Pieces of shit..

Pieces of shit... I did a one-off payment for a course with my company card. 30 months later I see they've sneakily turned on a monthly charge.

Recognising their own mistake, they have the nerves to only refund 5 months, because of a bs internal bureaucratic reason...

So small....

Logged on today and started to have ads…

Logged on today and started to have ads after every lesson on a course. This made the educational experience feel horrible. I can appreciate one or two ads, perhaps at the beginning of the course or halfway through, but after every lesson? That just becomes very jarring and messes with the flow of learning . I’ve since canceled my premium subscription. I’ve done the same for other streaming services that put ad revenue over user experience.

The support system feels intentionally…

The support system feels intentionally designed to make it hard to contact them and to get lost in the process. At the same time, it fails to provide clear answers to real issues. This is unacceptable for a platform that charges a membership.

Some good courses but don't expect any support ...

I have been a long time customer and bought many courses. However when things go wrong you get stonewalled with Alex the chatbot and when your issue does not fit their prescribed options in this chatbot menu you cannot progress and make this company aware of issues. This is not a fault - this is by design and disrespectful of your time.

Disappointing Experience with Udemy

I feel compelled to share my frustrating experience with Udemy. The platform seems to allow subpar training content, with many courses offering mediocre videos that fail to meet basic expectations. What’s even more disappointing is that they no longer honour their 30-day money-back guarantee as advertised.

According to their policy, even if you only watch a small portion of a course — for example, one section out of a 15-20 section course that doesn’t align with the course description or quality standards — they will refuse to issue a refund. Instead, you’re met with a response saying, 'This course is not eligible for a refund based on your viewing history.' It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for a course where the instructor simply reads from a textbook without offering any valuable insights or practical knowledge, only to realize there’s no way to get your money back.

What’s worse, Udemy's behavior seems to violate basic online business user rights legislation, which protects consumers from deceptive business practices and ensures refunds in cases of unsatisfactory service. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I recommend using PayPal to dispute the charge and recover your funds. PayPal offers buyer protection and can help you fight these unjust refusals, especially when the platform is clearly not meeting its advertised terms.

Ultimately, I feel misled. Udemy’s claim of a 30-day money-back guarantee is misleading at best — they rarely honour it, and the terms under which they do are not clearly communicated to customers. Once you’ve made a purchase, they seem to do everything they can to keep your money, regardless of whether the course meets your needs or not. It’s disappointing, and as a result, I’m very cautious about using this platform again.

Dont use this company

Dont use this company. No way to actually communicate with them anymore! They hardly pay you anything either. I tolerated that but now I cant even get past the bot to ask them a simple question to do with the tax email THEY sent... I hate this company!

A solid online platform for self-learning

I would like to share my opinion about the online platform Udemy.
I use this platform very often and have purchased excellent courses not only in my professional field but also in other areas as a beginner. Overall, I can say that my impressions are entirely positive.
In my opinion, the structure of the website is very convenient for searching and exploring the necessary materials. I like that the site is not overloaded with visual elements - there is absolutely nothing unnecessary, and its design is very minimalistic. This helps avoid distractions while searching. Navigation between pages is very fast. The knowledge base resolves most questions, and customer support complements it quite well.
The huge list of specializations makes it easy to choose a direction and find the course you are interested in. The platform's materials are suitable both for beginners and experienced users. It is even possible to find courses that help you become a certified specialist in the future.
I cannot say that all the material is of equally high quality in terms of instructor qualification, but the available course information, preview videos, and user reviews make it possible to choose a high-quality course and the right instructor.
I also really like that if you are interested in a course but cannot afford it at the moment, there is very often a great discount system that allows you to purchase it at a minimal price. In addition, course authors themselves frequently distribute discount coupons. Once purchased, the course remains available to you permanently, and authors often update their materials to reflect current changes and developments.
The payment system for courses is very convenient and easy to understand. In my experience, there was a situation where a purchased course did not suit me at all, and the refund system allowed me to get my money back. However, the refunded money is returned to your account balance, which you can then use to purchase another course.
Among the drawbacks, in most cases instructors do not check tests or homework assignments as thoroughly as one might expect. There are also a few courses where instructors respond very slowly to questions or do not respond at all.

Tricky Refund Policy

It says you'll be able to get a refund but when you notice the course you're taking is outdated it doesn't let you get the refund cause you've advanced too much in the content.

Udemy discriminates against Female Dancers

I was told to remove the profile pic from my dance course. It showed me balancing a sword on my head. Udemy told me "No weapons allowed" (Not what their policy says) Yet Udemy features several combat courses in knife & swords, all with images of men with weapons, even firearms. I refused to change my pic, and removed my course.

False information on annual subscription bundle

I purchased an Udemy annual subscription today after seeing that a specific course was listed as “included with subscription.” The course page clearly indicated that I could access it at no additional cost if I subscribed.

However, after completing the subscription, the same course now shows a separate fee of £15. I hardly contacted your support team, and I was informed that they can not help me with it.

This is misleading and feels unfair. I subscribed based on the information presented in the website which is still there. Not a trustworthy site and a team of operators who does not help the learners. I recommend Coursera at least they honour what they promise.

Strong on courses but terrible customer service

It’s a shame but I agree with the recent reviews. The courses that you can see on this platform are interesting but if you get any problem that you need to deal with customer service is game over. Customer service will play with you until you lose all your patience.

Lost My Purchased Courses

I bought a bunch of courses from time to time on Udemy. Life is always busy for me. So there have been a big stretch of time that I have not been active with the Udemy platform. So, about a year later, I decided to log in to my Udemy courses; I could not find one course I purchased. It is like I spent a good amount of money and lost it all. It appears that they have been deleted. Therefore, I will never buy education from this platform again. Lesson Learned!!

Very disappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with Udemy and this course.

The course title suggests that you will gain practical knowledge in Agile Scrum Project Management. In reality, the content is extremely superficial and lacks any real depth or applicability.

What I find particularly misleading is the certificate. A 2.5-hour course issuing something that sounds like “Certified Agile Scrum Project Management Expert” creates completely unrealistic expectations and can easily be misunderstood.

On top of that, after completing the course, you are pushed toward an external certification that requires additional payment of hundrets of dollars. With the level of knowledge provided, there is no realistic chance of passing any exam. It feels more like a sales funnel than actual education.

Another issue: I specifically subscribed to Udemy expecting this course to be included. Only after subscribing did I realize that it requires a separate purchase. This was not clearly communicated and added to the frustration.

I also completed the course in good faith, expecting it to improve. Because of that, I am now no longer eligible for a refund under their policy.

Trying to contact support was another frustrating experience. You first have to navigate through unclear and confusing help pages and deal with a chatbot before you can even create an email ticket. This makes it unnecessarily difficult to get proper support.

Overall, this experience feels misleading on multiple levels. I expected more transparency, better quality, and easier access to support from Udemy, which worked all pretty fine just years ago but obviously not anymore.

Not recommended.

Fake Review and Fake Marketing

My experience with Udemy has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. After making a payment for a course, I expected at least a basic level of customer support and transparency, but unfortunately, that expectation was not met.

It appears that the platform promotes courses in Hindi to attract Hindi-speaking learners. However, once payment is made, many of the course materials and videos are delivered primarily in English, which makes them far less useful for students who enrolled expecting proper Hindi instruction. This creates a serious mismatch between what is advertised and what is actually provided.

Another major concern is the lack of direct customer support. There is no easily accessible contact number, and communication through email has been unhelpful and generic. When a learner invests money in a course, they should have a clear and reliable way to resolve issues or get proper assistance.

Overall, the platform needs to improve transparency in course language, provide accurate information before payment, and establish a more responsive support system. Without these improvements, many learners—especially those relying on Hindi-based instruction—may feel misled and unsupported.

Udemy is a company with a weak…

Udemy is a company with a weak management and leadership.

As it appears the employees are resisting some sort of company merger and tries to create all sorts of digital mayhem and sabotage at the company.

I tried to purchase Udemy 1 year and 1 month subscriptions and was rejected with 3 different accounts and 8 different debit cards plus google pay. All payment solutions worked flawlessly with other merchants.

The company should hire consultants to weed out the saboteurs and use payment solutions external to the company. This is why paypal, stripe, klarna and a dozen other payment handlers exist.

I am sure that Udemy is a wonderful company with fantastic products tainted by sabotage and internal conflicts.
