I booked a car hire through Canadian Affairs. I was required to pay up front. This was a last minute booking because of family illness. I had confirmation of my payment but no car voucher. Eventually I was forced to call the London office to be told that there were no cars left when they contacted Avis and they would rescind my booking. This is so frustrating as it left me having to make expensive travel arrangements with little time. I was also advised that the refund of my payment would be started next week. There were plenty cars at a neighbouring branch. I feel I should have been advised immediately when there was no booking rather 24 hrs later. I also think if they had know that there are no cars they shouldn’t be advertising and taking bookings that they can’t fulfill. Poor service left me with little trust in the company.

Score rescued by Andrew after waiting for several hours for a call back that never materialised. He was diligent and professional and arranged everything perfectly for us but we were close to exploring other options with other providers due to the long wait and non existent call back.

I spent a lot of time reviewing options for car hire within multiple sites, all offering various deals, but none could match what Canadian Affair could do. They even included the very important 'supplementary liability insurance', required when driving in North America as part of the package. When arriving in Toronto at the Avis booth, I was given no hard sell of any additions due to the brilliant package already agreed when booking and they even gave me an upgrade for free due to their availability. I could not have been happier with the whole experience. I will certainly be telling friends and booking again when I travel to Canada next time. Many thanks.

Experienced staff very helpful , they know the country and also give you all the details you need to have a wonderful experience.Having once been you will go back.If they forget to mention something they ring you back.
The only negative was, to start with was they are very busy & I rang 4 times & waited 20mins plus each time. After that I got the chance of a call back & no problem.

Been booking a Car hire with Canadian affair 5 years now and had an excellent experience.
They only offer fully inclusive which is stated via there website via AVIS
However if they go via Hertz it is not fully inclusive just inclusive .
What is the difference
With Avis you have no excess to pay so you depeosit when picking the car up is like $50
With hertz however its a $300 deposit and a $500 excess hold in-case of any accidents or damage to the car.
Well this is not what canadian affair advertises so I cancelled that and just asked them to rebook with Avis .
As usual fast service and helped swiftly with my quiries.

Customer service was top notch. Avis doing what i expected from all car rentals, tried to charge extra for 2nd driver and then for 1/8 tank after refilling and driving just 11km. Canadian affair was always quick to reply to emails and sorted both issues. I will recommend as price was good too.

I pre-paid Canadian Affair £962 for a car rental as part of a family road-trip holiday in Canada, believing we were in safe hands with a company that describes itself as the “Canada Travel Experts”.
Unfortunately, our experience was anything but reassuring.
When we arrived at the Avis desk at Vancouver Airport, I presented the valid credit card required for the booking. I was then asked to insert the card and enter the PIN. I could not recall the PIN, having used contactless payments almost exclusively for years.
The important point is that Canadian Affair had not made it clear to me before booking that knowing and entering the credit card PIN could be an essential condition of collecting the vehicle, or that failure to do so could result in us losing the entire prepaid rental cost.
Avis therefore refused to release the car, leaving us at Vancouver Airport without the vehicle we needed for our road trip.
Fortunately, Alamo came to our rescue. Their staff were extremely helpful, accepted an alternative payment method and provided us with a vehicle, effectively saving our holiday.
Canadian Affair's website states:
“Choosing a rental car from trusted providers like Avis ensures you’ll enjoy a smooth and reliable experience from the moment you land.”
That certainly wasn't our experience.
What has disappointed me even more is Canadian Affair's response afterwards. Despite the fact that we received no vehicle and no rental service from Avis, Canadian Affair has told me that they intend to retain the full £962 we paid in advance.
Their justification is that Avis may require PIN verification when taking the security deposit. My concern is simple: if knowing the PIN was sufficiently important that failure to enter it could result in the car being refused and the entire £962 being forfeited, why wasn't that made clear to us before we booked?
I have now raised the matter formally and am seeking a refund.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Booked a rental car with them. They decided they didn’t want to honour the booking as it’s a ‘request’. Now holding on to my money for 3 more business days. And the biggest disgrace they are still offering the rental ‘deal’ they are refusing to honour as the market has moved against the. Terrible terrible service. A one sided ‘booking’ - I commit they do not. HARD AVOID.

So very knowledgeable about all this Canada. Allowed me to use credit we still had with them from Covid times. Everything was spot on...including the trip itself. Will definitely return to Canada at some point and will head to Canadian Affair first!

Extremely poor service. We booked a hire and a hotel for our upcoming stay in Canada. 3 days after booking received an email saying the hire cars were fully booked. Then 2 days later another email saying the hotel was fully booked. Both times full payments were taken from our account even though they knew there wasn’t anything available.
This is unacceptable. Both the hire cars and hotels are still showing as available for our dates meaning other customers are potentially going to fall foul to this.
After seeing good reviews online I am very disappointed by the service I have received and advise people to look elsewhere for there holidays.

Was due to pick up a car this weekend. I have just received an email saying there is no car available!! Ridiculous that their systems don’t check this when booking! So if you’re looking to hire a car don’t use these guys! And then they don’t answer emails when you ask further questions or if there are any other options to help you!

We booked our holiday July 25 with our travel agent for May 26 ,two weeks before we depart my travel agent phoned to say our seats had been changed because I hadn't been allocated a seat but my husband had I been dropped of the system, this error had been picked up by my travel agent not CA,our seats were no longer available they moved us to seats toilets either side, galley jn front ,return flight seats not together,I managed to change seat going out my daughter eventually changed seats 2 days prior to departure to being seated together by the window our original seats.
A lady called Melissa phoned me to insure me there would be no more errors and she herself would phone every Hotel before we arrived to make sure all was good ,that she didn't do some of the Hotels were poor and when we arrived in Banff we had to be dropped few streets away and walk with our cases because they had all the road up outside, I would never use CA again or recommend them
