BBC is one of the few companies reporting the reliable and fair news about the world. I trust them.
Far to much crap on and it's not worth £145.
BBC I player is getting worse! Used to use it a lot because of the subtitled program's but now they are too far out of sync it's unbearable!
Will be deleting the app.
I've always enjoyed the programmes, mainly the comedy. The BBC Iplayer is great! I'll only give BBC 4 stars, due to the constant loop of repeats.
Radio 5 Live are the best for sports commentary. Talksport simply cannot compete, their commentators are amateurish (apart from Andy Gray) in comparison. I do listen to Talksport but have to switch over for commentary where possible. Bet the government will force the BBC to offload the coverage as its so good because they will say it has an unfair advantage, never mind the listeners though?
I am using the online news service. The articles are good and ballanced. However, some of the news pieces are not replaced flor days and the selection of news items is very short,
I have sent my comments to BBC few times and have never received a reply, even an automated "thank you".
i fill robbed every time i buy my licence fee i dont have much to watch 1/2 programs in the morning if im really lucky and i mean really i may find some thing to watch on bbc 1 or 2, and now ive got my husband moaning there not showing the full f1 races , and if that wasnt bad enough its the sports that take place over any thing else and it has to been showen on more then one channel drives me mad drop the fee once and for all i can think what to do with £145 thats for sure
Excellent website for impartial information on all news stories. I have their website as my homepage.
Good website, lots of information I need and simple layout, however the search needs improving as I can't always get what I am looking for there.
It is vital that we fight off any attempts in the future to diminish the BBC. It is a great organisation that has given us independent news, great programmes to watch and to listen to and one of the most fantastic websites in the Web Wide World (yes - that was deliberate for a bit of fun and to see if you are still awake...).
It is the envy of the World and - you can watch programmes with no commercial breaks - Hooray!!!! (Make your cup of tea in advance....or use your recorder....)
Strange never minded paying the licence fee , when you have a company who consistantly just make superb programmes and have no peers , Quality and the best pictures off all providers.
It is good most of the time, but occasionally it gets too biased for my taste.
William Thompson found this review useful
The BBC is great but it is about time they stopped charging the great British public for the privilege of watching. It is the 21st century after all.
Get your finger out BBC
Great page covering most sports. Would like more on Rugby league championship division, particulalrly Dewsbury Rams. Why not consider featuring a team a week, a la Premiership football, looking at the community actions and grass roots supporters.
I've not owned a telly for many years and afaik programming is pretty dismal these days. However BBC deserve 5 stars for some of the best comedy ever produced in the past - there are too many to list but the likes of fawlty towers, black adder, red dwarf and man many more.....
The BBC has had its day. Its time to close it down especially as it costs £150yr for multiple repeats, biased news, overpaid celebs, newsreaders to tour the world for a few seconds on the news etc. Also why do we have so many presenters of each show. By this i mean such as F1 where there are at least three and motorbike races where there are 3 or 4!!! The BBC doesnt give equal support to sports. Their red button gives info n cricket and other minor sports but not to Motorbike racing which gets 1-200,000 at Motogp or Superbike races equal to F1!!!! The old farts in the BBC are out of touch with their customers !!!!!!! Lets get rid of it.
They are still as biased as ever as at Sept 2012. The boring old farts at the BBC still only indulge in such as public school sports like Cricket, Union Rugby or Horsejumping etc. Winning the MotoGP or WSB championship is much more of a public event these days and not so boring. The crowds are bigger at the events but the BBC still do not give them a mention. Its about time we got something for our money other than flower shows, cricket and other programs that cater for the few not the masses !!!! Get rid of the totally biased male newsreaders now !
Whether in Australia or any other city of the world, BBC provides the best news service. After 15 minutes twice a day all that is relelvant is conveyed. Other stations like Classics and BBC4 are on our web for streamins as well.
Expensive, always on about 'rights issues' which marks a dying beast trying to retain its existance. Respected and admired historically, and still very worthy overseas services - about to be culled. It never changes its attitude on TV - same old, same old, and boring programmes. Never feel inclined to watch TV now, and the radio is becoming trash to especially local!
I listen a lot to recorded talks and CD's as well as watch DVD's documentary items!
Don't really watch much TV but BBC 3 is good for comedy, especially Family Guy of a weekend! EastEnders is utter trife on the other hand, how on earth this crap is still broadcast is beyond me.
Radio 1 is good for the essential mix once a weeks and the specials from clubs and festivals, but after its recent sell out to dub-step I don't think I would bother listening any other time than when the essential mix is on.
I think that if we are paying for a TV license then the public should have more say on what is broadcast.
but I believe the cuts in the license fee are having a very negative impact on the service offered, particularly in the TV service. More repeats and less new comedies or new dramas = very dull terrestrial TV
I travel the world a lot, and now days you don't even need to, to understand the differences in the world broadcasters.
And, which is why most people believe the BBC is the middle of the road, accurate and reliable. It really does have the 'it hasn't really happened until you see it on the beeb' effect.
I enjoy everything that the BBC has to offer and welcome paying for it. Which is why it is the most respected news organisations in the world.
And you know they are getting it right, when some people are complaining about it being too left wing and others too right wing.... which, yes, puts it right down the middle.....
Well done Aunty...
No option but to subscribe ! Don't appreciate the pro left wing, Labour bias from most presenters ! Where is the supposed neutrallity and balance ?
Better now the news comes from the north of the country, too focussed on the south.
We are all compelled to pay for BBC output via the tv licence. I do feel therefore that the BBC has some obligation to take account of the moral majority. Recently, however, in their BBC 2 programme the Great British Menu they twice featured the barbaric French product in what is supposed to be a British menu. Foie Gras is illegal to produce in this country because all Governments deem the cruelty underlying it's production to be cruel. Organisations like the RSPCA and Compassion for World Farming are seeking to have it banned at European level. And yet the BBC is happy to be seen to be promoting this barbaric product. It only carries on being produced because of the difficulties of getting changes to Free Trade Laws where the lowest common denominator of ethical standards are allowed to continue. And we all now how the French like to be French !
It is of no surprise to me, that the B.B.C., and I.T.V., ARE LOSING VIEWERS. Get back to what you did best. Make good, Comedy, Drama etc and stop relying on American junk to get you out of the HOLE that you have Dug for your failing service.
Used to be a reliable website, but heading the same way as Ceefax. Now always poor and awkward to use and very out of date.
A great source of information and a brilliant set of channels. Easy lay out makes it easy to use.
Just been to MediaCity, Salford to watch A Question of Sport being recorded, had a really good time, found the staff there to be friendly and helpful and a great show to watch!
