Simply to signs up and install your items

i give a thumbs up to Ebid. Unlike ebay and paypal they have a great customer service and easy to deal with staff. I think with Paypal you are unable to explain something to them and their opinion sticks and they make you feel like a criminal when all you do is ask a question. Ebid is simple to use and underrated. Come on Ebid up you games and take over Ebay we need them to stop mistreating people.

I also want to say that on Ebid you can sign up to PPPay which is like Paypal. So why do Ebay only use their own (Paypal) is this unfair? I think so.

I sold over 1,800 items on eBid in 2013

eBid provides great selling platform that provides you the facilities to build a cost effective online shop filled with listings that are free to list. In 2013 I had over 1,800 items sell (from 65p to £65.00) and my customer base is increasing year on year, my total sales on eBid is getting near to 5,000 items sold.

With a SELLER+ account you can have up to 5 shops free for life - you can list as many items as you want in them, again that is free. Using gallery listings (which is important) the FVF is just 2%.

When I used to sell on another site (you know the one) I always felt that I was just selling and not building anything, it was all for the benefit of them and not for me. Which is why I came to sell on eBid, now I can build something substantial for my benefit.

The eBid platform is a great selling platform, use it wisely. With good Google search and shopping exposure you are selling to anyone with an internet connection. Remember that other online selling sites teach nothing about sales whatsoever, they are only concerned about profits and large outlet sellers. On eBid you have the tools to learn how to sell and how to build, it puts the fun factor back into selling.

If you are a good seller, a seller that can learn and adapt, a seller who wants to not just sell but build a sustainable customer base which ensures growth - then eBid is the place you should be selling.

Many good purchases can be made on eBid and I am happy that I found eBid.

The Big eBid Joke - Is on YOU if You List on eBid

I joined eBid about 4 months ago after becoming disenchanted with eBay. Didi read several negative reviews, but thought well - let's see for myself. I have good products that sell well on [external reference], on [external reference] and on [external reference]. so it figures they should sell on eBid.

I should have saved my 49 GBP Lifetime Fee and the hours spent setting up about 150 products on eBid. Not a single sale in 4 months.

Yes of course it is my fault, not that of eBid, that they don't have traffic. Joking of course.

Stay away - you will not sell enough to recoup your lifetime fee :)

A complete scam.

I saw a good deal for a tablet from a Seller+ with 120 feedback. The moment I paid the seller's account was closed without notice. Ebid did not even bother to notify me that the account had been closed.

On speaking to ebid they suggest I go to the police. On checking with PPPay I see there is an escrow option to protect your money but this was not made clear at the time of payment. PPPay's advice? go to the police as well.

When looking at the feedback in detail I see that a 'moderator' from ebid transferred 118 of the feedback ratings from some other site. In other words it was completely fabricated.

Having carried out some brief research I see that the seller is in fact a con artist who has already served time in jail.

This was my first and last transaction with ebid. I have used ebay for many years and during the odd problem they have helped me out. ebid could not care less. You can tell this is not an unusual problem when you receive the automated responses from both PPPay and ebid that leave you in no doubt that it's definitely not their fault. In fact it might be easier if they simply send an email out stating "it's not our fault, we have made our money you are on your own but please say positive things about ebid"

You have been warned. I will be posting this review everywhere I can find to do so.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME NO BUYERS ANYWHERE

Do not bother signing up for this company especially paying the lifetime fee.I realise E bay is now taking more than its fair share of money off the seller but you will be extremely lucky if you manage to sell ANYTHING on E bid. They don't like negative comments on their Facebook page and stop you posting on their pages.E bid has potential but most sellers on there are actually charging more than E bay sellers .You would expect it to be the other way around as e bay sellers have far more fees to pay than e bid sellers.Do yourselves a favour leave well alone.

I encourage you to switch from eBay to eBid - we have and are delighted

We all know how awful eBay is nowadays. Many sellers have seen their sales fall year on year, their fees increase year on year and their customer service is beyond frustrating (I think they must train their staff how best to upset their users with ridiculous excuses!).
Giants do fall - Nokia? Blackberry? the search engine AltaVista, Netscape Navigator.
eBay thinks it is invincible, hence their attitude - well an ocean is made of drops, if enough drops emigrate to eBid it will become an ocean and eBay will falter.
We have made the move, we've sold on eBay for 10 years, we're Top Rated Sellers of Platinum Status and have held that status for many years. Enough is enough, we've made the move as many others have too. Understandably if you can't just stop selling on eBay altogether at least run them parallel and encourage your customers (email lists, etc) to make future purchases on eBid. You can offer them financial incentives as it costs SO MUCH less to sell on eBid.
Currently there are 3,428,407 listings in the UK, with new listings in the last 24hrs : 78,514, its beginning to grow lets join together and make it happen

A good up-and-coming alternative site.

eBid is a good alternative site, but it works differently to eBay. It suits small sellers with a lot of items to sell. You have to work harder at promoting your items and your stores, but the advantages are much lower fees and a friendly, helpful community of sellers and buyers. People who have given this site bad reviews have probably only listed a couple of items and then sat back and expected them to sell straightaway, like on eBay. Buyers are more cautious on this lesser-known site, so they expect to know a bit about who you are and what you're selling. The more items you list, the higher your profile. I list items for sale on eBid, but I also run stalls at community events to promote my items and my eBid stores. If you are serious about selling, give eBid a go. If you just want to get rid of a few unwanted items quickly, stick to Feebay.

Not what i was hoping for

I found ebidz pretty horrid to look at and found most of the sellers didn't respond to me, I have been trying out all the new selling sites now on the web over the last few months and this site just sucks.

So many others to try, if your going to put time into helping get another selling site off the ground dont waste your time with this one.

Horrendous & Pointless - Keep your money, save your time & STAY AWAY!

As many others have, I fell in to the trap of signing up for eBid's £49.99 "Lifetime Membership" deal.

You can list as much as you want, whenever you want.
You never pay any listing fees, you pay a minimal "final value fee" on every sale (not that this matters - you won't sell anything).
No relisting fees etc.

It just looks great, doesn't it?!

Well, it could be great if anybody actually went on the site & bought things!!

I've been on there for over a year now, and have listed my FULL stock list - the same as on eBay (nearly 1000 items).

How many sales do you think I've had..?
You guessed it - ZERO!!!

Don't waste your time & money.
It's a pointless exercise.
You will be £50 out of pocket, and you'll have wasted a LOT of time listing hundreds of items that will just NEVER sell (as I did).

In the last year, I've had around 5000 sales on eBay, compared to ZERO sales on eBid.
Yes I dislike eBay - doesn't every seller?
Their fees are a joke and their treatment of sellers is getting worse.

BUT, at least you are definitely going to sell your items on there.

eBid has potential, but as long as they refuse to advertise and promote their business, it is pointless even considering signing up.

STAY AWAY!
Save your money, save your time, stick with eBay for the time being and actually make some money!

A well-designed, well-laid out, well supported but completely empty website

There just aren't enough people using eBid to justify spending £50 to register as a seller. I understand the argument that it's up to you ti promote your own online store, but if eBid are taking this much money from people wanting to set up an on-line shop, then they bear at least part of the responsibility for promotion. They are all too keen to encourage people to sign up their friends with their buddy point system, when was the last time you saw an eBid TV advert or even a banner ad? That's a little too close to multi-level marketing to sit 100% percent comfortably with me.

Does what it says on the tin

It amuses me that eBid as a site gets 1 star when it is the seller of the item that is to blame for a bad experience. You wouldn't blame the owner of a mall if you had a bad experience with one of the shops in the mall. There are some bad sellers, agreed, check their feedback before buying, that's what it's there for!!!!

I've been selling and buying on eBid for a while now, I don't pay to list and I pay 2% when a product sells. I make sure my auctions have a Buy now price and make sure they are uploaded to Google Shopping for the exposure they offer for free. Their support helps me when quickly I need it. Cannot complain at all.

Would be great if anything sold!

I paid the 'lifetime' fee and joined ebid nearly 2 years ago. I have yet to make a single sale. Even after listing the same items I sell over and over on eBay, & at a lower price. As a buyer, you would think there would be bargains to be had, but I've yet to find them. And the lack of buyer protection puts me off of buying anyway.

Oh well, live and learn...

Do not buy from eBid

I purchased a replacement Macbook charger from a seller username "macbookcharger". The charger came and did not work, i posted a comment to the seller that the charger did not work. The seller told me to return it and they will refund the $21.95 (with no help from the seller on a return label, RMA, or shipping costs for a BROKEN product, all of which i had to take care of on my own). The product was delivered a week ago according to the tracking number from the post office, and i STILL have not received a refund. Furthermore, eBid offers no way to report sellers, or ensure that returns and/or exchanges are handled efficiently and fairly. DO NOT buy from eBID, it was my first and last time doing so.

With Ebid you get what you pay for

I have been selling on EBid for over 6yrs. I agree the sales are not as good as Ebay. But for £ 49 I get 5 stores. No listing Fee,& only a 2% V.V.F. How much would that cost on EBay. I t is a cheap way of having your own website, that you need to promote in the same way.
The forums are full of Ebidders only to willing to help with any issues you may have and management answers queries I would say within 48hrs.
I wonder if the negative posters on here are people who have been banned from EBid for breaking EBid rules. I Wonder.

Ebid is the way to go

I have been a member for a little over 2 months, and although sales have been slow, I have had several sales.

At ebay I had a lot of sales, but then their shoddy practices kicked in I achieved above standard seller status in 1 month, that is too quick for them, first thing they did was instruct there payment provider Paypal (they own it) to withhold any more payments for 21 days for the next three months (they actully kept it there for 6 months), then when I asked why they had done this my sales stopped dead.

They over at the bay only want big sellers, and will do anything they can to force the smaller seller away.

EBID on the other hand is most welcoming, the users are friendly and a forum where you can chat with other users and get help and advice if you need it.

A Company Run By Human Beings - Incredible!

After spending five years on ebid as a buyer and seller, I can honestly say it has been a pleasure.
Their customer service is the best I have encountered on the internet, full stop.
A request for help is answered swiftly and with a real sense of purpose. You will not get a stock answer to a question you did not ask, or, even worse, ignored.
The sellers I have encountered have all been responsive and happy to reply to enquires.
Try ebid, ask questions and just have a browse, I am sure you will like it too.

My eBid Bill keeps getting bigger!

Now that doesn't sound positive, does it? Well, it is. If my bill is larger than last year, I'm selling more than I did last year!

eBid is a fast growing online auction/selling site. The site managers don't sell - independent sellers do, so reviews blaming the site for bad behaviour of sellers are inaccurate. Once management know a seller is bad, that seller will be removed.

I sell random collectables and craft patterns. I could not possibly afford to list large numbers of low value items anywhere else. And they sell, steadily.

eBid offers a stable platform (they've never changed the rules so my stuff suddenly stops selling which has happened twice with the market leader), real people writing the support replies, low prices (which have not changed in years - management appear to be happy to accept that a growing site with growing sales will give them growing revenue), Google shopping uploads for items with a buy it now price and more variations to the style of listing than you can possibly want.

It's not perfect - we could use more sales but then who couldn't?

Great place to buy and sell

I have been on ebid now for 10 years as first a buyer only and now a buyer and seller. Some of the reviews focus on individual sellers but I have found on the whole eBid is great. As a buyer i often get bargains as sellers can list their items cheaper because of the lower fees. As a seller any problems are sorted out very quickly by the management who are real people not bots. I am a hobby seller and sell 3-5 items a week which suits me fine. I signed up for the £49.49 lifetime seller deal which allows me to list for free, have 5 shops free and only pay a 2% final value fee on my sales. I would recommend eBid wholeheartedly
