I booked a package holiday through alpha rooms and it was so easy. If defiantly use them for all my holiday bookings. Cheeper prices then previously found. Website is so easy to use plenty of relevant options. I got exactly what I wanted. I was very happy I was able to pay a deposit at my chosen amount. Only downfall I wasn't happy about paying for my luggage at an added cost of over 40 pound so I decided to only travel with hand luggage .
I was looking for a particular location and hotel that has some meaning to me. We are celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted it to be special. we had looked and Alpha rooms was advertising the hotel we really wanted so we booked. I then found flights to match the dates that I had booked the hotel. The flights where booked separately and non refundable. I have previously booked with Alpha rooms before and have never had a problem so I was fully confident that if a hotel was advertised and a deposit taken then the room would be available. This was not to be on this occasion to my disappointment I was informed two days later that the hotel was no longer available for the dates booked and that my deposit was to be refunded. no alternative was offered. I then had to look for a hotel to match the dates of the flight. The hotel I have had to book is almost £300 more expensive than my initial booking....
Alpha rooms had Booking for the hotel, even when booking directly with the hotel was not available. We had being trying to get apartments that we stayed in a number of years ago in Lanzorote. We had tried online directly and my phone to book with the with the official complex site. The dates we required were not available. After trying the usual main travel sites we found Alpharooms.com surprisingly had availability for the same dates and were slightly cheaper with €10 deposit. I phoned alfpharooms directly to make sure of availability and after I paid the €10 euros they sent booking confirmation and were very helpful and fast on the phone. On the downside a few hours later after checking flights Prices we decided to amend our booking to stay for an extra night. We found our first deposit was lost and had to pay again. You would think that adding days to your existing booking a couple of hours later would not cost another booking fee. We made a request to stay in the same area of the complex Apartment /Chalet that we stead in a number of years ago and e –mailed the request. So we are hoping we will get the same location in the complex.
I needed a room for one night in tenerife, as our apartment was not available for the required time that we are on holiday, it was a simple phone call, asking the lady what could she do for me, in the area that I specified, I gave her a price to work on, and hey presto , the rest is history.
I made a reservation for a hotel booking to Birmingham a few days ago with Alpharooms. When I entered my credit card details there was a problem with the booking so it took me back to the beginning where I started the booking again and this time all was ok when I entered my card details.
I now find that I have two bookings with Alpharooms for the same dates and hotel. I have sent 4 emails to Alpharooms requesting the cancellation of one of the bookings and I have rang on two occasions (to be informed by the automated system that I would have a 35 minute wait) and I still have had no reply from Alpharooms.
I have used Alpharooms a number of times before this without problem. However I can most definitely say that I will never use this site again for booking a hotel.
I still need to cancel my hotel booking, it would be nice to receive a response from Alpharooms to my four emails. I suppose I will just have to contact my credit card company and get them to sort it out.
I booked several holidays wih Alpharooms over recent years and was booked direct with Aer Lingus which allowed me to update the API on line, check in on line , select seats and print the boarding passes. In relation to this holiday (ref : 492897163043) the flights were booked with a affiliate company of Alpharooms (JTA Travel, Bermingham) and as a result I do not have access to such facilities and have been told that I have to do all these procedures at the check in desk on arrival at the airports - meaning we will have to queue for an extra long period at both checkins and may not get adjacent seeting for our party of 8 persons, including 6 grandchildren. I was not advised that the process had changed and it is unlikely I would have booked the holiday if I had known the repercussions of the new procedures. I am in correspondence with Alpharooms in this regard and I am not a happy camper.
All my other holidays with were very enjoyable and very well organised. The single star rating relates to the current holiday booking
Every year I go on a short break and every year I always go back to alpha rooms. Because they always deliver and are happy to help at a drop of a click. You get a good peace of mind with them and that's worth a lot.
I book with Alpharooms at least two times a year. When I compare them with other companies they are always the best value. I use them for the accommodation and transfers and have never had a problem. I recommend them to all my friends and family.
