Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 380 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently highlight frustrating customer service, extremely long call delays, and completely unresolved order issues that leave people waiting for months without proper assistance or communication. Many shoppers also note recurring problems with poor product quality, frequently missing items in deliveries, and unnecessarily high pricing across various daily goods. A co-operative (co-op) is a different kind of business. Our Co-op is owned by individual members and other co-ops, not big investors, and our members get a chance to have a say in how we’re run. Profits mean members receive money, rewards and offers and a co-op can support its local community.

Today

Today, once again, I noticed that the prices at Clipstone Co-op do not always match the prices charged at the till. The prices displayed in the shop were lower, but I was charged more on my receipt.

When I pointed this out to the staff member, I was not offered a refund for the difference, and the price was not corrected either. Everything was simply left as it was.

Unfortunately, I really don’t like the attitude towards customers in this shop. It often feels like you are made to feel unwelcome rather than valued as a customer. I try to avoid shopping here whenever I can.

I hope this can be looked into. Have a good day.

Jobs worth making me not want to go coop

I am honestly so sick of going into my local coop early in the morning and being I’d by the same guy I’ve seen other 30 times for an energy drink. Today my kids were screaming in the car, late for school (I know I’m terrible) but had to get them some water, I wanted an energy drink because again it’s early and my ASD kids don’t sleep at all and this bloomin guy who yes is just doing his job demands my id for a monster energy can. I wouldn’t mind if it was a one off but at this point it feels malicious it’s my local shop (5mins away from home) and he’s seen me so many times, I’ve gone home on other days and got my expired passport ( not legal I’d anymore) because it’s for wine or pain killers but today was an absolute joke. He accepts a form of id he shouldn’t as it’s well over ten years old but won’t serve me an energy drink? I understand I look young but I am 29 next month and after the 20th time it’s just common sense to remember someone you see so regularly. He’s not even polite about it either I each time think he’s joking and he’s so rude about it. I get other staff who know me well (one manager used to baby sit me) and he’s arsy with them for saying yeah no she’s fine she comes here all the time we know her age. When I find my lost new driving licence it will stay in my car for such occasions but for now, it’s ridiculous like he makes me not want to go to coop anymore due to his terrible customer service. I’d understand if we were in a city but we’re in a tiny town called Rhayader in Powys. He knows me it’s malicious, unnecessary and pathetic at this point. 0/10. The fact I am upset enough to leave a bad review about this says it all.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. I have been making a simple enquiry to customer services for 9 months and still no response to my query. I have emailed and used the website form but only meet with stalling tactics evasiveness and redirecting me somewhere else - who then redirect me back to the coop. I can only wonder if they are covering something up that they do not want customers to know.

Kind, helpful, knowledgeable staff

I shopped at the West Bridgford Co-op one Saturday and used the wrong reward card. I have an employee discount card as my son works there. It was a big monthly shop and made a big difference. The assistant at the till said he would get the manager and she sorted it out and got me the right reduction. It took quite a while, but the manager was kind and patient.

Apalling company …

This appalling company deserve zero but can't give that gave the benefit of the doubt after deliveries not being delivered and some orders not even refunded. The whole experience again today with a Wrexham delivery is the final straw hours waiting with not even a text to say its on its way and as per usual never arrived.I have had alcohol stolen from one order by the courier as the bag was unsealed on delivery,Co-op failed to refund, fresh produce rotten and food that's met its sell by date the next day,no matter what you do its rare you are refunded, they gave me 10.00 as a way of an apology on my co-op card, guess what i still paid full price at the till no 10.00 discount. They should be investigated for the way they are trading its unfair on customers, absolutely dreadful.Look how any feedback is not important to them.

Ordered online Thursday 3rd September…

Ordered online Thursday 3rd September 2026 . Although order came up delivered it certainly was not delivered to my address . I attempted to call back on number which did not work . To say you are not at my house I’m on doorstep and have camera . I filled in online form straight away to get generic email to say they will telephone or email once query looked into . Today is the 6th still no response no apology and no refund .
It absolutely ruined my day I had planned a meal for family . I won’t be using this service again . But will pursue my money absolutely disgraceful . (Telford)

Visited the Caistor store

Visited the Caistor store. Asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes. The bag was thrown at me!!! The woman scanned the contents of the basket, then asked me if that was it? I replied, yes. Do you have a co op card, no said. The woman told me the price and that was it. No interpersonal skills, no smile, no care.
Not using that store again

Terrible Quality Control

Numerous issues lately at the Chorlton store.

Out of date stock, including chicken sandwiches still on the shelves for sale.

Packaging on sandwiches isn't airtight, I think this may be because of the cardboard not being sealed properly.

Bought 'soft' double chocolate cookies, only to find them burnt and rock hard when I opened them.

I've started shopping at M&S instead. Shame as the staff seem nice. But the quality control at the Co-op is terrible now, and I'm throwing away too many items.

DREADFUL EXPERIENCE…

I spent 38 minutes speaking to a Co-op staff member at the Main office, regarding my membership card & lack of vouchers or 'shares of the profits'. It was an horrendous call leaving me feeling mentally exhausted! I'm none the wiser but took the advice ti contact a different depth. That proved negative too. I HATE THE CO-OP! Back in the day it was a great shop/business, now it's absolutely dreadful!!!

Order not delivered

I did an online order with co op for the first time on 31/8/26. They said they were running late but would still deliver, they then claimed to not to able to track the order. The order was not delivered. After reading other reviews ,its clear this happens more than it should. I will not be using co op online again. I am now waiting for a refund.

CO-OP EMPLOYEE SCREAMS AT 11 YR OLD

Co-op employee screams at my best friend. I did not enjoy the food and my best friend who wouldn’t hurt a fly got sent out the shop for no apparent reason. Don’t come here as they don’t like anyone. Only come here if you have no other option. I found that out the hard way.

CO-OP ON LINE ORDER DISASTER

Went online and placed an order to be delivered to a holiday address. Order was accepted and payment taken. With no conformation arriving for a few days the co-op was phoned, who stated the order had not been accepted. They were unable to give a reason for this, so I will not be able to do the same in future. They should have contacted me with a reason for the failure so I could correct the problem.
