Pay in your own currency = robbery at high noon
What might seem like a nice service is in fact charged at a whopping 4% premium at amazon.com. Most credit cards charge 1.5 to 2% - this is at least double.
The concept is called Dynamic Currency Conversion and is entirely legal, however, it is a steep price to pay for doing the math for you. There is no limit to what the company can add onto the official exchange rate - the only rule is that they advice you of the actual exchange rate applied and the total added cost up front - which does not happen.
Dear friends at Amazon, please stay honest - this isn't it ...
