The wall clock I ordered, for Eileen and Dave's wedding present, was gorgeous. I was worried that it wouldn't arrive in time, as I was travelling to the wedding and needed it earlier than expected, but customer services and parcel force pulled out all the stops and with the special instructions, the clock arrived a day early.
it was well packaged too, which satisfied me that it was in one piece.

I have nothing but good things to say about the experience of purchasing this set of drawers. It's a really solid, well made piece, and is real value for the price. The whole process was hassle free and the delivery guys were really nice and careful when moving it upstairs for us. Will be buying from you again!
The nest of tables we ordered were clearly damaged. While the design is such that the tables should be distressed the item was clearly damaged. On complaint staff of B&S tried to suggest the damage was part of the distressing process. This is clearly not the case. Continued objection caused me to suggest that I would return all the goods under distance selling legislation. B&S staff immediately agreed to replace the tables. Something that should have been done immediately and without argument that was clearly poorly founded.
The sofa I ordered on line was delivered three weeks ago. Although the sofa is very nice and you can tell it is well made, I have had no receipt, no Warranty details, no paperwork what so ever. I ordered a tv/hi if unit three weeks ago, received my order number via e mail the very next day but nothing since. I have tried to phone but the line is constantly busy.
I wondered it I had not paid up front and purchased on Credit I may have had a bit more info !

Still waiting for my purchase 4 weeks on. Website said 3-5 days delivery. Why I have been asked to rate even when I am still waiting for my purchase is beyond belief.
Checked online to track delivery, 3 different statements ranging from delivery 3 days previously to delivery in 6 weeks time. Useless.
When I rang to enquire when my purchase was to be delivered, the call centre had closed at 5 pm. Rang again during my working hours to be told they would ring me back. They obviously didn't know what had happened to my delivery. Had email confirmation that my delivery would be made within 48 hours on Wednesday. It is now Saturday evening.
Would never buy online from this company again.
Companies who cannot get online ordering right will not survive.
Have tried to give no stars but cannot.
Always found lots of things I could buy when looking round the store, lots of ideas, especially 'out of the box' inspiration. Service always has been knowledgeable and efficient.
Was looking for a small and relatively inexpensive dining table. Found the perfect one in store, went home, ordered online, requested the day of delivery and hey presto out popped a quality product. Although part of the B&S value range, its still very well made and looks quite expensive. Would recommend for anyone looking for a 4 seater dining table that they know is going to be bashed and drawn on by the kids!

Delivery: excellent. Our furniture turned up within the two hour time slot and was delivered in a B&S vehicle by two extremely helpful people who took time and trouble to do things right.
Overall: our first order from Barker & Stonehouse. It won't be the last!
It is pretty difficult to review when we haven't received our product. We accept that these things take time to manufacture and accepted the 8 week wait time, paid our money up front and then a week later got an email to say that we won't receive our bed for 6 months!!! So that's 6 months if our money sat in your account earning interest while we don't have a product to enjoy. Not acceptable.
The whole experience, from the initial web site fact finding missions to browsing the spacious well stocked showrooms to look at and sit on the real things, to the nuts and bolts of buying and managing the installations was a hugely enjoyable, stylish experience. It is no exaggeration to say that what might have been a chore was transformed by the whole staff into a really pleasurable experience. We cannot speak too highly of the floor staff, finance and delivery men who took mere 'delivery' to another level. In the first instance we were left to our own devices, as opposed to being pounced upon, until staff were required to answer queries. At such times we were graciously and expertly advised in all departments. All questions were answered honestly and without the usual crass sales bluff.
The purchases were made, installations arranged, changed accordingly and we were informed every step of the way by text. We were particularly impressed by the offer to deliver 'online purchases' (picked up on by diligent service) at the same time as the rest. The coordination of services was outstanding to the end point where the delivery was made precisely on time by the most obliging, civilised delivery men we have ever encountered in 30 years. This is something that MUST not be passed over but very definitely be passed on to the gentlemen concerned.
A most satisfying and unique experience and as such, we are more than willing to recommend this experience without reservation.
We're now begging the question, of course, "Is yours a Barker and Stonehouse?"
My purchase was very good as with all the furniture from Barker and Stonehouse .But i will never order on the internet as i had to go to the store to sort out delivery because the person i spoke to was so negative to say the least and needs a lesson in P.R.
Ordered bed online. Took two weeks to deliver. Just dumped in room by delivery drivers and expected to assemble it myself. Goods damaged. Had to email to arrange replacement. Company tried to arrange a repair. I refused, I would not have purchased damaged goods if seen in store. Belongs in a skip. Company now agreed to replace but will take a further two weeks minimum. Still waiting for date. Why would I want to pay for goods that you have damaged to then be repaired?? I paid for and request First Quality merchandise. As of 15 April, a further 2 weeks later, still awaiting to hear as to when a replacement bed will be located and delivered. I am disappointed that your after sales service is also taking so many weeks to rectify the issue, with no resolution yet in sight, and I have to contact you repeatedly on a weekly basis for an update. To date, I have fully paid hundreds of pounds for an item and still await your rectification. And yes, it is still left where it was dropped awaiting collection. Am astounded that you expect customers to assemble what is very expensive furniture, and make no easily viewable reference.
The clock we bought was advertised on their website to be 72 hours delivery, this is untrue. Me and my husband had ordered some stools 4 weeks earlier which came into store around the time of when the clock should have arrived. We travelled to the leeds store and I asked the really unhelpful salesman at the door when the clock should arrive and he said the delivery times are never correct online, and he didn't know when it would come into store. I have a few gripes with b&s salespeople in general with their poor customer service. The day we picked our stools up we walked into the Leeds store and were ignored as the group of salespeople were chatting, we picked up the stools from the upstairs counter to be approached on our way down by one of the ignorant salespeople and asked where our invoice was? He told us to wait there (i guess because he thought we had stolen them?) while he rang upstairs, they obviously do not communicate with one another as there wasn't anything to print off. After 5 minutes of him challenging this on the phone he then waved us away. Rude is how I would describe your sale staff! This isn't the first time we have had issues at Leeds, one occasion led to the lady ordering the wrong wardrobe. As quite regular customers at b&s I would say your staff are prob the worst! It's not always easy to recognize your staff either and if they are in a position of management they will not answer your questions or look for stock, they are far too important to do that so you therefore wait again for somebody lower down the ladder to be free! Very poor and will think twice about ordering online and definitely visiting the Leeds branch.

But arrived following week after my party!
To make matters worse they said my bank hadnt approved the payment. When i followed it up with my bank they said it had been authorised.!!!
Four main points of criticism -
Initially not a very helpful girl answering the phone for Barker & Stonehouse.
Secondly, needed photographic ID to collect my purchases but hadn't been told about this beforehand.
Sales gentleman unfriendly towards me when I asked for assistance to lift the two tables to the back of my car, parked at the back of the store.
Lastly, came away from store feeling like a second rate undervalued customer!
Ordered Phillip stark ghost chairs and stools. Kept up to date with order. Got a text on day of delivery with time slot. Driver rang 30 minutes before. Very impressed with chairs and customer services.
Great experience and helpful response in sorting out the mix up in my order. I went to Leeds to buy originally and the staff were so unhelpful and clearly only interested in their own commission I walked straight out and ordered online in the carpark!
Overall I'm pleased with this online purchase. The furniture matched our idea of what we wanted. We had reservations buying online but we are very pleased. Delivery was quick and easy. I had to follow up a missed call on my mobile but the people were friendly and helpful.
