Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the app and website, citing frequent crashes, bugs, and a generally poor user experience. Concerns were also raised regarding the authenticity of some profiles, making it difficult to connect with genuine individuals. Reviewers felt the subscription model was misleading, with many reporting an influx of non-genuine likes and matches only after their premium membership ended. Some people were dissatisfied with the lack of conversational skills among matches and the tendency for matches to disappear quickly. Additionally, some customers mentioned issues with the app's filtering system, which often presented profiles that did not align with their preferences.

OKCupid has turned from a gem to a t**d

It’s not what it used to be several years ago. They took to misleading their customers. They are just pushing packages. Nothing is done to prevent scam so OkCupid accommodates multiple scammers and fakes. Anyway, I’m better off with SttDate.com
- I’m starting to appreciate this type of dating. It’s worth every cent because their women are real and they are very beautiful. I have had five dates already and my only problem is I can’t make my final choice. Anyway, I recommend staying away from OkCupid. Basic membership gives you nothing. You have to pay for everything. But when you start paying you find out that all your likes and messages are entirely from scammers.

I realised this was a scam straight away, and cancelled my yearly subscription in the website. The bank cannot refund my money. I later found out the cancelation for renewal had not been done, had to go into google account to cancel it, not used the app at all.

Trying to the my money back from the website.

Stay away complete scam

Total scam

Total scam - keep getting women from Ukraine asking for WhatsApp contact to chat face to face 😆 it’s funny how they all say exactly the same thing then the profile disappears - Don’t trust anyone unless they are local and that never happens - The profile always says it’s in UK then I get - I live in Kiev are you okay with that 😆 No, jog on!! Don’t give your details to anyone

Free version includes "you need to pay…

Free version includes "you need to pay for everything"! Messages only from users in other countries and overwhelming amount of "likes" that you can't see on message unless you pay. Probably all fake once you do pay.

This platform has been the worst I have…

This platform has been the worst I have been on with the amount of scammers. I would not recommend it to anyone. I constantly got messages from the site that they deleted profiles of men I spoke with. I too personally was able to identify the scammers pretty quickly.

Your better off saving your phone space than downloading this JOKE of an app

Every time I long on it says I have between 22, and 28 "Likes" so for fun sometimes I'll just swipe right every day to use all my swipes and not 1 single mutual match. then sometimes when I log on, the VERY FISRT profile will be someone I matched with from years ago who is totally against my match criterion so that I get at least 1 match for false hope there will be more. So i don't swipe right on that one particular profile, then swipe right on the 5 next ones, and then it says "Ohhh, you missed a match" programmed after I didn't swipe right on that 1 profile 5 swipe rights later systematically. They really think we are that stupid haha. Its literally a scam. They want $40 a month hahaha what a joke. I don't even know how they are in business. I looked up their reviews for fun and its pathetic. I've never seen an app hated so much for the right reasons

These guys are a complete joke.There is…

These guys are a complete joke. There is a reason why they have such bad reviews.
I recently was banned for absolutely NO reason at all.I have been a paying customer of theirs for 4-5 years!
Had many ladies I was talking with there.
About a week and a half ago I got the “That number is even Invalid or we can’t find the account ”
After sending in half dozen requests as to why I get told I’m banned for suspicious activity. These people lie.I did nothing wrong. All my pics are me.Im never rude or offensive in any way.
I highly recommend not dealing with these jokers.

Fake accounts number outrageous!

I like the site, because I can find out a lot about a potential date, if she fills up her profile in details. But in the last year the amount of fake accounts grew exponentially. In my opinion the number of fake accounts is 3 out of 4. What a shame! And this is done intentionally. I would guess by people paid by OKCupid to create a large ammount of profiles. OKCupid SHAME ON YOU! If the company really care, they should not allow accounts that does not have at least 500 words and answered questions less than a 100. A person who indeed wants to find a match will take time to compose a detailed profile in order to increase the chances of finding a compatibke match.

Profiles are not real

This is literally scam. More than 80% of profiles are not real, and okcupid doesn't even care (I guess they only care about numbers and profits).

The worst dating service ever

The worst dating service ever! I registered, spent an hour creating a profile, answering idiotic questions about politics and same-sex relationships, liked two men I liked, and then didn't log in for a week. A week later, I discovered my profile had been banned. I tried contacting support, but only received a standard, formulaic response about violating some rules. I wrote back asking for clarification on the specific reason, and they completely ignored me. I was already planning to pay for their service, and I'm glad I didn't do that and lose my money. I'll also tell all my friends and acquaintances about this so no one makes the same mistakes!

after having an account for 6 years

after having an account for 6 years, i received an unexpected email that my password had changed. i then replied to the email to report that i hadn't changed my password, then my account was immediately closed. they then replied as though i violated the TOU. which means my account was banned for reporting a security incident.

whatever you do don't EVER email support.

No Response From Customer Support

I made an account, filled my profile out. The next day I couldn't log in. I contacted support and did not receive a response. 6 months later I tried again and the support said my account was banned and to talk to the appeal support team. I sent them an email and they never responded.
I was never told my account was banned, never given a reason why. I had nothing inappropriate on my profile.

Fake

It looks to me as if the profiles are mostly fake. Far too many to be worth wasting my time with.

Worse, I suspect that many fake profiles are created by the company itself.

Dishonest

This site constantly touts how many likes you get and tries to guide you towards paying for premium to get to see the number of likes that you have. All while constantly saying that you have dozens if not hundreds of people liking your profile. Only for when you actually do pay for premium, you find out that this is a very low number and most of the people have viewed your profile and swiped left.

Garbage tech and ppl

Why does it ask for preferences when it shows you ppl who are literally the polar opposite of what is indicated? Showing me a 30 year old when I set a range from 45-55. Showing me ppl from Sweden when I live in NC and set a distance of 25 miles? The tech sucks, the quality of men suck... absolutely worthless

Abandoned

OkCupid used to look like a serious dating site, now it’s mostly waste of users time. You spend time setting up a profile, answering questions, writing a bio - and still end up talking to inactive or suspicious accounts. Many profiles look abandoned

If your goal is to meet someone in real life, this place makes it harder, not easier.
