Not to be trusted!

Not to be trusted!

I just tried to leave a review for a film and they want me to disable my browser security.

Do not trust anything on this website, it blocks honest reviewers forcing them to make their browsers unsafe just to use the RottenTomatoes.com website.

Absolutely shameful practice by this company, none of the reviews or scores on this website for films can be trusted due to their scammy underhanded tactics of forcing people to compromise their security just to post a review!

Rotten Tomatoes can not be trusted, look at other sources for honest film reviews!

Unbelievably untrue reviews by ‘pros’

Unbelievably untrue reviews by so called ‘professionals’ the amount of 8% movies I’ve watched that turned out to be 100% and the 90% plus movies they’ve turned out to be literal garbage is untrue.

Don’t trust these guys, pathetic reviews by folk who don’t know good movies. Grown ups 8%?!? Call yourselves professional movie buffs 😂👍

Unreliable

I've written two reviews: one positive and one negative. Obviously, the negative review still hasn't been published after more than a week, but the positive one was published immediately.

A total disappointment...

I had hopes that this would be the last bastion of objectivity around movies. Sadly it's not. It's a sellout site and it sold it's soul for Hollywood friendships. The way it excludes viewers who are not "verified" is preposterous and ill intented. I'll never rely on Rotten Tomatoes ever again for an objective view.

Hides negative reviews

Rotten Tomatoes is well known for hiding negative reviews to protect box office performance.

The site is anything but unbiased and its only use is gauging how much Hollywood is trying to gaslight you.

Untrustworthy Score

Obviously a biased site. Lots of reviews follow the same wording for single sentences.

The "Verified Audience" is always massively more positive than the actual curated score. They purposely leave out all audience scores... which wouldn't be too bad if they didn't have a limited "verified audience" criteria. I receive emails from Odeon every time I book, easily verifiable.

Its trust worthiness has jumped off a cliff since Amazon bought them and IMDB.

Completely untrustworthy

Completely untrustworthy. 5/10 is a fresh on this site. Even IGN doesn't think a 5/10 is good. It also prioritises professional critic scores over user scores and often there's a massive disparity between the two. 99.9% of the site visitors are users not professional critics, so why does the critics score get pushed when the users are unlikely to agree?

I’ll give it the rating I have for one…

I’ll give it the rating I have for one simple reason..you rely on the audience score post screenings. Over a long time it’s obvious the critic scores are not reliable, probably paid reviews. The majority of critics seem to dislike the films the rest of us enjoy, and vice versa. Going from experience, I trust the audience scores far more.
