I purchased a tablet from Curry's and chose express delivery for £5.99, about 10 minutes into the delivery window I received a text message telling me that my parcel had been left with a 'A.James' from number 5 next door, I was at home the whole time waiting for the delivery, heard no knocks, received no notification of any attempt at delivery through the letter box and I did not give my consent for DPD to leave this parcel with anybody else. So I went next door and the neighbors had received no parcel and they are trustworthy as we often accept their parcels and vice versa. Upon complaining to Curry's they looked into it and DPD have asserted that they had done as they said, still awaiting any further news.
An absolutely hopeless service. The second time this week they have mucked up our order. Stating first they left a calling card and rang our contact numbers (which they never did) and the second time having the brass to say we actually refused the delivery. Up to this point the most contact with DPD has been a patronizing automated voice over the phone.
After hours of navigating their autoresponse system, and finally getting a human on the line, we were assured we could get a re-delivery for the same day. Once again, hours wasted waiting for a driver who was to never show and our package is still missing. NEVER AGAIN.
I bought a new set of trainers online and set the delivery as my work address as it is convenient and has a dedicated team accepting parcels. Got a text today saying there was no one there to accept the parcel! I couldn't find any useful customer service number that was not an automated dead end. I then completed the online customer service form but never recieved a response.
Finally checking online it looks like most of the address I entered originally is missing and trying to change this wouldn't allow me to select anything other than another partially incomplete address! No doubt delivery will be 'attempted' again tomorrow and I will get another text telling me there is no one there to sign...
So far I am unimpressed and very frustrated!
They have been at my adress four times but still not able to deliver. Have spoken to their call center where they will "forward it to the right people". have not heard more from PDP and my parcel is still somewhere...
DPD sent me a txt quoting my parcel number, the parcel contained my dog's food from Pet Supermarket, they said it would be delivered the following day, it didnt arrive, so I tried to track it, the tracking system said it had no trace of the parcel. I then called customer services at Pet Supermarket who told me DPD had a system crash, to be honest I think Pet Supermarket should use another company, it seems this one isnt good enough.
They did deliver goods to me before no problem, but then my order, and that of a few other people I know have not arrived on time, and waiting in for something that doesnt arrive is very annoying, I spent the day here when I could have been doing other things.
I recieved another TXT this A.M and my parcel arrived as promised, at the time they said.
I would also like to thank DPD for their reply, and My dog will not go hungry this week. I was told that they had, had a problem, and to be fair to DPD it was out of their control, so I am sorry for getting so annoyed, but good service is essential to good reviews. However I have my goods now, so all is well again.

I paid for next day delivery - nothing arrived. Then I got an email saying they had been unable to deliver and that they had posted a note. There was nothing in my door. I phoned the the customer services and they confirmed the driver had tried to deliver to number 8 not 12.... Said it would be delivered the next day instead. Waited all morning then phoned again - 'Sorry it's still in the depot - can we deliver Monday?' Well no, you can't, I'm in Barcelona and it's my anniversary on Monday. That parcel contains the anniversary girft...... Thanks for nothing DPD.
Nice old fashioned caring service turned up as per emailed expected delivery time
Cant fault there service.

No parcel or time slot has been received as of yet, not update as too where my order is (Even though it was next day delivery and should be here by now..) No one answering the phone at the call centre or emails, can't get through to ANYONE is this some sort of joke? The customer support are telling me my consignment number doesn't exist. Got an order saying it will be delivery today and as of yet no update since 10am saying it was in Newbury and 'shipment details received, consignment shipped email response notification sent.
I ordered some clothing which was supposed to arrive within 3 days and here we are 3 weeks later still nothing. Had texts to confirm 1 hour delivery window and still nothing arrives. Apparently some problem locating our house ( which is odd since dpd delivered here before) so provided extra instructions and contact numbers by email and still nothing arrives. Several days wasted waiting in for deliveries - getting very frustrated and close to just cancelling the order ( despite the clothing company's best efforts and helpful customer service). It is just not worth the hassle! Next time I'll just go to a shop!
Having ordered a present online a week prior to delivery date, the company told me it would be delivered by DPD. I was emailed on the morning of my parcel arriving saying it would arrive between 12:53 and 1:53 (or near those times). I knew I wouldn't be in so chose the option to have it delivered to a neighbor. I then received a confirmation email to say this request has been processed and confirmed.
I came home to a note saying ''sorry we missed you''. Not only was I fuming that they had not done as I requested but then the events that followed. I rang the 'Change delivery details' number and requested for next day delivery but made sure they were aware that I wanted it sent to either of my neighbors.
I rang my local DPD depot after getting the number of my father whose business used to use them as the company delivery service and had acquired the number through numerous bad experiences with them. I rang the depot to get through to an extremely unhelpful, rude member of staff who interrupted me half way though my sentence and just said ''what is your delivery number'' after giving it to her she gave me the details I already knew, which she would of known, had she let me finish my sentence. I then told her that my neighbor had in fact been in all day so it wasn't possible for the driver to not have delivered it to which i got a hostile response of ''i'm not the driver'' and then had the phone put down on me. I was astounded that DPD staff feel they can treat customers like this, it was totally unacceptable.
I had no choice but to have my parcel delivered by DPD and thought it would be fine, I have sent an email to the company of which I purchased the goods from recommending them to move to a different delivery service as DPD is appalling. Judging by the reviews on your website, I am not the only one.
DPD - you really ought to sort your customer service out as it is just unacceptable to be treated the way I have. I cannot believe you think you can get away with it!
I will be taking this matter further as I think it is completely out of order.
i ordered an iphone 5 from vodaphone which was supposed to come today 12/6/13. someone in all day. no parcel. so tracked parcel and that said no one in to sign for. even though no card was put through the door and no one knocked on the door either. ?????
DPD appear to have a great online tracking system. They inform you when they'll deliver, they even send you an e-mail on the day providing you with a convenient one hour window when they will be at your address. But I've just been through the whole rigmarole for the second day in a row and today actually stood at the door for the full hour to be sure that I didn't miss them. Nobody came. And then again I got an email saying they had been unable to deliver so had left a calling card. No calling card on either day! I can only assume the driver is going to the wrong address (they definitely have the correct address and postcode).
I'm having a number of items delivered this week and all other couriers have been delivering without issue...so you get the wooden spoon for poorest courier DPD. You are the weakest link - goodbye!
My precious mobile suffered some damage last weekend so it went to be fixed (Repairs4.com). Needing it back quickly to run my business, I paid to have it back within 24 hours. Repairs4.com use DPD UK and to be frank, I'd never heard of them before! However, I had no need to be concerned as the service they provided was fantastic! Regular emails to keep me updated about where my parcel was and the window of time that it would be delivered. It arrived on time and in great condition. Thank you DPD! I will be recommending your services to others without a doubt! (Dee Becker - Style Coach)
For the third time now I have had the experience of waiting in for a delivery from DPD UK at a specified time only to receive an email claiming that nobody was home to sign for the parcel. And surprise surprise, there's never a card to prove that they've actually been.
'Customer service' seems to amount to a recorded message telling me to take it up with the person I'm buying from. I now have the choice of rearranging delivery - of course if I don't want to take more time off work then I am welcome to pay EXTRA for a Saturday delivery - or I can travel miles to an inconveniently located depot.
Previously DPD have also managed to lose a DVD box set ordered for a xmas present claiming it had been signed for and delivered when it simply hadn't.
So in short - if a company is using DPD UK then I will be taking my business elsewhere.
24 hour delivery arrives more 72 later.
Mix up on address change so it took DPD 2 days to sort this out when a 24hour delivery was paid for.
Customer services is a joke, told me to drive to Oldbury (80) round trip to collect the parcel instead of waiting.
My company that sends out many parcels every week and has in the past used DPD will NEVER again use this company.
Over the last few weeks I have had 6 next-day deliveries made by DPD. Every delivery was made well within the 1 hour time slot they gave to me on the day of delivery which has saved me a lot of sitting round looking out for a courier and is a great feature of their service.
The communications have been excellent, with an email and a text received as soon as the package was booked into their system; their tracking system is informative. On the morning of delivery an email and text was received telling me the expected time slot for the delivery, who the driver would be, instructions on how to change anything about the delivery should the need arise and a link to their tracking service.
The delivery man (same one each time) was helpful and polite and should be commended as no doubt his personal attitude and diligence goes a long way to how I view this company; after all, his is the only face I see so he is effectively the “shop front” for the company.
Very soon after placing my online order I had a text to confirm the delivery date, which also gave me the option to simply change the delivery 'leave with neighbor', 'reschedule' etc. The day of the delivery I got the same text again but this time it also gave me a one hour delivery window in which my package would arrive. My package came right in the middle of this hour.
Ordered a package from overclockers.co.uk at 16:02 and received the next day as promised.
I received a text to inform me it would be arriving between 13:17 and 14:17, which it did.
No complaints from me, excellent service.
Would recommend to a friend.
This will be the third time DPD will have a go at delivering my package after receiving text messages informing me that the driver will be there between such and such hours and never showing.
Cutomer service people are extreamly unhelpful and couldn't care less, but that again, if everyone has this kind of service, I do not envy that job in the slightest and I hope DPD pay them a small fortune!.
I have decided to make it my goal in life to make sure that EVERYONE knows how utterly crap this company is.
How DPD manage to get any business, let alone return business is beyond me
Appalling service. Taken a day off to receive the delivery, driver did not even knock on the door and just posted the ""sorry we missed you " delivery slip at 10. 15 am .... I have two dogs with acute hearing..... love to bark when there is a knock at the front door....... Nothing!!!! To my dismay I found an "attempted" delivery slip at 10.30 at my front door. I called the company at 10.30 when slip was discovered! I provided them with my personal phone number and they assured me they would call me back( Thomas Ryan) ...... Nothing........ 4 hours later I called them again ... The reply I relieved was "so sorry the parcel has gone back to the Depot" .......30 miles away as 15 mins after the alleged "attempted " delivery they were unable to contract the driver...... Maybe they did not know how to answer the phone in a similar way that they did not know how to knock on a door ..... They need to look at the caliber of drivers they employ and the customer service lady in the second call was rude with zero customer service skills.
Thanks for the response.... I did receive my parcel on the same day , I made a complaint about your poor service to Dr Martins and they paid for a reliable courier company to collect from your depot( shame on your company) and to my surprise this professional driver knew exactly how to knock on a door to deliver a parcel....... Mind blowing !!
This was one of two separate orders on Vodafone, the delivery service was brilliant in both shipments. We had an email to say the order had been dispatched, followed by a text from DPD to say it would be delivered the next day and then early in the morning a further text giving us a 1 hour delivery window. This meant being free before and after the window which is great. On both deliveries the door was knocked within 1 minute of the start time of the window. A very polite and cheerful driver with our new phones. The best service I have had in over 30 years of experience of house deliveries. Steven & Lesley.
I live in Belgium and I purchased something from the UK few days ago. My order was dispatched on 6th June, and according to the website I'd recieve it between 3-5 days.
Today I recieved a text message at 8:27 in dutch, but I had some issues to understand it because I don't speak dutch.. Tried to translate it, but it wasn't clear since it said "DPD provides delivery of package 15501xxxxxxxxx. before 11:30 today, or send an SMS with 1, 2, 3 for 1: 11.06. 2: 12:06. 3: 13.06."
What does "before 11:30 today, or send..." ? Did you mean that I'd get my package before 11.30 today? I didn't recieve anything. And why "or"? Was I supposed to answer to the text and choose the time? I woke up late so I couldn't answer it before 11:45. I replied 3, but I haven't gotten anything yet.
But the thing that worried me the most was the fact that the tracking website said that my package was delivered and signed for by some Nicaise Kool in Mechelen, Belgium at 9:27??? That's obviously not me, and I live in Brussels not Mechelen... Why would someone else actually sign for my package and take it? Don't you ask for an ID card? What about my delivery adress? Couldn't you read it properly? I don't get it at all.
Edit:
I checked my mailbox and found the package in it. I thought the driver would ring instead of just putting it in the box since it's not something really thin, but a hoodie. Therefore there's no delay nor wrong address issue about the delivery.

I purchased a product via Amazon and paid for the express delivery (e.g Next day). I waited all that day for their 2-3pm delivery only for nothing to come. After checking my emails DPD claimed they had attempted to deliver at my address but with no answer.
I rechecked the address I supplied in case I had made the mistake, but it was correct. I then tried to find a contact number for DPD which was a nightmare, they obviously don't want to be easily reached via phone.
After getting the number (01215691400) from an independent complaints website I got through to an adviser. He apologised and informed me the package would arrive the next day before 1pm. I asked him about refunding the delivery charge and he told me to speak to Amazon.
Amazon did refund my charge with no problem so 10/10 for them there. DPD however, and I'm sure you've already guessed didn't show again. So I called the number I have for DPD again but being a Saturday the call centre was closed.
Amazon should really distance themselves from this company as it tars their name. I served in Afghanistan in 2011 and Amazon promptly got all my orders to me on time, however DPD cant manage it in Edinburgh...
I ordered a replacement mobile phone via Carphone Warehouse/Aviva on 6th June as an overnight delivery for it to be delivered 7th June. All day 7th was tracking it online with the progress bar at "in transit". Waited until about 16:00 and called DPD to ask for whereabouts due to not receiving the email promised that would tell me when the item would be delivered. Was told that it had been scanned but the container holding this item had been delayed for some reason. Explained that I get paid on a daily basis and that I had lost a days pay because of this. The adviser told me that it would now be delivered on 08th June before 13:00. Checked the online tracker at 11:00 (8th June) and still showing "in transit". Called customer services and was informed that I would still not be getting the parcel today. Asked exactly why and was informed that the pallet that this was assigned to was still not loaded onto a vehicle, asked why, but was told that they were unsure. Advised to raise a "parcel search" for which I inquired whether this should be DPDs responsibility, though told it was not. Called Carphone Warehouse, who told me that DPD SHOULD raise this themselves, though after the adviser spoke to them on the phone, discovered that this cannot be done until Monday. Turns out that my phone is not sitting on a crate/pallet awaiting shipping but lost presumed stolen. I now have to wait until late Monday to even expect an update from DPD. Genuinely gobsmacked.
I ordered a parcel in England on Tuesday morning for my Daughters car to be told it would be delivered by Thursday. Mechanic was told to expect us with the part on Thursday and he agreed to fit it then and there,
No part arrived and when I phoned DPT on Thursday afternoon I was told that it would be delivered on Friday morning. Friday no part. Phoned DPD but no operators were available. Phoned Saturday to be told that the parcel would only be delivered on Monday a due to the fact that they had only arrived at the depot on Friday night. I explained the this was unacceptable and where was the depot as I would go and collect it. I was now told that the depot was in Atlone in Southern Ireland when I live in Northern Ireland. I requested an explanation as to why a parcel was in Southern Ireland when it should have been in Northern Ireland. All she could say was that it was being delivered to the Southern region over the weekend?.
Now my daughters alternator when faulty on Monday night. The car was delivered to the mechanic who diagnosed that the unit had to be replaced. I ordered and expected the unit on Thursday. My daughter is paying 6 pounds one way a day for the bus, The car should have been delivered to her by Thursday afternoon. It will now be Monday. DPD WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTERS 12 POUNDS A DAY BUSING CHARGE. Probably nothing.
I will assure YOU that before I ever buy another thing over the internet I will make sure that DPD are not the courier. If they are I WILL pay to have another courier appointed.

I received a text message today saying my package will be delivered between 11:49 and 12:49 so I organised to leave work at 11:00 to be home for delivery.
Shortly afterwards I received another text saying the driver is running late but will be with me before 18:00, so I told work I will leave at 11:30 to be home due to the driver running late.
So I get home at 12:10 to find the "sorry we missed you" calling card with the time 11:56 written on it!
Now to me, the driver running late means he will be later than the initial slot correct? If not then why send this message to the customer when the driver is bang on time?
This is poor poor communication, if the second text wasn't sent id have the package now, but instead I have left work early for nothing!
I won't be paying the £12 saturday delivery (another ridiculously priced DPD con).
And seeing that my nearest DPD is 36 miles away it looks like I'm in a pretty lose-lose situation.
If I see DPD as the delivery method again I will certainly contact the retailer and ask for another delivery company, if not I will shop online elsewhere. Id rather that than know I will have to pay an extra £12 saturday delivery on top.
Respectfully,
Mr M Sc****
I'm sorry but your delivery service has to be one of the worse known to man. I was informed that it was going to be delivered today (6th June) in Bradford and your tracking also suggests this as it was currently in the Sheffield depot. After waiting until 8pm tonight (the 6th of June) I checked the tracking online to be told it was now in Birmingham! I'm sorry but there is just no logic in it? Sheffield is closer to Bradford so why redeliver it to another depot much further away? How you guys ever get any repeat business is beyond me.
I am currently awaiting a delivery from dpd to my work place, got a text to say between 1:00 pm and 3:30 pn...at 4:00 I rang to enquire, the kady called the driver who said half an hour...5 o clock and I an still waiting at work for this delivery
Shame as I had package with <external link removed>,change the delivery address to work last night at 6 pm and was delivered 11:00 am this morning
I am patiently awaiting delivery of some items from John Lewis to my work place i. Singapore!
I look at the DPD tracking site and find there have been two failed delivery attempts! This I find hard to believe as my work place is receives a multitude of deliveries every day!! So the driver must have gone to the wrong part and not tried very hard as I don't have at least one phone call or one card at all!!
I can't find any information as to who delivers on behalf of DPD in Singapore to contact them! - Why???
Shocking shocking service and a driver who cant be bothered to try!
I have not had a good experience with DPD either and have to say that on the whole, for me, their service has been poor. I have been waiting for 2 days for a delivery and still no joy. They first of all said they had tried to deliver yesterday but that no one was in (I took a half days holiday to be there when they said they would deliver!) and that the delivery door was white. Well our door is black and the number is clear in big brass numbers. I contacted the seller of my delivery who arranged to get the package sent to my work address and within their 1 hour window, well again no delivery, but an email saying they tried to deliver. At my work someone was available during their specified time and they certainly were not there during that timeframe. I will not be recommending that my work use this company.
I'm always slightly glad when I see amazon - or whoever has decided to use DPD, getting an approximate delivery window is great not having to sit around all day. Why can't all couriers do that?
arranged a parcel collection for Tuesday between 11:45AM and 6:00PM but wasted whole day waiting for the driver.... Nobody turned up... Called next day to rearrange collection and was reassured that the parcel will be collected before 1:00PM It's already 2:15PM and no sign of any driver, so it's 2nd day wasted waiting at home for the collection. Absolutely unreliable courier company ! Do not use them if you want to save your time and money !
update:
phoned twice DPD customer service but problem still not resolved.... sent e-mail to CS but your answer looks like that:
Thank you for your email in regards of consignment number 15501586002xxxx
I can confirm with you that this parcel has not been dispatched.
Please contact your shipper regarding this consignment.

what's the point to inform me that my parcel has not been dispatched ?? I know that as I'm still waiting for your courier.... :-)
EDIT:
finally parcel collected on 2nd day jailed at home :-( Thank you guys ! It's really sad to see how the quality of your services dropped down... You used to be really good courier company several years ago. Unfortunately it isn't the case anymore. It seems that DPD is trying to compete with rubbish companies like YODEL, lowering your prices and loosing your good reputation at the same time... Don't go this way guys !
I ordered from Salon Direct, at about 10pm on Sunday 2nd June. My order arrived Tuesday 4th June. DPD, e mail me to tell me my parcel estimated delivery would be on Tuesday 4th June at between 13.55- 14.55. Knock on the door at 13.55, dead on, my parcel fro DPD, had arrived. What can I say.....Absolutely fantastic service.....Would I recommend DPD, Number 1, for speed, and customer service.
Thanks guys, Karen. x

My parcel has been sent from Uk on 31 of May with the next day delivery, today is end of 4th June and still nothing. When I checking the website is showing me: "31 May 2013 21:51 Hub 3 - Birmingham Your parcel has been received at our sortation hub"
When I ring to my depot they said that they dont have it.
Where is that next day delivery. I need that to be delivered to me till tomorrow morning because I will be away for two week after that.
Whats going on?
Anybody can answer me?
I am incredibly pleased with the service which I have received on the last two days running. My parcels have arrived exactly when I have been informed they would arrive. This service is SPEEDY! It is nice to know that you don't have to wait in hoping your parcels etc will arrive, you can arrange your day..
WELL DONE DPD! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Upon an email from the site I ordered from telling me my order had been dispatched, I got an email and text message from DPD asking whether the delivery date is okay for me, and options to change it or have it delivered to a neighbour.
I chose to have it delivered to a neighbour, because I would be at work the day it was due. On the day, I received another email and text message telling me the hour slot it was due, and afterwards another text to say it had been successfully delivered to a neighbour — they even told me what neighbour they delivered it to.
I've never been kept so up-to-date like this whilst waiting for a parcel before, it was an unparalleled delivery service.

I ordered something from Amazon last night which had free next day delivery. I got the usual emails from them telling me it was being dispatched, this morning I got an email telling me my order was on its way, followed by another telling me it would be delivered between 13.03 and 14.03 by Darren. It arrived at 13.40. This was the most hassle free delivery I have ever experienced. Well done DPD and thanks.
