I had great hopes for a long relationship with Callaghan Publications over many books. I couldn’t be more disappointed, frustrated, and disgusted. They took my money and did nothing well—from the editing (AI that I had to then correct even the simplest mistakes that could have been avoided had an actual human book editor gone through it) and cover design (terrible, which I have since paid a cover designer to replace) to formatting (I had to keep calling out their formatting errors) and publication (three initial deadlines missed over several months until I forced the publication date) and made errors in the upload to online retailers (the wrong book is pulled into Amazon in one format, which negatively affects royalties) to marketing execution (great plan, no follow-through, on top of missing the pre-order marketing that had been promised and touted as best practice, in addition to neither consistency nor comprehensive approach that had been promised). I thought the website was the one good thing—even though I ended up writing all the copy myself just to get it moving—until it began pulling in other content in another languages (claimed to be a glitch they “fixed” over and over, only to happen again), would go down for weeks at a time, and no one monitored messages that came to the site, then they refused to transfer my URL without an exorbitant fee for something that was supposedly part of the package to be transferred and train me to maintain. A specific project manager was assigned before I agreed to use their services and once I did agree that person was changed for someone who was more interested in trying to upsell me other products that doing the work for which he was contracted. I was told several times at the beginning there was a money-back guarantee if they didn’t sell the agreed to number of books during a specified timeframe and now will not contact me when they did not. Cannot warn anyone away fast enough or far enough from this company. Complete fail to meet objectives, along with amateur effort. Their website says they are in New York, but it became apparent that's a lie when several of the people they cycled me through slipped and gave me different geographies. Huge waste of money and time.

I paid an enormous amount money to Callahan to publish a book for me. They've had it for over a full year and still - not published. It is ME who has been editing their spelling errors, pointing out that they somehow dropper some paragraphs from the pages, etc, etc. They insisted on unnecessary "digitalizing" my drawings which other publishers of my books have not needed to do and are unresponsive.

Working with Calahan has been an exercise in frustration. I have been tossed from one person to another. They have provided nothing that was promised. I would not recommend Calahan unless you enjoy being given the run around and frudstration.

I paid $2297 for editing and publication on 2 June 2025. I was unhappy with the editing and canceled the process. Callaghan Publication determined that I was owed $1500 as a refund. They agreed to pay, sending me a message in November 2025, but they never paid.

Also, I paid previously for marketing. I had a guarantee of a refund for poor performance. I paid thousands of dollars and they sold 40 books. I complained but also never received a refund.

Callaghan Publications is a SCAM!

They will pester you continuously to spend more and more money on services that will NOT render. I have given them nearly $5,000 for services that I have not received. When questioned for proof of services rendered, they could not provide proof. I was given numerous excuses. I have all email correspondance as proof of this. Finally, I requested a refund When my request was ignored, I disputed the charges with my bank.

Callaghan Publications gave my bank false information claiming they did in fact provide services. To which I provided proof they did not. In response to my dispute, Callaghan Publications told me, "At the time the dispute was raised, you had the option to request a refund in accordance with the contract. Instead, initiating a dispute constituted a direct breach of the agreed terms. Have you reached out regarding any dissatisfaction, the matter could have been resolved professionally, including a potential refund review."

No contract ever states I cannot issue a dispute for services not rendered? However, to their point, I immediately provided my proof that I did, in fact, request a refund prior to initiating the disputed charges. Radio silence since.

Regardless, Do NOT give them your time or money.

They were available all the time throughout the process and helped me till my book was complete.

CALCAN PUBLICATIONS IS A SCAMMER

I got scammed by the the Callaghan Publications out of 1,270 US dollars.
I complained to my bank today 04/06/2026 and I will file the complaints to the Better Business Bureau, the FBI, Writer Beware, and Attorney General of New York (actually they use fake address which  belongs to a headquarter of the Amazon in the City of New York).
I am happy to show you all the proofs if you are interested in.
I just want to alert the other potential victims.

This is a scam company. I recently tried to contact them but they didn't respond. Please do not use this company. They seem to be individuals outside the United States and are illegally using an Amazon Head Quarter address in New York.

I've published 3 books with Callaghan Publishers and now I'm working on a 4th. Excellent quality. The 1st 2 books were done in about 1 month. The 3rd took a bit longer but overall very happy with the results. They were competitive in pricing too which was a plus for me.

We paid a lot of money up front, and here we are 5 months later and still no book. They are slow to respond (if they reply at all), despite their claims that the process only takes a few days. The rep was an idiot. The rep in India wanted access to my Amazon account, after I entered my social security number, DOB and credit card info ... sorry pal, that ain't happening. My picture book had many photos cropped beyond usefullness, and the sizes were all wrong. I would urge everyone to avoid this company.

**Review Title: Extremely Frustrating Experience with Callahan's Publishing**

I am disappointed to share my ongoing experience with Callahan's Publishing. Initially, I submitted a comprehensive layout along with 154 stories, anticipating a professional collaboration. After discussions, we settled on publishing 30 stories per volume, with completion dates promised for February and April 2025. However, it is now July 25th, and my book remains unfinished.

Two months ago, I received an email claiming the book was complete. To my shock, it was only 54 pages long, with one story repeated multiple times. The stunning images are overshadowed by the inadequate content, which should have been around 400 pages.

In hopes of moving forward, I personally selected and organized 30 stories to facilitate the process, yet there has been no progress on their end. The lack of communication, professionalism, and attention to detail has left me incredibly frustrated.

I had high hopes for this project, but the experience has been rife with delays and disappointments. I cannot recommend Callahan's Publishing until they address these serious issues.

This looks like a business that used to be decent but due to the horrible economic collapse almost everywhere these days, it went out of business, I'd stay away from it

I had a very disappointing experience with this publishing and marketing service. Communication was poor, and there were constant delays with minimal updates. Despite their promises, the marketing efforts were ineffective, with little to no impact on my book's visibility or sales. I expected a more professional approach but felt unsupported throughout the process. I don't fully remember all the details, but based on my experience, I believe this is the company that provided such subpar service. I wouldn’t recommend their services for anyone seeking serious results in publishing and promotion.

Callaghan Was a Disappointment

When I first picked Callaghan Publication, it was through them saying they were tied to amazon however after cross-referencing this never be the case. It felt, to put it mildly, disingenuous.

Worse still, they did not strike me as particularly knowledgeable or savvy about publishing. The process took over five extortionate months and my book has not been published yet. The communication was bad and it really showed that they did not know how to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Not recommend, I regret to deal with them in my project.

This book was the cutest book EVER! My husband was so surprised, he absolutely loved it. Our children thought it was so sweet. Now my neighbor wants me to help her create a book for her husband. I was showing my book off to all my friends and Colleagues. I plan to place it on our mantle so everyone that comes into our home can see it lol. Thanks guys for the great work!!

I had put my manuscript away for a year after experiencing bad service with 2 other publisher's. I've decided to give it one more shot. I prayed and prayed while searching for another publisher and came across so many. God led me to Callaghan Publications and then I met the man that change my whole perception. I was so nervous at first but he took all that away. Trevor Moore is a blessing in my life and I will never forget what he's done for me. Trevor went to extra degree for me. He listened very carefully to my details, he provided exceptional service and he made my experience a wonderful one. He's top notch, professional, knowledgeable, and funny. He made me laugh, he touched my heart, and God used him to accomplish one of my biggest testimonial in life, my book. I am truly grateful and will truly be using your services again.
