Frustrating and a waste of my day

I received a text at 8.25 this morning informing me that Dominic would be delivering my parcel between 11.57 and 12.57, I've received further delivery info throughout today, good stuff I thought, as I've really been looking forward to taking delivery of my parcel..... alas these notifications have become empty promises....

My tracking advice informs me my parcel had been delivered and signed for ... 30 miles away at 12.20pm, I've called DPD but of course on Saturday their office is only open for half a day... the first half ....... half day in the middle of a long Easter weekend.... really irritating that they are not there and that their customer service line is expensive to call in order to learn they are not there !

I'm unsure as to how Dominic could be so confused about the delivery destination.... 30 miles out is a large error, Exeter is clearly not Torquay...

They lied to us, wasted half our day

After receiving an email advising us the parcel would arrive today between 11:48 and 12:48 we changed our plans for the day and waited in. We tracked driver Jamie around the area, he got to parcel 40 and we were 42. Next thing, an email saying they couldn't deliver because no one was here. A blatant lie - apart from there being 4 of us here waiting for the delivery so that we could go out, the child who the parcel was for had been watching for the van since 11:00 'in case he came early'.
There was no calling card (not surprising as there was no van either). Why tell us it would arrive today if they were not even going to try, and worse still why lie to us?
Wasted half our day and disappointed a child. What a shambles. Unreliable, unprofessional, dishonest. I may not be able to choose who other businesses use to send parcels to me, but I can choose who I use and, perhaps more significantly, strongly influence who my employer uses. Not DPD as far as I'm concerned - I wouldn't want this lack of service in my companies name.

Absolute useless service

What a crap company to deal with! For the last three days their tracking site has been telling me of great news that they have my parcel and its on its way to me. I paid twice the value of the goods on Monday to have next day delivery, its now Friday so where is it? Tried contacting them through their website two days ago, which promises to get back within 24 hours, that's a wind up as well. It may only have been a small package but its disrupted our Easter. Thanks a bunch DPD!

Who has my parcel????

Great a txt service to allow the driver to leave my parcel with a neighbour. I can go out with the kids knowing my parcel will be left safe next door........right?
.......WRONG!
I came home tracked the consignment and didn't recognize the name. No calling cards where left by the driver......who has my parcel????? I knocked at the neighbors, both of which were in all morning and nothing? I went to their neighbours and so on and no one knows the name that's was signed for on the delivery.
How hard is it to leave a card with a house number on?
Is it lost, is it stolen, is it a simple mistake? Who knows because yet again these couriers (most of whom are franchised) all hide behind an email barricade and can't be contacted by phone.
It may only cost a few quid more per parcel to use a big brand name but at least they take the hit if and when it does go wrong and 90% of the time you can actually speak to someone.
Appalling.

FAST FIRST CLASS SERVICE

Email received on the morning of delivery advising a time slot between 11.50 and 12.50 and the name of the driver. I was able to track the whereabouts of the delivery van which gives very precise information and when checking at 11.45 it was telling me that Daniel would be with me within 30 minutes and he arrived at 12.12. Daniel is an extremely pleasant young man and is certainly a good ambassador for your company.
I just hope that more companies will use you because the service you provided today was second to none.

brilliant parcel delivery service!

Never has this company ever delivered outside their stated one hour delivery time! I cannot fault them & the drivers they employ are polite, friendly & courteous! I recommend completely.

The best parcel company I have dealt with

Arrived on time, to the right location (not easy as in our case most SatNavs take you to the wrong place). Van was clean inside and out, driver was polite and helpful. System worked exactly as it should. I wish all parcel companies were as good as this.

Very Bad Service!

Had a 24 hour service turn up 48 hours later had to explain to the son on his 6th birthday that his present is going to be late. Not happy

Really good service, always turn up within the given time. Excellent!

Out of all the companies that deliver goods I order, DPD are by far the best.
I am given a delivery date and allowed to either change the date or have the option of leaving the parcel with a neighbour - the time slot is txted to me and they have never failed to turn up within the specified time.
I had a parcel delivered by Hermes today - thrown over the fence with no prior information the parcel was on its way.
The DPD driver tends to be the same guy, always friendly.

Very Poor

I went online to arrange to collect my parcel from the Oldbury depot, When I arrived at the depot it transpired my parcel had been picked up by Interlink and was out for delivery. I had travelled an overall distance of 36 miles for no apparent reason to be told I have to now return the next day to get my parcel..

Reliable every time!

I receive parcels from DPD on a regular basis. I always receive a text giving me an hour time spot for delivery. The driver Ian always arrives within the time, is friendly helpful and always has a smile. I recommend them to everyone. Thank you for a great service.

Always prompt and efficient

We run a mail order business and our deliveries from suppliers via DPD in B38 (Kings Norton, Birmimngham) are consistently on time. Excellent regular delivery driver.

Worst of the worst

I've had 2 dealings with this company, the 1st time a large package was left on my doorstep, the 1st week of December. Unsurprisingly it was stolen (and given it's contents I'd have loved to see the thieves face on opening) the 2nd time, this time, they tried to deliver my package to a completely wrong address - it wasn't even a similar sounding road, or a neighbour, it seemed plucked from the address book at random. Only thing I would say was on calling the customer service rep he didn't try to pretend or hide behind anything, he was honest about things.

So in short I wouldn't choice to use them, and if ever forced to again I would ride that delivery all the way in to ensure we didn't go 3 for 3

DPD are the most customer minded delivery company I have dealt with, great.

DPD were fantastic when it came to delivering a mail order item I was waiting for. I received a text message in advance detailing the 1 hour slot for the delivery and the name of the driver. They delivered on time and the driver was cheerful and professional. If only other delivery companies would follow DPD's example and give such good customer service. Thank you DPD, carry on the good work.

Bright and cheerful, even after a long day

I was delighted to be able to track my delivery in real time. It was such a change from having to wait in all day with an ear to the doorbell. Exactly as promised, there was Ben on my doorstep with my parcel and a smile - and I was delivery number 105.

Always a pleasure to receive a parcel from DPD UK

I just think the text msg advising an aprox delivery time is just great, specially since most of us have a busy life and don't always have time ti hang about all day waiting for a parcel, this is a great service and wish all companies sending a parcel used it :-) .

Terrible

I was emailed that the my item should arrive between 15:11 and 16:11 on the 11/04/14 but I didn't receive the item. When i tried to track the item online it says the item has been signed for, but I've checked with my neigbours and none of them have it also there is no note at my door. So it's obviously been delivered to the wrong address.
When I contacted DPD directly they didn't reply within the 24 hours they said they would. Very disappointed.
