I really loved working with 99designs. It's so high quality, we get a lot more of what we expected. Highly Recommend 99designs for any design project you might have. I certainly will be using again and again.
I was very pleased with my mobile app design. The service was excellent and most importantly it was within budget. I would highly recommend this website to anyone looking for talented designers whatever your budget.
I self published my first novel a few months ago, and as a diligent planner, even left myself an extra month on top of the month I had allotted, to strategize the perfect cover to capture my unusual and wacky experiences working as a cigarette and candy girl in the nightlife of San Francisco. I went through 4 other designers, and was literally losing sleep, with a story that was ready to launch, and no "face" of the book! I finally ran a contest on the recommendation of a friend, and can't express how many compliments I receive on the cover. I couldn't be happier with how easy, intuitive, clear, smart, reasonably-priced and satisfying my experience was with both designers and the website itself. Amen/Represent/Testify! and Hallelujah, Thank the gods!
We have been wanting to rebrand our business for years but could not come up with a logo that we loved, or all agreed on. We hired friends and local designers but nothing worthy. I ran a top-tiered competition on 99 Designs and out of 40+ designs, we had 3 or 4 that we loved!
Same goes for our new brochure and website designs. Without 99 Designs, we would still be twiddling our thumbs and scratching our heads.
As a service-disabled veteran business owner, I've experienced many pitfalls through the journey of reintegration. Three years ago I received an honorable retirement after thirteen years of military service due to traumatic events sustained in Iraq. The years that followed revealed broken links in the veteran support channel. Out of my brokenness I decided to create a business capable of guiding fellow soldier's through the system. However I needed a logo that captures the identity and spirit of the military community. Fortunately the designers at 99 designs connected me with an awesome artist that embodied the nature of my organization. I'm excited about using the company for my future business logo.
Getting a logo designed with 99Designs was one of the best things we did for our business. In our small town, we never could have gotten the high quality design we ended up with for anywhere close to the price. The process was easy, the 99Design staff was helpful, and the results are complimented by our customers every day.
My business decided to use 99designs for our logo and it was the best choice we could have made! We got tons of designers submit logo ideas that were all very close to what we wanted. The hardest part was weeding through them and deciding between so many great options :) The finalists worked with us to make changes and tweaks to the logo designs until we found one that we were 100% happy with. And on top of it, they provided us with all the formats we would ever need. I will only use 99designs for any of my logo or other design needs in the future.
I needed a book cover and had no idea where to begin. I started the process with 99designs and left it sit for a while. Then a rep from the company contacted me, answered my questions and helped me start my contest. I got tips to invite more designers, and they worked! In fact, one tip was to look over portfolios of people who were watching your contest and invite them to bid personally. The winner was one I invited this way. Everything was very clear, extremely reasonably priced, and I am thrilled with the result!
I was so impressed with 99designs that I have told many other companies about how easy the process was. I have a new company and the designer captured the essence of my brand. They were very easy to work with and listened to the brief and feedback. I had 333 entries and 83 designers. Within 7 days I had my company logo and business cards designed. Everyone who sees the logo and business cards are instantly drawn to the look and feel of the company. Do yourself a favour, if you ever need design work done - this is the place to go. Why limit yourself to one company to design the face of your company. www.winwintendering.com
It is by far one of the best solutions on the Internet for providing a collaboration platform for clients and designers. Starting a contest is a snap, and loads cheaper than hiring a designer yourself, and you get to choose from all sorts of designers, provide feedback, and truly mold the end product to meet your satisfaction. I would recommend any friend and already have some with experienced similar results.
In fact we received over 250 designs for our logo design request - which made our job so hard because there were so many great designs - the designers were so easy to deal with and most really list to what we wanted - In the end we came away with something that will be easily recognisable for years to come. The cost was next to nothing to get so many options and the process is so quick it is over and done with before you know - Would we recommend 99 Designs - certainly would over 250 times
At these prices, we thought it was worth it to see if we could get a new logo for our new company. The questionnaire from 99designs helped us articulate what we wanted to the designers. When the ideas started to roll in, we were thrilled with the variety and quality -- clearly the designers were being very thoughtful as they worked. And, we were able to give feedback to tweak their designs. It was not an easy decision, but our winning design has won rave reviews from people who have seen it. We are thrilled -- it's even the cover design for our new book, How To Who, Selling Personified.
I received over 300 designs for my ebook, a bronze project and in the end, i had to hold a poll to have help deciding the final design–as i had many great designs to choose from for my cover. Highly recommend.
Logos are a different ball game all together. While I consider myself somewhat of a designer, logos are an entirely different ballgame. What 99 Designs brings to the table is WORLD-CLASS logo ideas and designers that would be impossible to find as quickly and efficiently. Working with many types of clients in different industries, we are able to leverage the vast network of designers who bring different perspectives and ideas. This service has truly changed how I work with my clients... a key tool in my toolbox that I turn to every time and am always completely satisfied.
First, let me say that using 99Designs will give you access to graphic artists, and designs, that you can't get almost any other way. If you go straight to a logo design firm, they won't have dozens of artists catering to you, competing to get your business. 99Designs does! That's the great part, and I'd easily recommend using them.
There is plenty of room for improvement, though. While running a design competition requires a lot of feedback to artists, and work on your part, in order to make it really successful, the website and tools aren't as helpful as they could be. It is completely unclear, and practically undocumented, what much of the terminology means and how parts of the UI/interactions are affecting your contest. I spent a lot of time reading FAQs, 3rd party articles, and even created an account on the "artist" side in order to get a better understanding of what was going on. For example, it's not very clear if artists can see your ratings or comments on other artists' submissions. Toward the end of my competition, I actually discovered a bug that was causing the calculation of votes from my surveys to friend to be very obviously incorrect, and while I'm amazed none of the thousands of contest holders before me found it, it should have been found by the programmers, and getting it resolved with customer service was one roadblock after another. I ended up calculating all my survey results by hand, and the results were very different rankings than what the website was showing me.
Their pricing scheme had a peculiarity I didn't care for. If you want your contest and associated info to be hidden from search engines, you have to pay more money. I'm a small company, that doesn't have tons of search engine clout. So now many of the top results for my company are worthless links to various elements of my design competition. If I was a big company, I wouldn't care, because I would have both the money to pay the fee and the search engine results to be unaffected. It's a poor policy, that is only harmful to the smaller clients with less capability to buy their way out of the problem. Hopefully they will review this.
In summary, I think it's a great service. Even with the site's faults, it offers a valuable and unique service, that you should take advantage of.
I was skeptical at first about giving up my cc# before I saw results, but shortly after I provided a clear idea of what I was looking for I had 35 book covers to chose from. At least 80% of the work was not only professionally impressive, but there were 5 entries that would need only minor changes to be exactly what I wanted. It was difficult to chose just 3 finalists even. I was very happy with the quick turn around and professionalist of the artists and the system 99designs has set up. Bravo!
