Everytime I call to dispute a transaction they either force me close my account or force me to get a new card which is unnecessary. At this point I’m no longer banking with Ally.

NEVER DO BUSINESS OF ANY KIND WITH ALLY…

NEVER DO BUSINESS OF ANY KIND WITH ALLY FIANACIAL. This is the absolute worst Company Ive ever dealt with. I was 20 days late on a payment and while communicating it to them they asked me why I cant ask a friend or family member to make the payment for me. BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. When I told them no and to never ask me something like that again, they became threatening, telling me time is very important and this will get escalated quickly to the highest level of collections. ALL FOR COMMUNICATING I WAS GOING TO BE 20 DAYS LATE. They will call you CONSTANTLY. 10+ calls/day and send incessant letters. Even as soon as you make the payment they are already harassing you for the next one. THIS IS THE WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS AND THEY ARE CROOKS. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ALLY FINANCIAL

This company is horrible

This company is horrible. Cap was supposed to cover the rest of my vehicle due to total loss and there are still dues. On top of that I told them multiple times over the phone the car is a total loss and everytime they say oh that was not documented on our end. Also you get and Indian person I can hardly understand. Terrible company. Do not recommend.

The worse company my vehicle was involved in a total loos I had hap insurance which did not cover the full gap. The amount they are collecting on it all interests. Now I am going through medical issues the representative was very unsupportive and she sounded like a robot. Very unsympathetic. I would never refer them to anyone.

Ally does not protect their customers…

Ally does not protect their customers from fraud. We had 8 fraudulent charges to our account when someone hacked into my husbands Apple Pay totaling $4000. They refused to accept the charges as fraudulent and declined to credit our account. Do NOT use Ally if you want to be protected from hackers!!!

Worst auto finance company in history!

I signed up for a 72 month auto loan. 80 months later, I am still paying for it. My loan was $18,000 and I have paid over $35,000 for it. You pay it after 5 PM on the due date? $75 late fee. 10 days late? Another fee. The employees are rude and unprofessional. I signed up for paperless billing, I get 3 to 5 letters a month reminding me of a payment. They report your payments to the credit bureaus very late, making it look like you miss payments or are in repo when you are nowhere near it! They are scam artists who take your money and do not even think twice. You are not a customer, you are a number.

Total Loss Department/communication sucks

My vehicle was totaled out, I had GAP insurance two different ways. I still owed a little for the remaining balance on a couple of extended warranties. However, based on calculations and the numbers they provided, my balance should be paid in full now but they are claiming I still owe another $1000. I tried to provide support via their secure messaging system and they keep telling me the ONLY way to reach the Total Loss Department is via phone call, so I have to waste my work day and elevate my anxiety and stress because they want to steal money from me at this point. It has been 2 months since my accident, there is no excuse for why all payment refunds and settlements haven't been processed correctly at this point.

This company refuses to fix their broken website

This company has a broken website. I switched banks and could not get their auto draft to work with my new bank. I checked with my bank and the bank confirmed the problem was coming from Ally Auto. Ally Auto refused to address the situation. I spoke with Steven via chat and he said he would make an "internal case" but could not give me a case number. He refused to send any information about it. He said that they don't have case numbers, but it would be fixed. I also could not get anyone to contact me or answer the phone in that area. So now I have to pay extra to use a Credit Card. It's a good thing that at least worked, otherwise they would not be able to take my payments. Honestly they have no accountability and their website sucks! Their employees are not empowered to help you. You are just routed to an offshore call center.

Horrible Bank

Horrible Bank. I’ve been trying to get a title corrections for over a month. I call every morning to check on my title. One day they say a week, after a week they said it would take a month . I get a different story everyday . This ordeal has cost me $3500 between Ubers, car rentals and now to find out I have to pay a late fee to DMV whenever they resolve the issue .
I still have no title

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. The representatives will not get you a supervisor when asked. If you asked the representative's name, they hang up on you. They rip people off on the rates. Never never do business with this company. Lesson learned. Hopefully you don't have to learn this lesson from such a horrible company.

If you value your credit history, do not work with this company

If I could give less than 1 star, I would!
My auto loan with Ally was paid off and confirmed as satisfied. A year and a half later, Ally claimed a payment from the payoff period had been returned (it was not) and reported a late payment to the credit bureaus. The reporting caused my credit score to drop significantly. I disputed the issue with Ally, provided all necessary documentation, and filed a regulatory complaint, but Ally refuses to address the issue and continues collection threats. Very frustrating experience dealing with a company that refuses to correct THEIR OWN obvious error.

I wish I hadn't got this car loan here

HORRIBLE BANK! STAY AWAY! I wish I had used my credit union instead of the car lots bank - they set me up with a car loan through Ally (I went along with it because they were able to match/slightly undercut my credit union rates took it for simplicity).

After 1 year I decided to refinance with a credit union for a lower rate (rates have gone down) and have had the WORST experience trying to pay this car off with Ally. I received my loan check and mailed it to Ally bank as instructed, after signing it, Apparently it was processed at Ally like 1 day after my pay off quote was good for so I was "short" $12.01 due to daily accrued interest. Most GOOD banks would have just waived this, but no this place... no they MAILED THE CHECK BACK saying I was short $12.01!!!!! I was then told on the phone they'll freeze the payment amount I just had to mail the check back and pay $12.01. I immediately paid $12.01 online, paid 75 cents for ANOTHER stamp and mailed the check back. Upon processing the check this time they accepted it, but now my account shows I owe another $68.43!!!!! I called them again and they REFUSED to waive the interest. I was charged this interest because THEY returned the check... they deliberately dragged this out as long as possible to extract more daily interest out of me!!!!!! I even elevated it to the supervisor and they held firm that because the check said "payment in full" and it was $12.01 short that they were justified in mailing it back and that the account accrues interest daily. Lessen learned if you do use this bank PAY EXTRA to ensure its paid when that check gets mailed. Never using them again for ANYTHING.

Money keeps being taken from our accounts. Wont show up on our statements. Paid 1700 in feb 2026. Its march now im behind 2 payment again they are saying. How I owed 600 for that car payment and 300 in late fees. Nothing changed almost like the money disappeared. Now they are saying it went toward the interest...why didn't they pay the payment and late fee. That I shouldn't have anyway. We keep throwing money at these fees. That wont go away and keep putting us behind.

Ally is the worst auto loan company

Ally employs unethical business practices and engages in deceptive behavior when communicating the amount owed over the phone. Ally has outsourced its customer service to overseas locations. They have repeatedly requested that I seek financial assistance from a family member or loved one when I am late on a payment. This request is incredibly disrespectful and inappropriate. Ally does not care whatsoever for well-being of its customers.
