I worked on project origami batch 3&4 & worked 102 hours with average time 2:48 minutes. Total payment was $418. But they are paying only for 42 hour with $172 only .this is totally unfair. Crowdgen is Scam .be aware of that.
Scam
Scam. They will not find you a job, just take your money. Then it will turn out they have made you agree to get money every month. When you try getzibg a refund, they will only wire you half the money "as a gesture of good will". Ftaudulent activity feeding on the vulnerability of people searching for income.

That doesn't have nothing to do with working for them 😕. Then take you email and give it to someone else. For there own profits. When you sign up. You just another profile they can use... Don't do it.. to hard to recover you online presence.
AND PERSONAL STUFF.... THEY SHOULDN'T OF ACCESS.
I have to give 1 star to write that…
I have to give 1 star to write that review here because that website does not even deserve 1 star from me. I have make an account and signed in, waited 1 month, i literally signed up daily to see the projects but zero projects. It wasted my time and made me wait without any results. So my recommendation is for someone who is thinking to earn from home and recently thinking to make an account on crowdgen, don't, waste your time bro/sis. You will never get a project just wait wait wait. And one more thing, in daily basis they ask for otp and for that they said to download an authentication app, so it's also time consuming and effort putting to sign in to that website. You will get nothing in return.
I have completely lost trust in…
I have completely lost trust in CrowdGen (Appen) after repeatedly applying for projects and completing their qualification assessments, only to be rejected or not selected without any meaningful explanation.
This has happened approximately five times. Some of the assessments were surprisingly simple, yet the outcome was always the same. It makes me seriously question how their recruitment and qualification processes actually work.
What concerns me even more is the amount and nature of personal data that platforms like CrowdGen may collect during registration and assessment, including potentially sensitive voice, video, and identity-related information.
I cannot help but wonder whether applicants' data or assessment submissions are being used without sufficient transparency, even when those applicants are never selected for paid work. I am not claiming to have proof of such misuse, but the lack of clear explanations and repeated unsuccessful applications have seriously undermined my confidence in the company.
My main concerns are:
Repeated rejections without meaningful feedback.
A lack of transparency regarding selection criteria.
Uncertainty about how applicants' personal data and assessment submissions are stored, processed, and used.
The time and effort applicants invest without any guarantee of receiving paid opportunities.
After approximately five unsuccessful attempts, I no longer feel comfortable trusting this platform with my time or personal information.
My advice to potential applicants: Be cautious, read the privacy policies carefully, and think twice before submitting sensitive personal information or completing lengthy assessments.
CrowdGen needs to demonstrate greater transparency, accountability, and respect for applicants' time and privacy.
Until then, I cannot recommend this platform.
Extremely disorganized
Everything is a huge mess. Painfully disorganized, not just the projects but also the entire experience with the site. It's full of bugs and delay. Also, they will send you emails about projects you aren't even inside and won't clearly explain the tasks in the projects you are, unless you choose to delete your account. Honestly, the worst experience I had and I don't recommend this to anyone. You will just waste your time.
Time-consuming onboarding
Time-consuming onboarding, but no work
I completed the application and onboarding process, received an invitation to join SRT Workplace, and subsequently received payment reminders. However, no paid work was actually made available.
The company invested very little; I invested my time completing its process for an apparent opportunity that produced nothing. Applicants should not assume that onboarding or Workplace access means that any paid work exists.
Based on my experience, I would not spend significant time on this platform unless a specific paid project has already been confirmed.
In my opinion they waste your time, and consider your time free, of cost.!!! to them.
Crowdgen is not a trustworthy freelance…
Crowdgen is not a trustworthy freelance platform. Here’s why:
Unreliable projects: Even after receiving emails confirming qualification, there’s no guarantee you’re actually accepted.
Complicated logins: Applying requires multiple logins through another Chinese platform interface, making the process frustrating and unclear.
Payment issues: For example, in the Origami project, many participants reported not being compensated despite completing tasks.
Useless support: Their support team provides no real assistance when problems arise.
🚫 Bottom line: Crowdgen operates like a scam. It wastes freelancers’ time, creates false expectations, and fails to pay fairly. Not recommended.
I’ve had a very disappointing…
I’ve had a very disappointing experience with crowdgen so far. I still haven’t been able to start working because of a bug with the identity verification process. I’ve tried to resolve the issue, but I’m still unable to complete the verification and access the work.
It’s frustrating to go through the registration process and be ready to work, only to be blocked by a technical issue that isn’t being resolved. I hope crowdgen can fix this problem and provide better support for users experiencing verification issues.
Appen Online – Ongoing ID Verification Failure and Complete Lack of Support
Appen Online – Ongoing ID Verification Failure and Complete Lack of Support
I registered on the Appen platform for remote work, and from the very beginning the experience has been extremely frustrating.Appen took several weeks just to review my ID during the initial account setup. After that, every time I receive a project invitation, the system does not allow me to complete the ID verification required to join the task. The verification page opens, but it immediately displays a message saying that the verification is already completed — which is not true. A few minutes later, the status changes back to “pending ID verification”, and the same loop repeats over and over until I lose the project deadline and cannot join any tasks.I have tried different browsers, and all my devices are modern and fully compatible. I even tested on multiple devices, and the issue persists. This problem has been happening for 6–7 months, nonstop.I have submitted many tickets through their help desk (the only contact method they offer), but Appen either does not respond or simply closes the case after weeks without providing any solution. After half a year of trying, I still cannot access any project because the ID verification system is broken, and Appen refuses to fix it or provide proper support. This is unacceptable for a company that relies on remote workers and requires ID verification for every project. The lack of communication, transparency, and technical support is extremely unprofessional.I am requesting that Appen finally address this issue, fix the ID verification system, and provide real support instead of ignoring users and closing tickets without resolution.
Promised payment not received.
If you are considering working with CrowdGen, I recommend keeping detailed records of every payment commitment they make.
I completed three sessions and was specifically told that I would receive an additional $80 per unit because the sessions were exceptionally busy. I was told to wait until September 15, when the payment would be processed and the amount could be reviewed.
I received $313, but the promised additional $240 was not included.
I contacted support and opened a ticket, but I am still waiting for the promised payment to be resolved.
My experience so far is that payment commitments need to be carefully monitored, and I would advise anyone considering working with CrowdGen to make sure every promised payment is documented in writing.
instantly deactivated my account after creation
instantly deactivated my account after creation with no explanation. I found out because I sent in a support ticket to reset my login or figure out why I couldn't log into the system for the first time. I got an automated response that there were no projects in my location and my account was being deactivated. LOL. This company is ridiculously terrible.
Unfair pay reduction and misleading hourly rates on CrowdGen (Project Origami)
CrowdGen recruited contributors for Project Origami (Tier 1 Image Captioning) explicitly promising an hourly rate of $4.10/hour. After spending over 62 dedicated hours working through severe platform glitches, freezing screens, and heavy server latency on Maven, the payment credited was drastically cut down.
My official Maven dashboard clearly logs 62 hours 4 minutes under "Payable Time" across 413 submitted units. Despite this, CrowdGen credited only 4.85 hours (around $19.88 instead of $254+). The company is retroactively attempting to treat the work as micro-tasks ($0.01/task) or shifting blame onto internal tool lag that was entirely out of contributor control.
Penalizing freelancers for platform-side technical failures and ignoring advertised hourly commitments is completely unfair. I urge management to honor the agreed terms and audit contributor logs properly.
Totally irresponsible
I qualified for a project but got a message saying my Identity verification has failed for no reason instead of resolving what happened they closed my account really disappointed and frustrated.
ID verification stuck for nearly a month
I submitted my government ID for verification on CrowdGen (owned by Appen) on August 12. Since then I have opened multiple support tickets, including ticket #01117075, and every single response has been an automated, repetitive template.
At one point I was told my case was "escalated to the Trust & Safety specialist team for a personal review" and that no further action was needed from me. Right after that, I received another generic message saying my verification was simply in a review queue due to high volume, contradicting the previous message. Then the ticket was closed with no verification completed and no explanation, along with a note discouraging me from opening a new ticket.
No representative has ever confirmed whether my documents were received correctly or explained what is actually causing the delay. It has now been nearly a month with zero real communication, just copy-paste replies.
Based on other reviews here, this seems to be a widespread pattern with CrowdGen's ID verification process, not an isolated issue.
A Highly Professional, Transparent, and Legit Remote Work Platform
As a freelancer with experience across various digital platforms, I feel compelled to share my highly positive experience with CrowdGen. It is a premier, fully legitimate platform for online work, free from the skepticism often associated with remote opportunities.
From the very beginning, the onboarding process is exceptionally smooth and structured. Unlike other platforms that leave you figuring things out on your own, CrowdGen provides comprehensive, easy-to-understand guidelines for every project. The instructions are crystal clear, ensuring that you know exactly what is expected before you even begin working.
The tools and dashboard we provide are modern, intuitive, and highly efficient, making day-to-day tasks easy. Furthermore, the compensation rates are highly competitive and fair. Most importantly, their payment system is remarkably reliable, with transactions processed accurately and strictly on time.
What truly crowns the experience is their exceptional customer support. The support team handles every ticket with utmost professionalism and provides timely feedback, regardless of whether the issue stems from a technical glitch or a repetitive user mistake. Working here brings absolute peace of mind, knowing you are part of a trustworthy ecosystem. I highly recommend CrowdGen to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and rewarding freelance career.
WASTE OF TIME
WASTE OF TIME. Too many redflags to elaborate. There are almost no projects, plus the job application takes weeks just for you to get rejected/ghosted (not to mention the lengthy technical test required). Finally, for the cherry on top, they automatically terminated my account.
