I opened an account with easyMarkets…
I opened an account with easyMarkets after being told by their agents that news trading was allowed. Based on this information, I traded during news events and made a profit.
However, when I tried to withdraw my funds, my withdrawal was cancelled. I then spent around 2–3 weeks trying to resolve the issue and get my money back. I contacted their agents almost every day and repeatedly asked them to escalate the issue to the relevant department.
Eventually, I was able to withdraw $237, but another $104 could not be withdrawn and simply disappeared from my account.
What concerns me most is that I was explicitly told by their agent that news trading was allowed, yet I faced withdrawal problems after making a profit through this type of trading. I also spent weeks communicating with their support team just to get access to my own funds.
I believe potential customers should be aware of this experience before opening an account with easyMarkets. I would also like a clear explanation of what happened to the remaining $104 and why my withdrawal was cancelled in the first place.

News trading is permitted, provided it is not conducted in a manner that breaches our trading terms. Before opening an account, clients agree to review and comply with the Client Agreement, including Section 10, “Unauthorized Activities,” on pages 19–21 of our Legal documentation. This section addresses prohibited forms of news-gap and break-gap trading, including opening positions immediately before a news release or using trading strategies designed to take advantage of guaranteed execution or negative-balance protection without genuine exposure to market risk.
Our records indicate that, shortly after your account was activated on 12 August, you focused on the US CPI announcement and placed a number of very rapid trades during the event. Following a warning email sent on 14 August, your account was placed under review. During a Live Chat conversation on 2 September, you were informed that the withdrawal function had been temporarily disabled and that the remaining funds were being held while the investigation was completed. You were also advised not to submit further withdrawal requests until the review had concluded.
Once the investigation was completed, we sent a final notification on 8 September explaining the outcome and the reason why the remaining balance was removed. This decision was based on our assessment that the funds resulted from trading activity that breached the applicable terms and conditions.
We understand that this outcome may be disappointing. Nevertheless, we are committed to applying our Client Agreement consistently and encourage all clients to review the relevant terms carefully before trading. Should you require clarification regarding the correspondence or the outcome of the review, please contact our support team through your registered email address so that your case can be discussed securely.

My name is Daniel Wright, I’ve deposited over R80,000 into this company. However I get told that because I’ve withdrawn more than my deposits I don’t qualify for a bonus. They also manipulate your leverage and spread. I also never got a refferral bonus for getting my friend to sign up. They take every chance not to help you. - Daniel Wright

Thank you Daniel Wright, we're sincerely sorry that you feel this way but as explained to you bonuses are only applicable of new money deposits. Since you withdrew already your initial deposit and your profits, any new deposit below this amount is not considered new money. You are just redepositing what you withdrew therefor this will not qualify for further bonuses.
As for the leverage and spreads, since you are using our web/app trader you are on fixed spread and fixed leverage even during high impact news events, so your statement stating we manipulate both is not truthful.
Regarding the refer a friend statement, again this is not truthful, you have never referred anyone so there is no bonus to be paid. You can check this for yourself on your web portal under the refer a friend section where you can get a full statement of your activity.
