Update: After 11 days, they replied and sent me a free sample with priority shipping, which was very much appreciated. They are clearly still adjusting to a new email system and things sometimes slip through the cracks.

Original review: I’ve ordered from TPC at least five times and have always had a great experience. In my most recent order, I had to contact customer service about an urgent issue, and it has unfortunately changed my opinion of them as a company.

There was an error in my order (probably my mistake) and I contacted them well in advance of the order being processed and shipped, hoping they could make a change. I sent an email and left a voicemail on their bizarre AI answering machine. Their customer service team promises a reply within 1 business day, but I’ve gone several days without a reply.

If they had replied in the promised time frame, my order could have been fixed. Instead, while waiting for customer service to respond, my order has shipped with the incorrect item and I’ve wasted my money. Again, this was my mistake, but customer service has been useless no matter how I’ve reached out. Now that my order has shipped, I’m sure they won’t be able to do anything, since they don’t allow refunds.

if I could write a zero, I would first of all they're sizing is wrong and they sent me water in a tube and there is no way to get your money back

The Perfumed Courts new website is so much friendlier and easier to navigate. Mort importantly, their customer service is phenomenal. I recently had a small issue with my order and the response time and resolution was quick and delightful. They actually utilize contacting me via text as well as email to ensure contact. They truly cared about my satisfaction. I will definitely continue ordering from them.

I have made 2 purchases from TPC. My first order was flawless. It was a scent that is discontinued that I'd purchased in the past at the Gucci store in NYC. It's hard to find these days, and I was surprised they had it, as it is sold out or unavailable at many other places. The price was great, too. My first order arrived, and it was the genuine Gucci by Gucci that I'd had in the past, and it smelled even better than I remember. For my second order, I order a few more decants of Gucci and a couple samples of some other scents that ChatGPT turned me on to, and I'm sad to say there was an issue with my order. When it arrived, it was short a few decants of the Gucci. I whipped out my phone and sent an email, and I had a reply within an hour. They explained they only had 1 decant of a smaller size than I ordered left, and they offered to send it to me free of charge and refund me for the missing decants. I then asked if there was anyway I could get some decants in another scent instead of being refunded, and within an hour again I had my reply. They agreed to send the replacements that I requested PLUS the smaller decant of the Gucci free of charge! I was blown away. I don't know what people are talking about when they say Customer Service is poor because that has not been my experience at all. They even had my replacements sent out the SAME DAY that I wrote them about my missing decants. I have never been treated so well by a company, and I will definitely be doing business with them again. I saw the poor reviews, and I just don't get it. This company is amazing! Some people just can't see how they suck, and I'm sure most of the negative reviews are by people that were rude and demanding a***oles. If you treat people with respect, you get a lot further in life. But what do I know? lol Great company. Don't believe the negative reviews. People usually only leave a review if they have something bad to say, and unfortunately TPC is a shining example of this. Give them a chance. You will NOT be disappointed!

I should have came to the reviews first before I placed an order. There's a reason it's rated 1.8. I ordered some samples and all seemed to go well. I got my decants, sampled them and assumed the scents I was sampling was correct. So I purchased a fragrance, only to find out that the fragrance I purchased because I liked a decant was a COMPLETELY different fragrance.

Now after spending 100 dollars on a new fragrance based on a false decant, I am stuck with a fragrance I do not like. Not only that but I have no clue if the other decants are correctly the scents they are labelled as, and not only did I lose 100 dollars on the fragrance, I lost 40 dollars on decants. Avoid this company. I rated this 2 stars instead of 1 because I like to give the benefit of the doubt that it was one incorrect decant. That being said, I am still out of 100 dollars because of that mistake, and I have no confidence the other decants are correct. Order# 344062

Edit: After response from the company looking to remedy the order, I appreciate them reaching out, but I cannot change my rating to higher than 2 stars because there is nothing they can remedy in this case. Why? Because when I received the wrong labeled fragrance, this prompted me to buy a whole bottle at my own cost, which turned out to be not the fragrance I decanted (due to wrong sample and wrong label). If this was simply a case of not receiving my decants, or it being damaged or some other issue they could remedy, I would for sure change my rating. But because I wasted 100 dollars on a fragrance I didn’t like due to the decant being incorrect (in this case it was Oud Musc which wasn’t Oud musc), there is nothing they can remedy. As a customer, we can be understanding of changes and technical difficulties, but when we pay for something we expect to get what we pay for. If I was sent the correct sample, I would have known that the fragrance wasn’t for me. Instead I got a great smelling mystery fragrance and mistook it for the actual fragrance which was something else entirely.

Paid $167.91 for a 4 ml decant of vintage Shalimar. Received a single 1 ml vial. The remaining 3 ml were not in the package. Two emails to customer service have gone unanswered. The phone line has been busy on every attempt across multiple days. I have ordered from The Perfumed Court in the past without issue, which makes the current silence harder to understand. I am not asking for anything beyond what I paid for: either the missing 3 ml or a refund. Filed a PayPal dispute today. Posting here because the reviews suggest public documentation is the only thing that prompts a response from this company. That should not be how a business of this tenure operates.

Very deceptive website. The price is outrageous. I purchased my perfume in Germany last month and it is legit . Shame on you

I've order 4 or 5 times from the perfumed court, but this time my order never came. Today I called and left a message about not getting my order. And I went back to website and now I've been banned from the site.

If something goes wrong and you attempt to be made whole you will be banned.

Awful - no product, no customer service, no return calls, no return emails, no refund! Has been a month and nothing from them.

Just got my order - expectation’s exceeded. Shipping was quick and inexpensive and the products were exactly what I was looking for! I was able to purchase a decanted set of a very hard to track down line of perfumes that were my go-to for years at a fraction of what it would have cost me to piece the set together myself. Will absolutely purchase from this store in the future.

Edit: eventually resolved, only after leaving bad reviews though. Process was slow but glad it was resolved/// Customer service is iffy. First order and two of the samples were leaking, what are the odds? They won’t even replace the full thing, only partial. Wouldn’t do business with again. Spend your money elsewhere

Online ordering was straightforward and the selection of fragrances impressive. The samples that I ordered (42 in all) were delivered quickly. Customer service was responsive and helpful by email when I misplaced my username. The samples were a convenient and inexpensive way to guide me toward which fragrances to purchase. Highly recommended.

Love that I got to try 15 different perfumes for less than half of the price of one perfume bottle! So important when I’m really starting from scratch looking for a fragrance to have actual samples: trying on in store overwhelms my nose, makes all the fragrances blend together, and doesn’t allow time for the scent to fully develop on my skin. I didn’t know what to expect with the perfumed court but I am so happy with them. They sent sample bottles, well-packed and very clearly labeled, within a few days of me placing the order. I get to try one perfume at a time, which would just take months for me to do if I only tried one at a time at a store. Furthermore I love that they have fragrances that you can’t find at big box stores.
I’m NOT going to love every fragrance but that has nothing to do with this company. I’m really very happy with the service here and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to try out a perfume or who’s looking for s scent that’s really hard to find. Or really, just anyone.
I wish I could upload a photo because I wanted to show how nicely the bottles were packaged and labeled. Anyway, it’s nice.

I already made a review and gave them 2 stars and presented how my transaction was suspected to be fraud, at last I sent them the docs and they sent me the 34 samples after 2 weeks of initial transaction. I asked them to refund me the shipping cost because I wanted the samples earlier by 7 days but they didn't. I tried some of the samples and most of them seems to be genuine although I still have to go through some samples, Tried Amouage black Iris, Overture Man, Lyric man, Memoir Man, Reflection 45 Man, Armani Stronger with you intensly, Dior Sauvage Elixir, Baccarrat 540 extrait etc. I do feel like some perfumes are summer perfumes and does not yield in winter like they would in summer but other than that it seems legit. A 4 star review because of the initial delay and then refusing to refund shipping cost otherwise it would be better.

Horrible smell.

All 3 samples I received smelled like a chemical!

I bought 3 designer samples and I know the smell is way off. Will “never” but from there again

100% authentic. I've bought many samples and upgraded to the original bottle from the company, always the real deal. Tad pricey.

This company is amazing. I am trying to figure out the identity of a particular fragrance. I suspect that it's an older French perfume, so I ordered the classic French sampler. Shipping was very quick, and I found the price reasonable for the variety of perfumes. A note to those who claim their samples smell like alcohol - ingredients can settle in shipping, so shake each little vial a bit before you open and smell it! I'm sampling one perfume per day and having a great time.

I’ve ordered many times from The Perfumed Court, as have many of the members of Basenotes. TPC enjoys a very high reputation among many, so I am genuinely surprised by some of the reviews here. I have nothing but good news to report from my experiences with TPC.

I ordered seven samples. Very different perfumes yet when they arrived all smelled like hand sanitizer, Trailways bus chemical toilet, alcohol…so disappointing. And the customer service response to my note was equally disappointing. Rude and nasty. As experience. Used to be a good company. What happened.

Always had a good experience with them. You save a lot of money by buying decants and they have a decent selection. Customer phone service is somewhat unavailable right now, but understandable. Shipping and fulfillment speed is average. You usually get your order within a week's time. Can't really complain. Shipping cost is standardized so I would wait to fill up a cart instead and also wait for their 20% flash sale coupon codes (around holidays).
