Don't Recommend the Crashing ACDSee Software

Decided to take advantage of the ACDSee 2026 Ultimate sale and unfortunately it was a cake not fully baked. Very buggy software, kept crashing so much that it became usable. Reached out to Support who was very prompt and provided clear troubleshooting steps, however nothing changed the constant crashing. Once Support ran out of options my only options was to get a refund. Clearly this software company has internal issues with their software testing and releasing it before it was ready. Don't recommend!

Acdsee Ultimate pack refund

Purchased the Ultimate pack on the 16th and wasn't happy. Some of the software in the pack didn't install or wouldn't activate... so I cancelled and asked for a refund...I got the refund but it was £5.63 or $7.72 short from the initial payment of £119.00 as yet the company has not responded to emails in this regard...AVOID this company and their Software at all cost

every year this software gets worse

every year this software gets worse. upgraded from 2020 version to 2026 pro version. Software constantly crashes and every few hours the software has to be restarted because picture viewer becomes skewed and won't display properly. I will not spend another dime on their mediocre product. I don't suggest buying

The program is pretty cool in theory but

The program is pretty cool in theory, I've been using different versions for years. However, my 2025 version is the worst performing program I have on my computer. I've tried all the “tricks” from the internet that could help speed it up. The result? Nothing has changed: for example, editing a file takes 6 seconds to open the editor! My last purchase – time to say goodbye.

ACDSee Ultimate 2025 crashed, pitiful support

I bought ACDSee Ultimate 2025 in May 2025 as a replacement for Adobe Photoshop - now I'm starting to think it was 65 USD wasted. The software crashed at least a week ago and the company's support is consistently slow - at weekends they seem not to be on duty at all. I'm without image processing in the middle of a personal project; as a professional photographer, now retired, I used Photoshop for many years and it never crashed. Maybe I should have just paid the money and continued with Adobe.

Still waiting for RAW support for Mavic Pro 4

I'm still waiting for RAW support for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. I can't understand why it always takes so long to add, in this case DJI's flagship, to the supported RAW files. I understand it can take some months, but instead of Adobe, DxO and some other software there are two new versions of Photo Studio Ultimate I can't upgrade to. I have sent several files from the start. I only use ACDSEE for sorting, comparing and viewing my images, for editing there are far better programs. Asked several times why it takes so long. Disappointed!

EDIT 02-09-2026: after writing e-mails again, sending other RAW image files there's no respond at all. It's really sad. The Mavic 4 Pro was released in May 2025!

Slippery Marketeers

Bought 2025 ultimate photo studio on the understanding that if 2026 came out within a few months I would get a free upgrade to 2026.
They reneged and I didn't keep a copy of the webpage.
Avoid or be very careful with your dealings with them.

Outstanding value, way better than ON1 PR 2026

ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2026 is a great piece of software with so much functionlity. It takes a bit of adjustment to learn, but nothing crazy.

The simplicity of asset management is outstanding making it easy for creayive professionaos to manage their libraries making this easier by leveraging keywords, AI keywords and facial recognition if you so choose. All of which is local AI helping with the privacy concerns. The DAM is very well done out classing others like ON1 in every way really.

Quick edits are incredibly easy with the large array of presets to the simple sliders and if you want to get into the weeds with more complex hand adjutable tools you definitely can making it quite user-friendly to beginners and professionals alike.

Presets are easily the most powerful thing inside of ACDSee. You an create presets for everything from colours, various toning options, curves to copying a set of edits from one image to many others. The panorama stitching is very powerful sometimes being able to properly stitch together images lightroom and others can't, but it isn't always able to beat lightroom, but it is very capable.

The mobile sync app is another stand out. No setup required, it will simply detect your PC on the network and do it all for you. I love the local network only approch for those who do not want a cloud solution which can still be used away from home if you set a VPN up on your home network allowing you to conect away from home while you are taking away the need for a cloud based solution which is privacy first.

The performance of the program is very nice. Everything is typically near instant in terms of processing times for effects including some of their most powerful AI effcts.

ACDSee Photo Studio 2026 is a well rounded software making it incredibly easy to get professional looking edits quickly while offering some of the best assest management there is. It is a great alternative to Adobe software and makes ON1 Photo RAW 2026 look terrible. ACDSee integrates well into workflows with good plugins and the support of external editors allowing for easy seemless edits between multiple programs.

The external editor tool is another handy one. I pair ACDSee with Luminar Neo which is used for the AI heavy lifting having some better AI tools to accelerate the workflow while ACDSee is the main editor which dose almost all of the heavy lifting.

Do I recommend ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2026 and future releases? Most definitely! ACDSee fits perfectly into many workflows and offers an incredibly powerful all in one solution which makes competitors like ON1 a straight up downgrade. The focus on local AI processing is a major selling point for ACDSee paired with it's strong DAM, powerful AI masking, panorama stitching, decent layered editing next to solid non destructive RAW processing/ ACDSee has it all and does everything to a good standard. It is a very stable, reliable and competent editor especially for those getting into photography.

Upgrade already after a month

We’ve been using ACDSee Pro on and off for 15 years. We uninstalled it again 2–3 months ago. What’s outrageous is the licensing model. We bought a license in 2023, and after 7 months it turned out to have issues: it didn’t correctly read all SVG files, it didn’t work properly in viewer mode, etc. The software was basically unusable. We wrote to Support, but the response was that they didn’t know why ACDSee couldn’t handle SVG files while browsers could.

In the meantime, a new 2024 version was released, but after 7 months we didn’t get any updates (and still haven’t), only an offer to purchase the new version (which also has issues). The license should be valid for 12 months and cover new versions during that time. Instead, you get 100 emails a day urging you to buy something new. If you buy ACDSee and a new version comes out a month later, you have to either buy the new one or pay for an upgrade.

Terrible

Terrible, they don't know the word service. I have asked a question by email several times, but there is no answer. Think carefully before buying a product from this company.

Customer Service Drove Me Away

Customer Service Drove Me Away

I had a recurring yearly license, which had slipped my mind... so I mistakenly bought a year of their Ultimate 2024 as a way to upgrade. A month later Ultimate 2025 came out and when I got into my account info and realized I already had an automatic subscription, I asked for a refund on the 2024 purchase because my yearly subscription was a week away from renewing (which would have given me the 2025 version). The response was, no, I could not get a refund. I was days past my month allowable time for a refund.

They did  offer me a "recurring" Ultimate 2025 yearly license for the same price I just paid a month and a half earlier for my 2024 Ultimate.

So kind of them to rip me off.

So I am writing this as a way to steer others away from their product. I have moved on to PIXLR as my main photo editing program, which I have used as well.

Software superceded almost as soon as purchased.

Brought as a management tool for my images more than anything else. Doesn't do that very well as it doesn't support most of my image file types (Affinity).

Almost as soon as I purchased the Ultimate 2024 version they brought out the 2025 version and asked me to pay again. Beware of this practice. They do have a subscription model that may well be cheaper than having to buy a new update license.

Won't be buying again.

Acdsee was in the past the best…

Acdsee was in the past the best software for cataloging and viewing images, nowadays it is the worst, I paid a lot for a complete ultimate version believing I had the best and I don't have the least. Extremely legendary database, constantly crashes, confusing screens, terrible editor, terrible management, even worse support and service. Don't waste money buying this.

"Ultimate Disaster": Software done without programmers?!?

I've been a dedicated user for something like 20+ years. But frankly, I think they fired all the real programmers and hired marketing people instead. The software is an absolute disaster based on the Photo Studio Ultimate 2023. Slow, non-windows compliant etc.. Support will do nothing but suggest buying a newer version. But when they left their paying customers with pure thrash earlier, why would anyone keep supporting them?!?
I have not found a great alternative yet. And to be fair, I loved their software up until AcdSee Pro 5 renamed all my files to random numbers. However, the upgrade to Ultimate 2023 (because of Pro 5's "file thrashing" and disability to handle UHD resolutions properly) has been an "ultimate disaster"! That the company behind it fails to honor any decent product support is pathetic. So pathetic that I can only assume that the original founders are long time out and a greedy (and stupid!) capital fund has taken over?!?

I cannot recommend this company

I cannot recommend this company. They don't even give you two licenses to use the software (desktop and laptop) when you are on the go.

That talks loud about what they think about their customers

In 12 years of use of this program

In 12 years of use of this program, I bought 3 different license because afther 2/3 years it begin to crash working. Unistall and reinstall, put in the number license, but it say is wrong. For 2 times I said to myself maybe I did something wrong, but asking support writing unusefull, nobody answare. In my opinion they should be investigated and condamned like Samsung and Apple
INFRAVIEW it's free and I'll donate to producer the money asked by ACDsystem
