I tried to book a hotel room in Chicago, and received an error message and phone number. That's it. The error message itself was nothing more than a number and message to please call so your "agent can put your booking back on track"
Turns out they took funds out of my account twice with no notification, no receipt,...nothing. I had NO reservation but spent 2x what the hotel room cost. I got an "I'm sorry" and told to wait 10 days for a refund. They neither tried to get this reservation with the hotel directly nor tried to provide an alternate reservation.
Had I not of called to try and still book the room, I would have never known Bookit.com had taken funds out of my account. And they couldn't even get that hotel, nor did they try and assist with another one, so right now I am out almost $200 with nothing to show for it, but their "I'm sorry, please wait 10 days for your refund"
Avoid this site, and use a more quality travel site, they are out there. You don't need this hassle. Who takes money from a customer and provides no receipt or notification???? And gives nothing in return but a 10 day waiting period for a refund
Turns out also, to do a reservation manually on the site is a $25. So it fails to complete online....then you have to pay additional funds for an agent to do it? Hmmmmmm.........

worse experience before traveling with a travel agency. Get better training and get things done right the first time and not waste people times. People book vacation to relax not to be stressed out over the phone for hours.
I had booked a reservation with them a month ago and saw a better deal on their site at another hotel and therefore decided to make a change to my reservation. I cancelled the original reservation and created a new one through their site. I was charged a $19.95 cancellation fee which was stated on their policy page. However, since I rebooked with them at another hotel I would of thought that maybe they could of let me slide on the cancellation fee.
I wrote customer service an email and it did take 7 days for a response, but they did respond and as a one-time courtesy credited my account. Appreciated! Will use again.
I prebooked a hotel in July for a trip my wife and I were taking this month (November). When I got to the hotel, they informed me that the credit card I had on hand was not the card that was used to secure the booking. I thought it was weird because I only have a Visa and MC and they said an AMEX was used for the booking; The AMEX card that was supplied to the hotel was declined. After telling them to charge the card I had on hand (so my Wife and I could go to sleep), I looked back at my credit card statement only to find out that I was actually charged! So, I called Bookit.com to get it resolved. Duringmy first call, the rep (Megan) sounded tired and unmotivated. She referred me to another number because she couldn't help me (turns out, she was just being lazy and didn't want to help me). To make it worse, she actually yawned while on the phone!! When I called the number she provided, it was for a cruise ship promo or something. So, I called them back again and got someone different who actually took my information and tried to help me. However, they tried to tell me my booking doesn't exist. What's crazy is - not only was my card charged, but I was staring at my confirmation email while on the phone. So basically I was charged by bookit, they didnt book my hotel, and when i called them out on it - they acted like they didnt even see my booking and don't have information about my card being charged. Sounds like Bookit.com has some integrity issues! That's okay though- this is what good credit card companies are for (to deal with Frauds).
We purchase way in advance tickets for our family (10 people) all inclusive Xmas vacations in Punta Cana a few months ago.
This week, when I went to check again the booking status, as we had made 3 payments, we found out that although we had the hotel reservation from Dec 18 to 25, the Air Canada air tickets had been changed to leave on Dec 19 and return on the 26!!! We called Bookit, who seemed very apologetic, and said they will call us back within the next 24 to 48 hours to see how they can arrange the situation.
48 hours later, and since they never called, we called back, only to be told that they are not responsible, and there is nothing they can do. They ask us to call Air Canada to arrange the situation..even though we purchased the ALL INCLUSIVE from them!!!
When we sais we will call the hotel to see if they can extend 1 night, BOOKIT girl said we have to call them back, as we may be charged fees because we changed the reservation!!!! Are you kidding me?
The cherry on the sundae is that they got the last payment from our credit card this week, as we find out our situation..I have the nasty feeling that since they have been paid the full amount, they have nothing to do!
I sincerely hope they read this and DO SOMETHING to improve their service.
We have had quite a terrible experience with BookIt's service overall (minus the third phone call we made - the woman was very nice and patient). We messed up a name on one of our flight tickets and called in to change it. While it's understandable that we would get charged a $25 fee for needing to fix our mistake, we never agreed to pay an additional $100 for a change in ticket price (if we were told at that time, we would have opted to go straight through United and gotten the original value). The woman on the line told us that there would be no additional amount (either she straight up lied to us or didn't make it clear that bookit would not charge us an additional, but the airline would). We didn't know there had been additional charges until we checked our credit card statement. The ticket amount was $100 more expensive. I called three more times after that to nicely tell them that we hadn't agreed to any of this and the phone reps were rude, short and not helpful at all. I asked if I could get a transcript of all of the previous conversations to show them we had not agreed to the change in price, the last rep said she submitted a request and that I should receive it by the morning. 3 days later, I have still not received it. We recently found 3 more $8.99 airline insurance charges on our credit card. All we want at this point is a refund of the price increase, or at least recorded proof that we agreed to it (which oh wait, conveniently will never be provided to us). We are REALLY hoping that these extra airline insurance charges that we did not agree to aren't from BookIt or there will be actual angry phone calls to come.
I guarantee you that the people giving Bookit negative reviews are a) bitter people with nothing else to do. B) never used the site. C) business competitors attempting to sabotage Bookit.com. To have used this site for travel ranging from Florida to Hawaii and I have never been let down in any way at any time. Exceptional customer service, great payment options (such as Pay Delay), and savings far beyond any other site I've booked travel with. No doubt a 5 star experience
Never again. The site sucks. The people answering the phone are complete idiots. Booked a trip. Tried to modify the dates literally 5 minutes later. Web site would not work to allow me the modification. Called to modify. Couldn't help me, so I cancelled. Now mind you the cancellation was 15 minutes after the booking. Charged me a $19.95 fee. Would not wave it.
I booked a hotel in Chicago with this site. When I saw the deal this site has $10 off if you booked 2 or more nights. However, during the process of booking and my 5 minute research into the hotel that I was booking, that $10 disappeared. In the end, I accidently booked the hotel for a price with was more ($30) expensive than booking with the hotel. I emailed BookIt an hour later and presented my case with the screen shot of the reservation from the hotel because my hotel was on the "guaranteed lowest price" list. Its been 2 weeks and they still have not gotten back to me. Terrible customer service or should I say no customer service at all. The price is deceiving! Will never book a hotel from this site again. Hope you don't have the same experience.
My wife and I booked an "all inclusive" trip with BookIT that included airfare. The airfare that was included with the package you sold us was going into the wrong city. We were not informed of this problem until it was too late. I received an email saying that I had until 8pm of that day to change my flight information or I would have to pay penalty fees. I got this email 3 hours before the 8pm deadline!!!!
Why would they sell a "all inclusive" package that included airfare to the wrong city???? I called and spoke with customer service and was told that it was too late to change without paying fees and the only option was for me to pay penalty fees or to have a ferry take us from the airport we were being flown into to the city we booked our vacation in... This would require us to wake up at 2am the day we were supposed to leave which is not acceptable. This was our HONEYMOON trip we booked. The customer service was horrible. They sold us a package with the wrong airfare, then when we were booking the trip the website crashed so we had to sit on hold with customer service for a hour, then customer service said ok you are good to go everything is booked and confirmed... Then days later we get an email with a 3 hour notice that they sold us the wrong plane tickets???? Customer service told us it was our fault because we acted as our own travel agent by booking online.. Their website did not give any options for where to fly into or what time to fly. It just said heres your all inclusive trip and airfare comes with it.
This was a horrible experience. I cancelled my reservations with them and now am scrambling to find another trip for my wife for our honeymoon.
I made a reservation for our family vacation on Tuesday night. The reason I wanted to use Bookit.com because they were offering BillMeLater service that allowed us to pay off our vacation in 9 months without interest.
That night I received two confirmations from BillMeLater that I was charged $2866 twice. It was late, and I decided to call in morning. In the morning I called Bookit.com to find out why I did not receive any confirmation and why BillMeLater charged me twice.
Bookit.com representative told me that they do not have my reservation. I told her that I have a proof from BillMeLater (twice) that I made a reservation. E-mail from BillMeLater states that charge came from Bookit.com. The representative called BillMeLater, and we were on a three-way call. BillMeLater rep. said that there were two transactions at the same time from Bookit.com. I asked Bookit.com rep. to cancel one transaction and keep the 2nd one. She said that she has to cancel both transactions, and it will take 30 days for it to clear at BillMeLater. When I asked if I can still buy my package for the same price I bought last night, she said no because price is about $400 more now, and they have no record of my reservation. I asked her how it can be because they charged BillMeLater twice, and she said that it was their system error.
I asked to speak with a supervisor because I did not want to pay extra $400 for the package that I've paid last night for $2866. While I waited for Bookit.com supervisor, BillMeLater rep. told me that I won’t be able to use BillMeLater because Bookit.com charged me twice, and I’m over my BillMeLater limit now. So I was screwed by Bookit.com on both end! They wanted me to pay $400 more for my package and now I could not use BillMeLater services!
Bookit.com supervisor Jennifer came on the line, and told me that there is nothing they can do, and if I want that package I will have to pay $400 extra. I asked why I have to do that, and her answer was that they never received my reservation, and price changed overnight. I told her that Bookit.com charged BillMeLater (twice), and there is a proof that charge came from Bookit.com. She did not want to listen, and became very rude and irate telling me that she cannot do anything to help me. After that I asked to speak with someone higher than her. I waited another 7 minutes, but Bookit.com rep got on a line, and said that they can lower my price from $400 to $200 (10 minutes ago they could not do anything!). I was so tired of arguing with these people, so I said OK.
So, I end up paying $200 over the initial price that I’ve paid a night before, plus I had to use my credit card instead of BillMeLater. I got screwed by Bookit.com on both ends there. I will never use them again!
I just got back from my all inclusive vacation to the Dominican Republic that I booked through bookit.com. I am very satisfied with the price I paid, the whole package itself, and the fact that everything I was suppose to get via my package I got. I would say my only issue would be the transfer company that is used between the airport and the resort. I feel that if I'm paying good money per person for the added transfer, the minivans should be in way better shape. From the airport to the resort was almost a two hour ride and the mini van we were in was run down and very uncomfortable. The minivan trip from the resort to the airport was no better, due to the fact the AC barely worked and the van had a minor break down, which after fixing the problem made the AC work even less....it was very hot that day. All in all I will definitely use bookit.com again for future vacations!
I booked hotel with Bookit.com with best price guarentee and few hours later I found another website that offer same type of room but less money than bookit charged us. However, when we contacted bookit.com prep to inform them, bookit.com rep denied to match it and credit us 10% as stated on their website as best rate and guarantee. We are very disappointed with what bookit.com rep. So everyone beware of what bookit.com stated on their website.
I had the greatest experience working with Bookit.com and will absolutely use them again. I did not book any airline deals with them, but did book an all-inclusive in Cancun. I unfortunately had to cancel. I read previous reviews on bookit.com's refunds taking forever, not mine. They refunded my money within 3 days. I understand people mainly write reviews when they are super frustrated but I just had to let people know that bookit.com is not bad. The reviews were making them seem completely horrible. Hopefully bookit.com will step out of the 1-2 star rating, because they are totally worth a try.
Used them twice for simple hotel reservations:
Last August for Reno Atlantis, no glitches in the reservation and they beat the prices offered on every other site I ran. Booked a nice spa package for a weekend getaway.
Just used them again for a two day business reservation on a busy weekend in Reno when lots of hotels had Saturday booked. Did the "four star mystery hotel" and got the concierge floor at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino for about $68 a night including breakfast buffet for two...best rooms at GSR Hotel (3.5 stars) for about motel pricing. I read the reviews they post for the mystery bookings and if you know the hotels in the area you can usually tell which one they are...
I saw some of the snarling feedback on more " complex travel arrangements but they have come through for me twice now, beating the more well known travel discount sites.
Saved me hundreds of dollars so far in simple room bookings.

I usually use cheap Caribbean ..This time book it was a little lower so we went with them.. booking was easy we knew what we wanted. They split the payments also which was good. We ran into a problem when we needed to change a name because someone dropped out..we called and their customer service wouldn't give us the time of day. Not even a suggestion of or a ounce of help. They blamed united and united blamed them. Go with cheap Caribbean their service has been so much better in any issues like this. It makes me nervous that if anything goes wrong in Mexico they wont care. I wont use them again...
p.s when I wrote this review on another site book it wrote:
"Our sincerest apologies. This should not have happened and we would like to make it right. Please email your name and booking ID to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may make this right. Thank you!"
Until this day we still haven't heard back from them.....nothing..I have traveled many times...never had this.
Really, really unhappy with my BookIt experience. Started with the reservation process. My wife and I wanted to visit our son in NYC on the night of Sept. 27. Through Google I ended up at your site. Placed a reservation for LaQuinta on W34th Street for that night… or at least I thought I did. Saw two days later that I had a reservation for the night of Sept. 29 (tonight). I assume it was "my bad." The error cost us about $80 more for the night. Roughly $20 for cancellation and then a confusing reason for the rest. Upon arrival at the hotel on the morning of Sept. 27 to drop off our bag, we're told by the front desk that they were not paid by BookIt. The credit card number BookIt provided didn't work. They wanted my credit card and instructed me to deal with you. They said they were unable to find a helpful person at BookIt. I asked them to try again as we set out for a full day of business and family in Manhattan. At around 11 p.m. we arrived back at the hotel. Issue still unresolved. I did not want to give them my card because I feared I would be double charged. I called BookIt's customer service line and was put on hold for 25 minutes. Yes, thoroughly exhausted and sitting in a lobby for almost 30 minutes while my cell phone battery drained to single digits. At that point I used my wife's phone to call BookIt again, and a more helpful representative resolved it with the front desk within 10 minutes. The CS rep said it was a hotel issue. The following morning a front desk manager said it was a BookIt issue. She explained that you've recently gone thru some kind of IT upgrade and guests there have experienced the same problem as we did. At this point I believe her. I make what I believe is a reservation for the 27th that I later see is for the 29th, and pay $80 for the error. If the hotel manager is correct, what is BookIt's restitution for their error? I posted a complaint on another public site and received an apology and request by BookIt's social media team to write them with more details. I did it and did it again. Not response. They act like they care on public sites but that couldn't be further from the truth. Stay away from these guys!
My wife and I recently booked a room in Panama City Florida. Bookit confirmed that the total price was 149.00. Bookit charged my card $149 and did not tell me there was any additional charges whatsoever. Upon arrival I was under the impression that the room was paid for. The next day my bank statement reflected another $155 had been charged by the hotel. When I called the front desk I was notified that the extra $155 was for service fees that I was unaware of. The front desk clerk stated "That's the problem with bookit. They don't tell you that and many people fall victim to their dishonesty". It was my first time using this website and I will NEVER use it again. Sincerely, Benjamin and Michelle Roberts
I haven't taken the trip yet so I'll likely return with more to say, but the booking process worked seamlessly after calling them. There was a online issue with matching the airline with the hotel, but we walked through it on the phone, and the reservations went through at an even lower price than advertised. Both reps ( I called again to upgrade the room-my choice) were knowledgeable, efficient and professional. They each read everything back to me, spelled out every word and made sure all was well before submitting. If I have any advice, its that they should tell people their confirmation info may be in their spam folder, where I found mine in GMail. Otherwise, I'm all set. Seats selected, correct room reserved, etc. After all the complaints I read I called the hotel just in case, but ,my room, the right one, is reserved.
I booked a trip for Hawaii last September, consisting of a flight, hotel and car rental. There was a hiccup when submitting payment but we called them and they fixed it. I had no problems during my trip, and was found in all systems that I was reserved in. I believe there's a reason a lot of people have had issues, and quality control likely needs improvement, but all that I and anyone can speak of is our individual experience, and there was nothing really bad about mine. Also, it's common sense that you call your hotel prior to embarking on the trip to make sure you're in the system. You don't travel thousands of miles and hope that you're covered, even if you are supposed to be. Trust but verify, with ALL agencies. I also noticed that they actually respond to customers' complaints. Good luck reaching some of the other agencies out there; you'd really better hope you don't have to contact some of them.
Finally, I have news for anyone who doesn't understand how pricing works - no booking service can attain the lowest fares on every single transaction. The fact that you're quoted one price by the agency and given a lower fare by the hotel (for example) means basically nothing unless it happens consistently. Prices fluctuate all the time, and I've seen airline tickets rise and drop several hundred dollars in minutes. If you expect to be spoon fed and aren't patient and willing to do a bit of homework, you will get burned eventually, regardless of the middleman.
For supply-side problems, Bookit will have to address them given that the competition is fierce and margins tight in this market. For demand-side problems, well, those will eventually resurface as negative reviews elsewhere.
We have traveled extensively using online reservation sources without incident. Our first and LAST time using Book-it.com we arrived for a week convention at the Venetian in Las Vegas only to be told that BOOK-IT.COM credit card had been declined for our trip and our reservation had been cancelled by The Venetian. We were livid & provided proof that we had paid Book-it.com. It was explained that this was not the first time they had experienced this type of problem with Book-It.com & it would take possibly 2-3days for Book-it to get there end straightened out & there was a chance they would not.
The staff at the Venetian was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. They gave us wonderful rate to allow us to not have to worry through put the conference. They stated in previous situations Book-it.com did end up refunding the guest, but that is the fun I have to look forward to once I am able to get through the automated lines & endless time being put on old. Book-it.com will RUIN YOUR VACATION, HUMILIATE & EMBARASS YOU FOR USING THEIR SERVICES!!!!!!!
In May 2013 I make reserved 2 rooms @ 3 starts hotel near Disneyland (one block) in California. The sale person did wrong date for one room; when we arrived at hotel there was only one room for us. We called Bookit.com, they said will rebook another room for us near Disneyland, but that was one start motel and 20-30 minutes of driving to Disneyland. We refused this motel and asked them to find another closer to Disneyland because we are family and went together with one car. They said they can’t do anything except we take this room of one start motel. So that we asked for money back, they said that there is no cancellation policy. I agreed none refund with rooms I booked @ 3 starts hotel and near Disneyland, not one start motel and far to Disneyland. Also I did not cancel; I just wanted a room I booked. They made an error and didn't want to give money back to us.
I went ahead and purchased a hotel & flight package with Bookit 2 weeks before my flight because there was supposedly only 2 seats left and they were having a sale. 4 days later I received an email about another "sale" they were having and checked the price just to see what it was and it was $200 cheaper! I tried to see if I could get the difference in fare and they said they couldn't do anything to help me. That is ridiculous. If they wanted to show good customer service, they could at least have given me a partial refund in the difference. Not only that, but they "Bookit Perks" that were included in the trip were for FREE WIFI & Breakfast, but WIFI was only in the LOBBY of the hotel, not in the room! Be warned! NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
This was my first, and last, time using this site. The prices looked good and the extra incentive hooked us. We were offered a $100 food voucher if we booked our rooms for two nights. We have three groups going, and booked three separate rooms, for two nights each. There was nothing on the website stating that only one voucher would be given per booking. Had there been such a statement, we would have made three separate bookings.
We called Bookit and were told that there was no way that they could provide the extra two vouchers, even though we were entitled to have them. The only way was to book new rooms, and then refund the original order. By the time we were finished, I had been on the phone for two hours (until 1:30 a.m.).
I checked my Visa online the next day, and realized that I had been charged for an extra room. Once again, I called Bookit. That room was removed, but I also realized that the amount of the refund did not match. I had been shorted by $42. After being bounced around, I was finally put through to Kisha, a girl with an absolutely horrible and snotty attitude, who refused to fix the problem. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that they don't put people through to the manager unless the problem has already been resolved. Huh???? I explained that if she would fix my problem, I wouldn't need to speak with the manager. She told me she couldn't fix my problem, and we went through the same conversation again.
She finally told me that I could speak with someone but she had no idea how long it would be. I told her that I was prepared to wait, in spite of the fact that I was on my way to a funeral visitation. She left me on hold for 45 minutes (I'm sure that she likely went for supper) and then finally came back on the line to ask me about the number of people in each room. Apparently, my name was on two rooms and therefore I had been charged an extra person fee that I should not have been charged (again, their fault). She then told me that she would refund me the $42. No apology was given for their screw-up(s), nor for her rude attitude toward me.
Well, you guessed it! That was a week ago and no refund has been given. Oh, and when the original refunds went through, the difference in the exchange rate (I'm Canadian) cost us an extra $50, for their mistakes.
I have already spent over 3 hours on the phone with this company, and the only results that I have had is for my blood pressure to get raised!! Our group consists of nine people and all of us LOVE to travel. Too bad for Bookit that none of us will ever use their company again, and we are also telling all of our traveling friends to avoid them at all cost.
Wow, if I ran my business the way this company does, I would be out of business.
Do not use. They lied about our package and then never sent us a confirmation email till the last day of our trip. If you want to spend your time on your vacation calling these incompetent people then by all means use them.
Found a suitable resort called Book It the itinuary noted there were layovers and 2 stops to get there she made the extra effort to search a direct/daytime flight for us as this was a huge concern for us...... She looked after every concern and got us a wonderful package deal.. I would use them again..... and would recommend them to others as well THANKS Book IT !!
From the very beginning of the booking there were issues. I went to book online and had a question about the credit card I was using. When I called the toll free number to ask the girl that answered insisted on booking my trip instead of letting me go back to online after she answered my question. She informed me that she would "get credit" for it if I let her book so I did. She didn't book the trip right she only booked half of components (the airfare) and said I would need to call my credit card company because it wouldn't go through. So I got off called my credit card company and they stated absolutely nothing was wrong and that they saw the air flight but did not see where the hotel had even been attempted. So I called back to Bookit and had to sit on the phone for 18 minutes before anybody was available to assist me. After finally getting someone back on the phone he did help and booked the hotel. Now during the trip I find out the airfare was not booked through US AIR it was booked with United which irritated me and that the hotel room I requested as Lakefront was NOT booked that way!!!
I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use Bookit again and I will NEVER recommend you to anyone else.
If you can book through the resort. These people are middle men and don't confirm within 48 hours and are not proactive. The resort should be able to give you just as good a deal. I had to call them to get them to confirm my reservation.
I booked a vacation to Miami and had a lot of trouble trying to get back home to Toronto. Bookit.com sent me my itinerary through email, which I used to Check-in for my flight. Upon my return flight home my friends and I went to the westjet counter where someone told us that our flight is actually operated by American Airlines, we proceeded to the American Airlines counter, which was a bit of a ways away, where someone there looked at my itinerary and told us that our flight is with westjet because at the bottom of the flight information it says "this flight is operated by westjet". After we finally got back to the westjet counter there was no attendant there. There was an airport information desk right infront of the westjet kiosk where I asked if she could page a westjet attendant. The Information clerk then told me that she cannot because there are no more westjet employees at the airport as the last westjet flight was at 2:40pm. My flight on my itinerary showed a 4:30pm departure to Toronto. The information clerk looked at my itinerary and then looked at her computer and told us there is a 4:30pm departure flight to Toronto but only with American Airlines. She showed us that our itinerary was wrong and there was no such flight leaving with westjet. By this time we are extremely irritated lugging around a bunch of suitecases back and forth through the airport with no idea of what flight we are actually on. We've gotten back to the American Airlines counter where the attendant again told us that we should be flying with westjet. I told the attendant what the information clerk told me and he suggested that I call westjet on the number he gave me. I proceeded to call bookit.com to confirm my itinerary, where the CSR told me that their system shows American Airlines, I told her the itinerary I have shows westjet and I read it off to her exactly as it was on my phone. She told me the reservation she has on file for me that was sent from westjet shows operated by American Airlines, she then transferred me to westjet and they told me they do not have a flight In their system for that time with a westjet plane, but the do have one for that time with westjet but operated by American Airlines. Once I told the American Airlines attendant about this, he looked into it and said that we were indeed supposed to be on the American Airlines flight, however, with the time back and forth through the airport and being on the phone we could no longer get on that flight. I was extremely pissed at this point, but the American Airlines attendant tried to rebook us on the 8pm flight, however it was completely full. I then called bookit.com again (using my roaming) where they told me there is nothing they can go about it I would have to rebook through American Airlines! Bookit.com is the one who sent me the wrong itinerary and continue to pass it off as everyone else's problems! Every airline I spoke to genuinely tried to help me, whereas bookit just kept saying its not our fault you need to speak to this company ! At the end of this fiasco I was transferred to American Airlines rebooking dept where a lady helped me book a flight for the next day with westjet which I had to pay for! At this point we were alreading missing a day of work, we were completely exhausted and just wanted to get home! I paid for the flight, I explained the situation to several people, where they all told me the only spot the error occurred was from the email sent from bookit. Because of the extra day I had to spend at the airport, I incurred extra costs on flights, another night of hotel (3 girls 6 suitcases, we are not sleeping in the airport), roaming long distance and not to mention the one day of pay we each lost!
When I called bookit when I finally got home to ask to be reimbursed only for the extra costs incurred during that extra day I spent there if it had not been for one of their incompetent employees, they simply told me it was not their fault and I need to speak to westjet about it. I understand people make mistakes, but take ownership for the mistakes u make and stop trying to blame other people!! Can you honestly tell me how was westjet supposed to help me, when the flight I was originally given was non existent!
What really got me was when I spoke to the last CSR from bookit and she told me to call westjet, I told her westjet will only tell me to call bookit because it is part of a vacation package and bookit is the one who booked my flight, the CSR told me "we'll if you call us back, in only going to tell you to call westjet again"
Are you kidding me!?! This was THE WORST customer service I've ever had to deal with ! Bookit.com you need to take ownis of your mistakes! I know several people who are planning vacations and I was sure to tell them NOT to use bookit! I will never use bookit again!
I will be calling bookit again soon to speak to a manager about my situation and the reimbursement for that extra day, and if they continue to refuse to help me, I will be forced to file a lawsuit and believe me, I will be asking for more than just reimbursement for that day! ESP with the stress and frustration thus entire situation had caused me!
After 6 hours of phone time with company and $500 after I paid everything in full the fun never stops with this company. Its hide and go seek for fees! Good luck everyone who uses this program; I will NEVER EVER COME BACK!
Their low rates are available to them by all the hidden fees not covered in the packages.
Booked a hotel room at 6pm for the next day. A few hours later, I wanted to cancel my reservation. Their site let me cancel, but charged me the FULL amount, plus a fee. Why would I cancel and pay MORE than the rate itself (including the fee).
I called them to keep my room, and they kept me on the phone for a half hour, then told me to call back tomorrow. the next day I called back, finally got the room fixed, and still was assessed the cancellation fee (even though I decided to keep the room).
I travel several times a month, and would never use these guys again.
I have booked a Mexico vacation package. With European sites, it was virtually impossible to book 2 rooms for the 4 of us. They just do not offer it.
With Book it, we could do it very easily without having an major impact on the price. It was fast and convenient and we got everything what we were looking for.
We have also booked transit to the hotel. That was very expensive (I could use a taxi for half of the price). And we needed to wait at arrival, and was almost 40 mins late at pick up from the Hotel.
I cannot really complain about anything. Their Agents (BD Travel) in Riviera Maya were nice and very friendly to give VALUABLE advice, as well as good deals for local attractions (in packages). On Book It site it was the same, not cheaper (they suggest you to book it upfront).
The package overall was more expensive than the ones offered in Europe (with charter flights though...). But it was the most flexible offer we could get (in # of days to stay, flight schedules, # of rooms). Some price improvement would make it even better!
We were pretty much satisfied with Book it! I have just looked at the reviews, and I was astonished to see how many negative reviews are existing on them. Again, apart from their prices, all went well!
Bookit has great deals, but sometimes what they advertise isn't always what it seems to be so you really have to read the fine print. I did book a vacation to Mexico through them and had no issues and was very pleased. I was a little worried something would go wrong, but nothing did. I would recommend bookit, but just tell people to be careful and read the fine print on their great deals.
My spouse and I were scheduled to depart for Las Vegas on August 2nd, unfortunately our daughter ended up in the Emergency department on July 31st with acute appendicitis. She was subsequently scheduled for surgery on August 1st at 1000. I called Southwest Airlines to cancel our flight and without any issues at all we were given dollar for dollar credit for another flight as long as it occurs within the next year. Bookit on the other hand would not allow me to cancel online due to the 24 hour window even though we were more than 30 hours from our originally scheduled check in time. I called the service number listed on the web for which I was on hold for over 45 minutes before I was able to speak to anyone. I was immediately told that I would receive a refund for only 1 day of the hotel booking due to the late notice regardless of the situation surrounding the cancellation. The refund due to us was to be $200 of the $598 dollars we had spent to stay at Vdara. The gentlemen on the phone was very cold and lacked any sympathy for our situational cancellation. I asked if there was anything further he could do or if I could speak to a supervisor, I was promptly told that this was Bookit's policy and that no further consideration would be given to the matter. I was told that we would receive the $200 within 10 business days. 15 business days later and still no refund. My advice is to steer clear of this online travel company and use someone with proven reliability. Trying to save a few dollars on our trip ultimately cost us hundreds. We will never use this company again. The only reason I give this site 1 star is because I am not allowed to assign zero stars.
I could not change my reservation online and had to speak to a representative. Speaking to a rep costs $25.00!! So I cancelled my reservation online and that cost me $19.xx!! It appears speaking to a representative will cost us $25.00 for any modifications and/or cancellation!
I should have trusted my gut and gone with a more trusted online service like hotels.com or expedia to book my hotel room. They've always been upfront with their hotel rates and don't charge ridiculous fees for using their service, making changes, checking out a day early, etc. The first red flag was when I went to reserve a hotel (that looked cheaper on an online comparison chart) and the "bookit" button came up BEFORE showing me a breakdown of charges. The second red flag was when I called a rep to get that breakdown before I hit the button and she told me about the different resort fees, taxes, etc, I then asked about another property I was interested in and learned that, even though it was now listed as cheaper than the hotel, it came up to be $10 more because their fees were higher (but was a two-bedroom condo that I had stayed at before and not a standard hotel room). I feel that these rates should be included in their published rates so a fair comparison can be made. What looks like a bargain really isn't one. The rep Vanessa, who was very pleasant on the phone, told me that she would send a link for the second property in case I decided to change my mind when I went to book the property myself online. After discussing with my son, I decided to go for the condo because it was a familiar place. However, when I clicked on the link, it went to the page where I input my credit card info and didn't list the name of the hotel on this page. I proceeded to input my info, thinking I was booking the condo. Instead, she had sent me the link back to the hotel and that's what was booked. I called back immediately, asked for Vanessa, but was told that she couldn't help me make the change and would have to go through another department. After being on hold for an hour (and it was already late at night), I got frustrated and gave up. I didn't have the patience to deal with the problem late at night and decided to take my chances with the hotel. The hotel was a problem in itself. It should be rated two stars, not three. We had to switch rooms after a palmetto bug went crawling across the floor an hour after checking in. The other problem that occurred happened when I inquired about checking out a day early. The hotel desk informed me that there wouldn't be a fee, but when she saw that I made my reservations through bookit, she told me to call them first. After being on hold for another 30 minutes, the rep told me there would be a $25 fee to do so. Seriously? I can't afford to give money away, so we decided to stay the extra night. I also found out from other hotel patrons that they were staying at a cheaper rate per night than I booked. I kind of feel scammed. This is one of those times when reading reviews and the fine print is important. I definitely won't use this site again and will not recommend to others.
From the beginning this trip was horrible. Long hours traveling and even worst, the bus ride to the hotel. Once at the hotel you are imprisoned by locals who will take your money using guilt. We only left the hotel once and we were broke. This all inclusive resort is old run down and in need of a facelift. The power went out and the generators which they use to run everything were right under our window so we missed out on 2 nights of sleep. The beach is small, there is no area to snorkel, and the pools are filthy. You will be unable to make phone calls or use the internet without paying a lot of money. The staff are not helpful and actually quite rude when you needed any kind of assistance. The food was mediocre at best. Seemed like most visitors were only interested in one thing, purchasing marijuana and smoking it in the hotel, the halls reeked. Do not bother with Jamaica and Ocho Rios go to the Bahamas. We were truly disappointed in the $2500 for an "all inclusive" resort vacation.
