From the moment I contacted them Audio Affair have been nothing but helpful. As a total audio novice they guided me through the products available, spent time discussing different options and have put together a fantastic package. As an overseas customer I could not be happier with the service or shipping.
Although I live outside of Europe, Audio Affair provided a safe and secure transaction, financial and otherwise, and my purchase was expedited to my address quickly, once I provided adequate documentation of my identity and address. A very safe and dependable merchant, which I will recommend highly to my friends and co-workers.
Order was delayed due to supplier problems, but after a quick email exchange the guys pulled out all the stops and I even got a personal delivery from the supplier a few evenings later with the product in hand. The supplier lived closeby, and whilst I can't guarantee you will receive such service above and beyond the norm, I get the feeling these guys really care about each and every order.
Can certainly recommend them.
In an age when internet merchants sprout up on almost a daily basis promising the earth and delivering little, Audio Affair is a rare find - a glimmering, sparkling gem in a digital rock garden of mediocrity.
The test of a good company is not what they do when things go right but how they behave when things go wrong.
There was a mistake with my order - not AA's fault but a mix up with their supplier.
However AA manfully stepped up to the plate and took full responsibility, delivering the correct unit in less than 24 hours without equivocation.
They even threw in an expensive shiny cable as good measure to compensate for my inconvenience.
Their knowledge is also first class.
Like many people I am time short and I do not have the luxury of auditioning mountains of equipment.
John though listened carefully to my requirements and after some thought assuredly put together an excellent system within my budget.
I would happily recommend Audio Affair without hesitation. Alex.
With some stunning high end stock, some of it is quite pricey, so when I found the DVD player I was looking for in the bargain section for a fraction of the new price I was delighted. It arrived really fast and of course works beautifully.
My only issue was a missing of remote, so I called up to query. Between us there had been a misunderstanding of what was included, but they were great and we soon had it sorted out and I now have a brand new Arcam remote.
Ill definitely use them again for future purchases
when I rang up to check on an item, very helpful, and took the time. Mentioned that if I got order in by lunch, it would be out the door that pm. Later that day got a text to say will be deliverd next day. That evening got another text letting me know within an hour window, what time the item would be at my door ( and it was) beat that !
I am extremely pleased with the service I have received from Richard today regarding my order.
Because of his diligence in noticing my mistake on the order in due time he has saved me from having to book extra leave or rearranging the delivery for a different day.
Richard always got back to me in a timely manner and when he said he would and was always available for me when I called him.
His customer service was excellent and I believe he is a great asset to your company.
Many thanks again.
I ordered an Icon Audio PS3 phono amplifier from the Audio Affair internet site. The item was quoted as 7-14 days delivery and I was delighted when the item arrived within the time scale. The purchase went smoothly and I would highly recommend Audio Affair. Icon Audio should be congratulated for producing a top quality product, the sound and manufacturing quality are first rate, a great purchase.
My purchase consisted of a Musical Fidelity M6I amplifier.
My order was successfully placed and dispatched by the guys at Audio Affair for delivery the next day.
Unfortunately DPD, the courier used for delivery, managed to deliver to the wrong address. While DPD's attitude to the problem was rather blase to say the least, Dan at Audio Affair was tenacious in his quest to resolve the problem and get my amp to me...hats off to the guys at Audio Affair for all they did to bring the issue to a satisfactory conclusion...i'll definitely be using these guys again.
DPD however, can burn in hell.
I didn't spend a lot of money at Audio Affair but the treatment I received from all those I had dealings with made me feel like a valued customer who had spent thousands! Communications were always prompt and courteous and led to a very satisfactory conclusion. And to round it all off, Richard carried my purchase to my car.
All in all, I was more than pleased with Audio Affair and look forward to visiting them again. I would certainly recommend the store to others 10/10!
Bought Audio Technica LP120 turntable online and paid PayPal. There was a weekend deal I undertook for extra 10% off. However this was nothing compared to the ordeal I have been through since placing this order. I wish I had paid more and bought this from elsewhere as Audio Affair's customer service team's ability to get back to customers as they say so is dreadful.
Initially, due to un verified address on my PayPal account, I received an email the next day asking for proof of address. Replied to this promptly, with no response via email whatsoever for two days, so I was non the wiser if proof of address was sufficient or not or when item was actually being sent.
THree days after order was placed, I called to enquire when item was being sent. Audio Affair rep confirmed he had seen the email (shame he didn't actually answer it) and would action it to be sent. Eventually, now three days after it should have been received the item eventually turned up.
Connected turntable to PC via USB to see no signal coming through on the right channel. Thought it may be a USB issue, so tried connecting via phono leads and same issue. Tried connecting via amp and it was intermittent right channel.
I researched online and found this was a common fault with this turntable. Called Audio Affair next day to report issue and request fix/replacement. I was advised th9is would need to come back for the turntable specialist to look out and he would confirm fault and send replacement if confirmed.
I was then sent an email I had to complete. I replied to this with all of the information and once again got no response, like the first time. I waited another 2-3 days then had to ring them and chased to find out when they were arranging collection. First time I was told someone would ring me back that day, which they didn't, so had to call again the next day.
Eventually spoke to member of staff who once again said they had my email and woudl arrange collection that very same day. I left the turntable on reception at my company and low and behold no courier turned up.
I had to call Audio Affair AGAIN to find out why courier hadn't arrived. I was then told collection was missed as they came to the back door. Collection was arranged again for the Monday, as this was a Friday.
Item was collected on Monday. 1 week later, the following Monday I had to phone AGAIN for another update. I spoke to John and clearly explained I was awaiting confirmation of the fault on a returned product. He said he would ask Dan to call me back. Dan then called me back some hours later as he'd heard there was an issue with courier and the collection. I was very frustrated by this point, as clearly internal communication is as much of an issue as external communication. I explained I hadn’t said there was an issue with the courier, as he himself had sorted that the week before, so they should have the item back now. I was ringing to ask if the fault had been confirmed.
I was then informed it had gone back to Audio Technica for them to also verify the fault Audio Affair had found. I asked how long this would take and Dan didn't know. So the turntable specialist did not honour what he had said and action a replacement being sent, it was simply sent back (which confirms they acknowledge the fault existed) and no-one at any point thought to call me with an update or let me know what was going on.
I said I would like a replacement sent as the product was clearly faulty for Audio Affair to send it back to Audio Technica and I wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. Audio Affair said they had to wait to confirm if I had damaged it myself or not. By this point I was losing patience fast due to being messed around for so long and never been kept up to date with what was happening and now I still wasn’t going to be sent a replacement.
I mentioned that under distance selling regulations I was entitled to a full refund (even it it was open), additionally I had been sent faulty goods and I am covered by my credit card company on faulty purchases, so if I didn’t have a suitable response with an ETA for replacement that day I would simply seek the money back and buy another one elsewhere.
Eventually I had to ring AGAIN later that day for an update as no-one called me back. I was then told by John that a replacement was going to be sent out to me now, but they had to wait for stock coming in again. This could be 3-4 more days.
It amaze me how every time I ring Audio Affair there have been developments, but no-one EVER takes the time to call the customer and potentially completely prevent this terrible review of their business.
It is now 3 weeks since I placed the original order and I still don't have a replacement turntable for the faulty one.
To be continued....!!
22nd JULY UPDATE:
It is now four weeks since I posed the above review and 7 weeks since I placed my order with audio affair and I am STILL without a turntable. I have been given numerous dates when these were supposed to be landing in the UK - both of which didn't materialise. The second of which I was promised the product early this week and it's late Wed and no sign of the turntable and no response to email sent in to John 24 hours ago to explain why. I don't reccomend anyone to buy from this company, it's terrible.
27th JULY UPDATE:
My frustration with this company just continues to worsen!! I was promised the replacement turntable early w/c 22nd July. Nothing arrived. No email or phone call. I then emailed the company and no-one responded all week and never has since! Then on Friday 26th July, I get a text message from the courier company to say the parcel is arriving Monday. No-one even called to apologise it is a further week late and no-one thought to actually ring and check Monday is a suitable day for me to receive the parcel. It was simply sent un-announced and I only knew of this though the courier company themselves. I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS DISORGANISED COMPANY EVER AGAIN.. IF YOU WANT A GOOD SERVICE I SUGGEST OTHER POTENTIAL HI-FI CUSTOMERS DO THE SAME!!
Ordered a record which was not in stock after they checked. They went through all connections they had but couldn't find a copy. Customer-service then offered other items, with a discount because of the situation, or a refund. Excellent communication and a very helpful advisor (Thanks, John!). Changed the order into another record. It all went smoothly.
After some initial issues regarding some Quad Classic 11L speakers (colour matching), I ordered a pair of Tannoy Revolution DC6s and Atacama speaker stands. John was on hand to advise and help throughout. Perfectly happy with the end result. Many thanks for your help!
I bought some KEF speaker stands which were not only a decent price but were also delivered very quickly (full tracking info was provided and the courier sent me a text the day before to confirm they'd arrive the following day. I was even given the option to change the delivery date and then received a 1hr delivery window on the actual delivery date).
When I contacted Audioaffair with a query about the speaker stands (they didn't appear to fit my speakers even though they're advertised as being compatible), they couldn't be more helpful. They contacted KEF on my behalf, provided the answer that I was looking for and even offered to get the KEF engineer to talk me through the correct set-up process (thanks John).
Based on this experience, I'll be shopping here again and would have no hesitation recommending them!
Just like to say a big thanks to John, he goes the extra mile for you. And sorry for my resent outburst on here. I'd like to thank his boss for making the final decision, and making me one happy chappy. If your in the market for hi fi, this is the shop for you. Excellent. Thanks again
I purchased a TEAC DSD DAC from Audio Affair as an overseas purchaser. I am in Australia. From the first communication, I found Audio Affair to be attentive, polite, and accommodating, and comfortable dealing with an overseas customer.
The item arrived within the timeframe originally specified, and the DAC is exactly as described.
Minor problems with Customs because of a misunderstanding about the invoice were sorted out within 30 minutes because of Audio Affair's prompt response to an email.
A good company to deal with if you need to purchase items from a 230-240 volt country.
They are also equipped to remove VAT, if you are outside the EU.
I ordered an HRT MicroStreamer on 27 March, which never arrived. Initially it was sent Royal Mail rather than via courier (the company admitted this was a mistake) a day later than promised on their website (they claim same day dispatch if orders are placed before 2pm – I placed mine at 10am but it was allegedly dispatched next day). It took them a week to send proof of delivery (after me requesting it 3 times when the item didn't arrive). Over a month later, the item has still not arrived and I am yet to receive a refund (which I was promised 10 days ago). This is simply unacceptable. Also, when I asked for a new item to be dispatched, the company said that they were not in stock, despite it being displayed as In Stock on their website (which makes me wonder if they ever actually had any stock in the first place!?!). Very poor customer service.
From the begining, i bought some speakers (Audio Engine A5) off of this company, no problem here.
Later my speakers broke, and when i first wrote to them they were very slow at picking up my complaint, but finally they contacted me.
We were having some difficulties with the manufacturers not being able to, or did not want to repair my speakers, but John (customer support) pushed them and would not allow them to slag off, he then made them send me some brand new A5+ instead of the original A5.
The only reason why i do not give them 5 stars is because they were way too slow in the begining and things first started happening when i wrote a bad review on trustpilot.
My first purchase from Audi Affair. I ordered a pair of Tannoy DC4Ts for the best price around, and only noticed I'd picked the wrong colour when I read the shipping notification from the courier (totally my fault, it was clearly stated in the order confirmation). I immediately hit the "reschedule delivery" option and contacted Audio Affair who were incredibly helpful and sorted it out for me with no fuss. The DC4Ts arrived the next week in light oak. I'll definitely buy from AA again.
I have received the best customer service and support from Audio Affair and more specifically from John who is an absolute star. Professional, courteous, considerate and very responsive to requests. I will certainly be buying from Audio affair again and I will be recommending them to my friends and colleagues.
Thank you very much John for your support, excellent customer service and professionalism.
20 days and still nothing. The worst thing is att they been saying that my delivery is on its way at least there times now. And then when i contact then wondering where my goods are they make stupid excuses saying that they ordered the wrong reciever from onkyo. It said on Audio Affairs webpage that they had the reciever in stock. So not only are they lying to you in e-mails and telephone bit also on the webpage.
I bought a pair of Audioengine A5 speakers more than 2 years ago. Very happy with their original service, good price, speedy shipping etc.
But recently the speakers broke (faulty amp I think) and they were still under the 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Audio Affair honour all the manufacturer warranties, so I sent the speakers back to them.
There was quite a delay in a decision whether to repair or replace them, but this was the manufacturer's fault. Audio Affair kept me up to date with what was happening. This took a while, as they were waiting on a shipment of parts and products from the manufacturer in the USA.
For my troubles and patience Audio Affair gave me a free pair of the Audioengine A5+, the newer, £100 more expensive model that replaced my A5. Came via next day shipping. I'm sure if it wasn't for the manufacturer being slow this would have been resolved a lot sooner. Currently listening to my new speakers and a happy customer now.
I ordered a pair of Partington Super Dreadnought, after asking a few questions by e-mail - which received a kind answer the same day.
Ordered in the morning, shipped in the afternoon, delivered at my house in France four days later with a week-end in the middle, that means within 2 working days.
Can't rate audio affair any higher. I've ordered a turntable and speakers from them and both times been given very honest and reasonable advice. Aimed towards getting me the most suited audio equipment for my budget. I'd recommend them to anyone and they are now my absolute go to company for any audio equipment.
So far I've ordered two products from Audio Affair; one amplifier and one pair of headphones. Both times I have had nothing but the most professional, courteous and first class service, specifically from John, who has been spoken highly of in other reviews before this one.
I agree with the other reviews completely when they say how much Audio Affair are willing to help and always put the customer first. One particular example can be found with my amplifier order. This amp was newly released, manufactured overseas and required international shipping, so I knew the wait would be longer than usual. But even so, Audio Affair, without any prompting from myself, processed a small cash refund to my account as an apology for the wait - this was despite the fact that the longer delivery time was through no fault of their own!
Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed by Audio Affair's consideration for their customer. Their choice of delivery service for my orders was also excellent (DPD next day), giving me text and email alerts with 1-hour delivery windows for my orders.
Audio Affair is probably the best company I've had the pleasure of ordering from, and they are firmly my number one choice if there is anything I would want to look for in the future. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else.
Hi everyone and a happy new year!
I had a problem with a new Onkyo TX-SR313 (the RCA Active Sub out was not working). I phoned Audio Affair and eventually agreed (because I had not reported the fault out of the box within 30 days) to get a part refund. Ok I've taken a bit of a hit, but from thier point of view, the Amp is part used.
I have now gone elsewhere, not because of bad service, but Richer Sounds in Southampton are easier to get to / from where I live. Ended up with a Pioneer VSX 922.
Thanks John from Audio affair for dealing with this troublesome matter. A happy customer now.
Initially, I intended to buy my hifi from one of the local (Scottish) hifi shops, but on researching the components, I came across Audio Affair who were offering competitive rates.
I mailed them a question.
John emailed back, and asked if he could ring me, and we arranged a time. When he rang, I felt immediately that this chap genuinely wanted to listen to me, to ensure that I ended up with a system which would suit me perfectly. How wonderful, these days, to find such a person!
Once the basics had been sorted out, John and I emailed almost daily. I was kept informed of exactly what was happening, and much valuable advice was given to me. Any worries or questions I had were explained clearly and kindly.
The eagerly awaited system arrived on time. The turntable and phono stage had already been set up before they left the shop: another thoughtful action. Everything was as it should be, and worked straight out of the box. A marvellous system indeed,
Audio Affair is, in my opinion, the model which sets the standard for customer service, and which others should strive to emulate.
I should especially like to thank John for the care he took over my purchase, and for proving to me that excellent customer service does, in fact, still exist.
I really cannot praise this company highly enough. Many thanks!
I find it hard to convey the level of service I received from this company. I checked them out on line and having read the reviews went ahead and ordered a 'fatman ivalve amp' Duly arrived in good time and worked perfectly....until....whoomph... not working. Time to test the customer service ! Penny is even better than the credits she receives on this review site. I called in the morning first thing and Penny arranged collection there and then....but... I had to go to work ( I'm field based and busy ) Well, by 11:00 the SAME morning Royal Mail Parcleforce were on my doorstep collecting the amp! New amp delivered in good time and music plays again. I would like to thank Penny for truly outstanding customer service and would recommend Audioaffair to anyone....(as long as Penny's still there!)
I recently purchased an Onkyo amp and wharfedale speakers from John at Audio Affair and he couldnt have been more helpful,Igot a great deal and lots of advice,It was like talking to an old friend. After I received the Onkyo I hade a few probs setting it up....due to the manual that came with it,you need a degree to understand it,but after a few calls talking again to John and the equaly helpful Richard I got it all sorted out.I realy cant recommend Audio Affair highly enough...I wish that everyone I dealt with provided this level of customer service,Thanks guys.
Wow super fast delivery and excellent service from John at audio Affair has confirmed that any audio needs i have in the future will lead me back to Audio Affair, even tho they are in the UK.
I bought a Focal 800W UK LE Special Edition Subwoofer from Audio Affair shipped to Perth Australia $500AUD cheaper than my local and regular audio supplier.
Thank you John for your professionalism and prompt service.
I have used Audio Affair several times with no issues, but the true test is when something goes wrong. I have had equipment fail and they have been faultless with their communuication and assistance. For this reason i will always make them my first port of call.
I would highly recommend Audio Affair for purchasing hi-fi equipment. I ordered some Focal speakers from them, and whilst they originally quoted 2-3 working days delivery, they arrived about a week later. Very helpful and efficient customer service. The only slight problem I did encounter was i did not receive a notification email with a tracking number for when my delivery was due. Thankfully, someone was around to accept it when it did arrive.
I would certainly use Audio Affair again, as they sell a very comprehensive range of good quality hi-fi products, at competitive prices. The website is easy to use and very informative for product reviews.
Ive been looking for an odd combinations of speakers and soundbars and Audio affair had exactly what i was looking for PLUS the correct audio receiver as a bundle. I found out that if i buy the receiver else ware it would be cheaper. i told the friendly sales guy this and without hesitation he price-matched it for me. I ordered before 2pm and my entire system was with me the next day at 11am. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I will buy from them again.
Very helpful service from Audio Affair - I initially bought some cable that had the wrong type of banana plugs for my amp (my error). Audio Affair were very helpful and quickly swapped over the cable with a replacement. Highly recommended
