Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 2,242 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Shoppers frequently reported severe issues with home deliveries, including missed time slots, missing items, damaged goods, and a lack of driver reliability. Consumers also struggled with unhelpful customer support teams that consistently failed to resolve complaints regarding incorrect billing, faulty products, and missing reward points. However, some reviewers were happy with individual staff members who provided kind, patient, and exceptional assistance during difficult or stressful situations. These customers deeply appreciated the prompt help they received when navigating unexpected problems, resolving card issues, or finding products inside the store.

Bad support team and a worst app/website

I've been having issues non stop with the checkout as for some reason the app/website just never lets you checkout and gives a " Sorry...
Sorry, something went wrong.
Please try again." You call the "support" team and they all tell you they will escalate it and it'll be done in a day or two and a week goes by and nothing ever happens from that point, you call them again and they say the exact same thing, they have outsourced all of their support teams to a 3rd party company in India so none of them actually do anything helpful.

It's never a pleasant experience in there

The staff on the shop floor are always pushing past you to get to items! One even took the tray of yoghurts I was getting and let the fridge door shut on my hand!

The Trolly person was shouting at me as I was trying to rush my trolly down to get to my daughter and had no concern for her , just about his trolly!

At self checkout they just stand around gossiping with each other and don't offer to help unless you actually wave or go and get them, even though your light is red!

And a fair few need to be better at custer service

The music is often too loud!

Gift Card Purchases

I visited two Asda Express stores in the Stockport area, at on I tried to purchase petrol using an Adsa Gift Card - apparently this is not permitted! At the second I tried to purchase groceries but again this was not permitted at Express Outlets.
Please explain clearly why Goods in ASDA establishments cannot be purchased using ADSA Gift Cards.

Absolutely appalling customer service…

Absolutely appalling customer service from Asda petrol station today, particularly from a member of staff named Seelan.

I have completed Asda’s online surveys on numerous occasions and have given positive feedback about the staff and service I’ve received in the past, including Click & Collect. That is why today’s experience was so disappointing - I genuinely left feeling let down and, quite frankly, betrayed by a company I have previously had such positive experiences with.

I went to the petrol station to use a voucher towards my fuel. At the till, I was told that the voucher had expired. I showed the staff member that the voucher clearly states it expires on 26/09, meaning it was still valid. I was then told, quite bluntly, that “they don’t do that here.”

I asked for an explanation because I genuinely wanted to understand why. It wasn’t about the money - it was the principle and the fact that I had a valid voucher in front of me. Instead of trying to explain the situation or help me, Seelan became defensive and started raising his voice at me.

I was then accused of shouting at him, when in fact I was simply challenging the situation and trying to get an explanation. I made it very clear that I am a customer and that I should not be spoken to in such an aggressive, rude and disrespectful manner.

What is perhaps most shocking is that at no point did anyone apologise for the way I was treated, acknowledge that the situation was upsetting, or even attempt to be helpful. There was no apology for the inconvenience, no effort to find a solution and absolutely no basic customer service. The attitude was obnoxious, dismissive and incredibly rude.

I left the petrol station genuinely shaken by the interaction. Nobody should have to leave a shop feeling like that, especially when they have done nothing wrong other than ask a reasonable question about a voucher they believed to be valid.

I have already submitted a formal complaint directly to Asda because I will not simply accept being shouted at and spoken down to by a member of staff. As a woman, I certainly will not tolerate being treated with that level of disrespect and rudeness.

After today’s experience, I will not be visiting this Asda again. It is extremely disappointing to go from being someone who has repeatedly taken the time to give positive feedback through Asda’s online surveys to feeling that I have been treated with such little respect.

Customer service costs nothing. A simple explanation, some basic politeness and an apology would have made an enormous difference. Instead, I was met with hostility, defensiveness and complete disregard for how I was being treated.

Been ordering online on the ASDA app…

Been ordering online on the ASDA app for a while and used to only have the odd issue. Recently the quality and service has took a downward spiral.
I have recieved items going out of date on the day of delivery, very short dates, damaged products, and as I didnt notice damage at the door, I have been refused refund. I'm having to put products in the bin because the packaging is split and I am unable to get a refund for it. Shocking service. I am cancelling my delivery pass and going elsewhere for my deliveries from now on.

Had a problem with my delivery .

Had a problem with my delivery on 11/09/26, was notified that order had to be cancelled due to computer issues. That was at 7.35, at 9.55 another apology and a £10.00 e voucher for next shop. At 17.55 I received a phone call from Asda once again apologising for problem. I replaced my order for 12/09/26, received complete. Fabulous service from all concerned. Thank you

Online deliveries are terrible

Been ordering online shops with Asda for years but due to too many subs and unavailable items I swapped to Ocado. Then I decided to give them a go again, but they turned up with unavailable items and subs as usual. So is back to Ocado. When I shopped with Ocado there were no subs and nothing unavailable.

The staffing levels are an absolute joke...

ASDA MIDDLETON, LEEDS. The staffing levels are an absolute joke at this store. Not one person was manning the self service area today when I visited -leading to myself and other people waiting 5 to 10 minutes for the staff member to authorise various issues. This isn't an isolated incident, you're always left waiting either due to inadequate staff levels, or the staff with their backs to the tills having a chat.

Having had a close family member work…

Having had a close family member work for Asda for over 35 years, it has been disappointing to see how much the working environment appears to have changed.

Long-serving employees have experienced repeated changes to working hours and arrangements as the business adapts to its current needs. While businesses inevitably need to change, there seems to be less consideration for the personal circumstances, experience and loyalty of the people affected.

At times, it can even give the impression that long-serving employees are being placed in increasingly difficult positions, rather than being supported and encouraged to remain with the company. It raises concerns about whether retaining experienced colleagues is still a priority, particularly when newer or younger employees may offer greater flexibility in filling gaps in working hours.

After more than 35 years of service, you would hope that loyalty, knowledge and experience would be viewed as valuable assets rather than obstacles to change.

It would be encouraging to see Asda place greater emphasis on supporting and retaining experienced colleagues, recognising long service and creating genuine opportunities for people to continue developing within the business.
