Contract length increases without notice

I advertised with Dex Media for approximately 9 years. I did not meet with my rep in 2018 as I no longer wanted a print ad. Because I didn’t meet with rep & sign for an ad as I had done every year prior, I didn’t think I’d be billed. However, Dex went ahead and ran another year without my consent, relying upon a fine print contract provision that Dex could do so. Additionally, somewhere in 9 years, Dex increased the contract from 12 months to 24 months, so that if cancellation notice wasn’t given before the 24 month expiration date, the business is on the hook for another 24 months regardless of whether the next 24 months advertising was authorized or not. A sneaky business practice, and not a company I will use again.
