Just had a bad service from this company, stay clear , they could not organize a drink at a brewery, disgusting customers service, there website a joke & they take your money as they see fit, how they are allowed to trade is unbelievable, do not give your credit card details to this company, we live & learn, beware of hidden charges
I hired a car from Atlas Choice for a holiday in Dubrovnik. What it doesn't make clear on the website is that is not actually Atlas Choice you are hiring from but another company - in Dubrovnik it's Virtus Rent a Car who I would not recommend! For the week that I had the car I have no complaints however a few weeks after I returned I noticed that my deposit had not been refunded on my credit card. I made a complaint to Atlas Choice which in itself is an unpleasant experience as the complaints department doesn't actually have a phone number so all you have to do is speak through the complaints messaging service (a bad sign!). They responded saying they'd look into it and get back to me which they didn't. I had to chase them up many many times to see what was going on - it's been nearly 6 months and I've only just had my deposit back. The experience has been quite horrible and I would steer clear of this dodgy company if you're looking for car hire. There's a good reason they're so cheap!
Their so called customer service is appaling. I logged a complaint with them more than a week ago and followed up twice, yet they have not even acknowleged or replied to my complaint. Absolutely disgraceful. The dangerous aspect with this agent is that you could get a 1 man car rental company who rip you off for a scratch, luckly I got away with it by declining to rent in the first place. If you ever go to Portugal, do not rent from Sado( which atlas choice is still using despite huge amount of complaints)and do yourself a favor and stay away from Atlas choice as you only get to know the car rental company once you paid. Yes, you may get lucky and get a decent and known rental company, but I dont fancy to book a car by the same principle of playing lottery - you can loose or you can win.
Will never use again, no matter how cheap - they are cheap for a reason - you have been warned
I am very upset with Atlas choice as they have completely ignored me for the past months. I booked a car online through them in April 2013 and at the very same minute, I called them to confirm if there were any other charges involved. And yes there were because I had to drop the car off in another location from where I picked it up. Upon hearing this, I immediately requested the cancellation of my booking. I was advice to send an email immediately but to bear in mind that there may be cancellation charges. But since that day till present I haven't received anything from this company. I've called several times last year between May and August, and the said that they will refund my money. On the 7th of January 2014, I spoke to an adviser, Murielle, she told me that my case was closed. I asked her how can they closed the case when they haven't refunded the money back? So she had to send a message for the reopening of the case. And since then I haven't heard from them. BUT IF I WAS THE ONE OWING THEM I WOULD HAVE BEING DISTURBED BY DEBT COLLECTORS RESULTING TO A BAD CREDIT RATING.
MY POINT NOW IS We need to stop this from happening. A lot of people are going through this same scenario and do nothing about it. So this gives them confident to continue in their treachery ways. This is not fair at all. So if you have experienced the same thing as me with this same company or any other, please contact me so that we can work together to fight for our rights. I have wasted so much time running after them and they have taken me for granted. I will make sure I set an example with them that they will never forget in this life or the next to come.
I booked a car through Atlaschoice.com and luckily I only paid the $35.00 deposit. I canceled it two weeks later, which was two months before I would actually need the car. Atlas sent me notice of my credit and that they would be keeping $5.00 of my money. Ok, fine...they will refund $30.00. Instead of crediting my account back $30.00 they debited my account, in other words, they charged my account $30.00; so now they have $70.00 of my money. I tried calling the crazy contact# provided, but to no avail, I was not able to contact anyone. This is a SHADY company. Do not be drawn in by the attractive looking prices!!
I have used Atlas Choice twice now. I was a little unsure at first, but I saved over half the amount that I would have paid through Orbitz, Hotwire, Kayak, etc. I never had a problem of any kind. I did have to check my information though. On this side of the pond, February 1, 2014 is 2/1/14. My reservation showed 1/2/2014. I thought I had made an error. Great experience and SAVED MONEY!
I thought I'd got a good price through Atlaschoice but after I returned the car I was charged a further £36 by Hertz, who the actual car was rented out by, as they said the times I had booked to collect the car were out of office hours and a 'meet and greet' fee applied. This was never mentioned by Atlaschoice or Hertz. I have complained to Atlaschoice a month ago and have still not had this resolved. Their after-hire customer services is not contactable by phone, only email, and are very slow to respond. I would not recommend this company.
The website quoted me a "total price" of $94.41, but then after I paid for the rental car, I was told that i would have to pay additional local fees of about $30. And since the customer service is in England, it is very hard to get a representative on the phone.
This car hire was booked as "fully inclusive". It was a rip-off ! There were, of course, the usual exceptions - mainly refering to "additional services that you might require and have to pay for locally", but it was clear that it was a "fully inclusive" package including all applicable local taxes. I paid £256 for a 14 day rental. I required no additional services. But the package wasn't "fully inclusive" at all. I ended up having to pay over £90 more in addition to the payment made to Atlas. I could have obtained a similar car hire with alternative providers for only a few pounds more at the outset - much less than the £346 it eventually cost. Rip Off ! Avoid this company
After booking & paying on line for a hire car to be collected from Bristol Airport, I arrived to find an un-maned desk, after 30 mins of calling their help line from my mobile I received and answer, I was told they had no record of my booking, eventually I booked a car from another rental company. They would not reply to my emails & I eventually gave up chasing the money after 5-months of writing. Be warned
Having paid everything up front and paid for extra insurance to cover every eventuality, I was totally stunned to be asked for an extra 120 euros at the Go rental depot near Lisbon airport, This was for a compulsory full tank of diesel even though I covered less than 100km and the fuel gauge had hardly moved. I was unable to cancel as I had already paid , and I was unable to get back to the airport. I have complained to Atlas choice but have received neither confirmation nor reply.
I rented a car through Atlas in Reno and paid in advance. A week before pick up, I saw a CHEAPER rate offered on the same car by Atlas so I requested a refund under their BEST PRICE GUARANTEE - via email to the address given and received a reply they would respond withing 48-72 HOURS 4 days later later and I was still waiting for a response so I called their customer service Department in ENGLAND at MY own EXPENSE since they have NO way to contact them in the USA. Was promised an immediate response to my support ticket and its now a WEEK and still no response. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS...
After several back and forth emails Atlas Choice has finally agreed to honor their BEST PRICE Guarantee without restrictions and refund the difference in rental costs
I hired a Volkswagen Passat in October 2013 in Dubrovnik, Croatia through Atlas Choice. The car was completely battered, damaged on every panel. Fortunately I had this all recorded and photographed before taking away the car. I was told that I had to pay a further £425 as a deposit in addition to everything I had already paid to Atlas Choice for the reservation. This was a surprise but they would not let me take the car without paying this additional deposit, and assured me several times that it would be very simple to get my deposit back at the end. At the agreed time and date for the return of the car there was nobody in the office. They had a record of my departure flight so they knew that I could not stay any longer. I locked the car and left it outside the office and put the key through the letterbox. My deposit was not refunded so I complained to Atlas Choice. They acknowledged my complaint but made no progress and just told me I had to wait 28 days before they resolved the matter. After 28 days they still have no reason why the deposit had not been refunded. About six weeks after my complaint they responded stating falsely that the car had some documents missing and therefore I would receive nothing of the deposit back. This was a lie and it is incredible that it should take six weeks to realise that there is a missing document. It is also incredible that this should cost £425 It is clear to me now that I was just conned of the money. The voucher from Atlas Choice was supposed to cover everything that I ordered but when I arrived with my family they refused to let me take the car without paying the money. I believe they never had any intention of returning this money. Atlas Choice have been useless so as a result I am now taking a legal route (reporting it as fraud) with my credit card company I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND URGE OTHERS NOT TO EITHER
I am flying tomorrow at San Diego with my wife and 9 months old son. I booked car rental via atlaschoice for US$105. The email confirmation mentioned the following
"WHAT TO DO NEXT: Once we have confirmed your rental with our supplier, a rental voucher will be emailed to you - this will take 24/48 hours. Meanwhile, you can visit Access Your Booking on our website to view your booking status. If your booking status shows confirmed, please print two copies of your voucher and local terms and conditions of your booking. You need to take both copies of the voucher with you on your trip, as our rental partner will need to take one of the printed car rental vouchers before releasing the car to you."
So as any normal person would do after this is wait for the rental voucher to arrive in the email. 1 day passed by. No voucher. 2 days passed by. Nothing. 3. 4. 5days passed by and nothing came in.
I called customer service and found out that they have one of the most rude people in the world. So the 3rd day I called, they said that they are waiting for the confirmation.
4thday I called same thing.
5th day I called the customer service rep gives me 2 options 1. Cancel the booking. That's ridiculous. Rates elsewhere are 250$ 2. Book from another supplier at double the rate I was earlier guaranteed. What really? This is how travel brokers operate? Guys go to other sites like kayak.com, expedia.com, priceline.com, hotwire.com and u will know that all the reservations they make are confirmed unlike yours where there is no guarantee.
This is my first and last experience with these guys. Never coming to them back again.
Avoid them at all costs and just make booking on any other sites.
If something is too good to be true, then its probably not.
I booked a rental car through atlas. At the time it said they would request the price offered from their partners. The email I received stated I should get a confirmation email letting me know which partner I was renting from withing 3 days. I did not get this email. I needed to know if I had the car or not. After contacting them through their contact method, they do not have a USA number to call, and explaining and correcting several times what I was asking for, I canceled. This led to a $30 cancellation fee. Ironically that email stated what I wanted to know in the first place. It also stated I would be refunded my rental fee immediately and 10 days later still have not got it. They need a better contact method and better customer service.
I rented a car at Pisa airport. The paperwork says pick up at Pisa Airport but that's not true. You have to drive my minibus for ten mins to get the car. Not the end of the world but when I got to the Pisa rental office, I was told that their credit card machine was not working because it had been raining and the only way for me to rent a car was to leave my passport! I refused so we went back to the airport where we had no choice but to hire a car for three times the price.
When I asked Atlas to pay the difference, instead of taking this on the chin and offering great customer service, they pointed me to the small print and refused to help. Awful awful service all round. Yes, credit card machines can go on the blink but the company should have paid the difference of the new rental rate which I had to pay as I had not booked online. All I got was a online email saying that the company was sorry on behalf of their supplier. That's just not good enough when I'm an addition €200 out of pocket. This company needs to understand that unhappy customers are not a good thing to have.
A VERY disappointing experience and I have no plans to use them again.
1. I was told to pay a deposit for a full tank and to then expect a refund for unused fuel, no refund ever received.
2. Paying double insurance cover for the same thing, first time on booking and subsequently on pick-up.
The best excuse ever, "you should have read the contract". Absolutely lame, expected to read the contract after a flight then walking around out of the airport to find the car hire booth and with two kids on the tow. Ridiculous and never again.
Initially I was a little hesitant whether or not to use Atlas as there are some bad reviews and the rental is very cheap, however it all went really well. The staff were friendly, the process of picking up the delivering the car was quick and hassle free and we had a great car to drive around in with no millage limit. All good :)
The car picked up off site. It was not apparent where we should meet with the representative so we were wandering around for a while until we came upon the telephone number to contact. We were collected quite quickly but the car was not ready and we were waiting around in the sun - nowhere to wait indoors - for 30 minutes while the car was brought round.
