Not Bad - Just wish I had for sales :(

I have had my ecarter for a few years now. I have had two actually! The first one I had, I didnt make not one sale! I had that open for 2 years! I decided to close it down only because I found it becoming a waste of time for me! I have had another store before, from another website, which I was getting a lot of sales on, but it got too expensive to keep up and running, so I had to find something else! Later on down the line, I reopened a new ecrater only because I changed what I wanted to sell and decided it was time to give it a try again!

I hand make hair accessories and body accessories. Of course I add some other items here and there... I have made 2 sales since reopening! But now ecrater is charging a fee if the sale came from their market place! But I guess they need to make their money some how too! And then I get an email saying that google checkout is no longer going to be come November 20th!!!! I dont use Paypal, I have had bad times with them and wish not to deal with them!!

But ecrater is simple! It works if you know what you are doing! If you think youre going to become a millionaires over night, think again! And like most have said before, ecrater is a marketplace, not a seller!

Just started on Ecrater. I am a seller and I am using the site to flea market items.

I have been using Ecrater now for about 9 months. I have not found any major problems with this site. I am using this site to help me clean out my house with all the accumulated items I have collected over the years. It is easier to list on the computer then to try to run a yard sale weekly. I am an honest seller and will not "scam" anyone. I will list my items as a fair price for other listings but I am always open to suggestions. Scam site. Buyers beware or risk losing your money.

I purchased a Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub Hard Floor Cleaner from this seller(Anna2368). Thus far, I have not recieved any confirmation or Order status from the seller. I sent many emails asking for a status and got no response. I sent another email asking tthis seller to cancel the order and refund my money back and still no response.
Finally I filed a complaint against this seller to eCrater and this is the reply I got from them,
"Thank you for your email. While the store was active when your order was placed, unfortunately, themerchant's store is currently inactive and pending review. Please visit thePayPal Resolution Center in order to file a dispute with PayPal. This was the first time I purchased through eCrater and this is first time ever I got cheated buying online.

Anyway I have opened a dispute with Paypal and hope I get my money back.
So please do not buy anything through this site or risk losing your money.

I purchased a product from a seller who received nothing but good reviews. However it seems the seller no longer exists and ecrater failed to remove their listing. They, however, did not fail in taking my $450. Not a reliable source for purchasing products. Stick to ebay and amazon.

NUTRI BULLET NOT GOOD

I bought a nutribullet from you and I noticed it is not durable at all. I used it for only 3 month and it started leaking badly. Oh What a product. Now I cannot not use it any longer. What should I do?

Some are valid, some scammers

Here's what I think is going on. Scammers take stuff that was PREVIOUSLY LISTED, but SOLD, and then somehow are able to take over the listing. I was going to order a baby swing a couple weeks ago, and I believe that sale was legit. However I didn't pay right away, but had contact with the seller, and was requested to pay through Pay Pal when I first was ordering.

Later, I went back to order, and couldn't find the listing but searched for it. This time, when I went to purchase it, I wasn't asked to pay but to pay COD- who does that anymore?? SO I emailed the seller, NOT the same seller it turns out, who replied with a shoddy-English type, "Yes you pay us first and then we are shipping to you." Um, no thanks.

Maybe try to contact your seller to see if it's legit (i.e. check their grammar) before ordering, that would be my advice.

Ecrater is a Marketplace, not a seller.

Unlike some of the people here, I like Ecrater. I have been both a buyer and a seller. One thing that people forget is that Ecrater is a marketplace, like Ebay. If you order an item, you are ordering from a specific seller, not Ecrater itself. As with all marketplaces, whether they are Ebay, etsy, ecrater, or Bob's Bargain Board, scammers exist.

Ecrater help sellers by providing a digital storefront to place their products. I follow the rules, terms, and conditions when I sell. And I do my due diligence when I buy. If customers place an order with a scammer, Paypal or credit card companies will issue a refund. Just remember, if it looks too good to be true.......................

I just opened my eCrater store, and I'm an honest person...

I worried now after reading these reviews. I've been on eBay forever and their fees are just crazy. Plus with all the junk for sale form China for 99 cents, it's hard to compete and make a profit anymore.

If anybody wants to check out my store, I'd appreciate it. I just opened it a few days ago so it has limited products right now but I'm adding new items all the time. I have also put a link to my eBay account in my "about me" section on eCrater so you can check me out before hand.

I also made a Facebook page so you can like my store.

I'm a very honest person, I've never ripped off a customer. I'm sorry about everybody's bad experiences.

not trustworthy in every way...

Just at the moment when I got an order of about $ 2000 I had put my hope on, eCrater suddenly interfered on my site. First they cleared the shippingmatrix which I had so painstakingly filled in...all my work gone....! When I wanted to got hold of them to question about this...there was no reply. Instead soon afterwards, I found I could not even log into the shop (tstore shoptube.ecrater.com), nor into the admin panel, it was blocked!
Now until this very day, no reason whatever is being given why this all had happened. But there is more to it.
I happen to live together with a relative in the same house. Nevertheless we use different pc's and are not acquainted with each other's doings. Little did I know until recently, that she was also having an eCraterstore (vifdfashion) for quite a while. She's a perfectionist and artistic in all her works, and when she does, she gives all of her heart. as she did in setting up her store. She had put a lot of effort in and I believe there were even articles listed, that were of her own intellectual make.
When she was all in tears and near to a nervous breakdown, she complained to me about eCrater, how her trust which she had put in this enterprise had been so betrayed, she was deeply hurt
So, eCrater.... why are you such a bunch of assholes? First you invite people to make a shop, give them a lot of bullshit and hardtime like with the shippingmatrix, supplying no or no adequate explanation on the use of your site...,and then just strip them off when money begins to roll in? I do believe it's not any hacker, but you yourself who's taking shops out of the air, using your harsh rules.
Because that's what had happened with her...she began to earn with the shop (just like I did!) No accidental circumstance, just a villain's action.... No wonder there are so many negative reactions on your site...you don't come up to what you promised us. First you say we can trust you, than you betray us...without giving us any reason whatever. The world must know, which people are the real criminals.
You make believe as if our sites are hacked, but you've done this yourselves.....going down on what? You've not even given a reason, not a sound... I bet the money from the orders standing, you've by now put in your own pocket.....Your 'disciplinary rules' are not disciplinary if you don't communicate about it on a personal level. Never heard about ethics..or some lenience? Why can't a husband help his wife with her shop? Because if for any reason that's basically what happened in the case of my relative. And yes she made some mistake mistyping her emailaddress.... but why so harsh, so....soulless, so non-communicative?
People who are thinking of setting up a store with eCrater, watch out......! I can only talk out of my own experience....but I do believe there are people behind eCrater who have set their eyes on your profits, watching like vultures. it's not about your gain, you are being used... Ok, and if it's not the people, than it's the system..., systems are still made by the brains behind it....
So, work your shop till it shines, many customers come to buy from...But beware, while you have put so much energy, emotions and hardship in it. All done with the best of your intentions in all honesty. To find out that they are most unfriendly and even intimidative when asking for help. Finally to be shot down by 'suddenly-mr-anonymous-with-your-bs-rules'.....
Ok anyone, go ahead sign in maybe you will experience what I mean.....But I personally agree with so many gone before me: where has honesty gone....? There still are people who are honest and sincere in their intentions! And what about the people who did buy and are waiting for their products....don't they in the end also become victims of your attitude?
The eCrater policy should be reviewed. It cannot be compared with eBay or Amazone....because what stands behind is soooooo evil...., so not trustworthy!

Unfortunately, There is always some degree of risk buying anything anyplace and I am wondering iwhy everyone isn't using a bank card or PayPal. for purchases online -they both offer buyer prottection!

I have never worried too much about being ripped off- and people have tried to. I tried 4 times to buy genuine 7 For All Mankind jeans on eBay and received counterfeit jeans everytime. Because I have always used a credit/debit card or PayPal, I am protected as a buyer and have never lost money.
Ecrater undoubtedly has its share of conS but you must be naïve or just plain stupid to think they aren't operating anywhere else. They is buyer protection- use a card or PayPal!

At 10a.m. I ordered a digital downlaod of software from an eCrater seller that sounded almost too good to be true, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. The transaction was processed and I made payment using PayPal. Soon an email receipt from PayPal confirming the funds had been sent was received followed shortly after by an email acknowledgment from eCrater that my order had been successful. But then nothing from the seller. I waited and waited but no comunication from the seller until finally the following day an email appeared with clear and concise instructions. The software was exactly as described with full links and instructions on how to register with the software manufacturers. The download, entry of the product key and registration process all worked as advertised by the seller. In the end I was pleased with my purchase but due to some poor experiences noted in online reviews I felt anxious until the software was installed and fully registered.

I was scammed – never received item and store disappeared.

I feel stupid for ever trusting an eCrater site and will never purchase from one again.

Very good for sellers, but be careful buyers!

eCrater is great for sellers, no fees what-so-ever. But buyers have to really check the websites sellers use in order to configure if it's a scam or real seller. Since eCrater is free and almost rule-less, it's easy for buyers to be scammed. But buyers should be more responsible and look for buyers with good reviews and a nicely put together site.

Good luck selling one thing per year on ecrater!

Sales are so very low on this site & if you go to the forums trying to inquire about what is going on with the site or to offer some suggestions to improve things, the seller pile-on will turn you off of ever asking for help or offering suggestions again. The forum contributors will make you feel very unwelcome for any post.

Every single thread I looked at had a bullying vibe to it. The weird thing is, there is a section set up to offer suggestions, but all suggestions are immediately shot down by the forum regulars. I even had one woman tell me that I looked fat in one of my pictures that I modeled some jeans in & that she would never buy a pair of jeans that would make a person look so fat!

First off. I am not fat at all. I have a healthy, curvy, hourglass figure that Hollywood actresses pay lots of money to plastic surgeons & trainers to emulate. I weigh 121 pounds if I am retaining water & I am 5'2". The jeans I was modeling fit me perfectly, are a size 27 & they are a very high-end pair of jeans with a designer-qulaity cut that works well for my body-type.

Secondly, the thread I started had NOTHING to do with my items, my sales, my pictures, my store, or anything that would invite such an insult from anyone. I was simply making a suggestion about a way to improve the ease-of-use of the site for sellers, because this site is glitchy & buggy. The moderator completely ignored the insult & actually attacked me for responding to the woman who insulted me & reminding her that being rude was unnecessary. All other respondents to the thread were supportive of the rude woman. This is a very negative site.

The site is full of really dumb requirements like shipping matrix & attributes. Really? Shipping matrix? It isn't accurate though ecrater lovers swear up & down that it is. Some things are so buggy & glitchy & annoying, you just have to ignore them. Basically, because shipping matrix is so off, I can't even offer shipping outside of US & Canada. Kinda lame for the rest of the world. :(

Anyway, I leave items up there that I am basically "dumping". I sell all my good stuff somewhere else.

It's a free site but you get what you pay. Nothing.

I sell on Ecrater and have had good experience with buyers. Their feedback system could be improved but over all - I am satisfied with my selling experience on the site. I sell antiques and collectibles - vintage Tupperware, cutlery, bottles, jars, tools, glassware, etc.

Seller haters

I have sold on this site for a long time despite the fact that they have an unbalanced bias towards the buyers.

There is no way for a seller to leave feedback for the ridiculous buyers that purchase from this site & all it takes is 1 or 2 nutcase buyers to get your store suspended.

I have met some VERY sweet buyers on this site but it seems like for the most part only the nutjobs leave feedback & rant & rave & sellers have to just take it & be scolded by their poor excuse for "customer service" when trying to find out why the h%ll their stores been shut down with NO NOTICE>

I would like to thank ecrater for being so crappy that they gave me the push to open my own site where I have a more level playing field.

Etsy is great alternative

I gave this company 3 stars because I've neither bought nor sold on it. I've only browsed and didn't really like the way it is set up. But it is free, so I guess a seller can't complain, but a buyer may be put off.

I haven't heard much about eCrater, good or bad, at all. I am an occasional seller and buyer on eBay with only one bad selling experience (no pay but relisted and sold for same price). I stick primarily to selling on Etsy, which is great for 20+ year old stuff and handmade things. I started buying (gifts) over a year ago and have 100% satisfaction. I've been selling my vintage items for a few months and have had a great start with my shop. More people that I talk to have heard about Etsy (but it isn't free to sell, but still cheaper and better experience for me than eBay) than eCrater, especially those interested in vintage/handmade.

Order yet to arrive?

I ordered a gift from convenient gadgets through ecrater 12/16. My order has not arrived, and I have sent several emails to convenient gadgets, and they are yet to contact me back. The shipping was supposed to be 1-3 days, while I can understand that it may take a bit longer during this holiday season, this is just bad business. Christmas has come and gone and I have paid for the item, and have not received anything, not even an email from convenient gadgets and gifts. The problem with e crater is I cannot contact them until 14 days, and only if I have not heard from the merchant. I feel as though e crater only protects its merchants, and the consumer can easily get scammed.

GOT SCAMMED!!!!

Beware of this website. I bought a videogame for Christmas from a seller that had great reviews. However, upon further investigation, they somehow posted 400+ positive reviews without any comments to support it. It looked as if they were legit and had great feedback, but in fact they had fraudulently posted those as well. Long story short, I never got the item and now I am having to file a claim with PayPal. I will never buy from eCrater.com again. They don't care if you get scammed. They just send you onto hassle with PayPal.

Not so bad an expirence.

I've purchased twice through this site and haven't had an issues with them. I was satisfied with my purchases. However it is a site with difficulties and not well polished. It can be difficult to maneuver through.

Great place for a little money on the side

Ecrater is very user friendly. I print out all my shipping labels with Paypal and can easily retrieve customer's emails if I need to contact them.
My complaints are that the sales are infrequent. I've also had people try to scam me more often because they assume because I am on ecrater I am not a seasoned seller. Also some orders do not go through. So I will be excited over an order notice and no payment. I would rather not know about the order at all if that is the case.
google is also a problem. It's telling me my home made candy is not labeled correctly because I don't have the right serial number or company. It has
completely removed it. I had to repost it. It's also tried to get me to join adword again and again. I do not want to join adword. I hear it is a waste of money.

over all an ecrater order is really worth it. It's got me through tough times. It just needs some work.

Excellent Buying Experience 4.5 stars

I have bought from ecrater for over 100 times and it has been great for me. It is true that there are scammers on ecrater and for the first several times I got scammed by some fraudulent sellers. At first I was really pissed at the scammers and ecrater in general and even vowed that I would never go back to shop from this website ever again.

However after some time I thought back to the experience and realized that it was my fault that I got scammed. I never checked to see whether the sellers were legit or not. I went on ecrater again to check and saw that none of the sellers that I bought from had positive feedback ratings. Not only that, they did not even had any contact information that I could use or any policy on their Terms page.

After that I decided to buy only from sellers with good feedback ratings, have a list of policy, clear contact information and things have turned out really well for me. Like E-bay except for the getting what you paid for part.

I ordered an NFL Jersey for my step son. Luckily for me I did it in October because here I am three weeks later with no jersey for Christmas. This website is so bad though I lucked into the scammer..... er... seller having not yet retrieved my payment at paypal (how odd is that?) cancelled the order, and now for three dollars cheaper have ordered one off of E-bay.

Advertises non-existing products

I found an ad for a $200 mini-ipad at Ecrater. Click on it and "product doesn't exist," This isn't the first items that has enticed me to head to Ecrater with the same results. I'm sure this is just a trick to get me acquainted with the site. Now that I"m acquainted, I'll be sure to avoid it

Ecrater is a joke! dont waste your time!

Ecrater does not inform their sellers they are suspended. They also waste your time trying to explain and prove to them that you have not broken any rules. Most of Ecrater sellers sell counterfiet good and those who sell the real deal end up getting suspended for madeup reason that not even Ecrater can explain themselves.

I bought Insanity Workout from eCrater and it took OVER a MONTH for me to receive it when it should have been received within 2 weeks. After I bought the item I starting looking at reviews just in case and there were a lot of complaints and trust me it's true! I was freaking out that I wasn't going to get my product. I kept e-mailing the seller and he never responded back. When I got my product, I looked it over and it was FAKE! The DVDs were copied, the Elite Nutrition guide was missing words and misspelled. The DVDs still worked but doesn't play very well.

eBay is way way better than Ecrater, eBay costs a little more but it's worth your time and money! Some eCrater sellers might send your product on time but not all will, and I bet there are rarely sellers who would.

There is no way of contacting the company. There are no numbers, no customer service, or any e-mail address. Made me so mad that people would go so low just to rip people off.

Take anyone's advice who are complaining about this company. Its just not worth worrying about your money, time and product. STAY AWAY FROM ECRATER!!!

Oh yeah, if it's cheap then it's too good to be true! Never buy anything from China, it's most likely to be FAKE!!!

i bought a tablet from on of the sellers on ecrator,biggest mistake ever,the seller stopped all contact and never sent it, i contacted ecrator on this issue and was told that seller had been suspended and was under review,yet i was still able to buy from her store??!!! i was then told it wasent there problem and i was on my own! nice policy i do not reccomend them ever to anyone! how can you suspend a seller yet still allow people to purchase from their store! so unless you want your money stolen i highly reccomend staying away from anything on ecrator!

Can't contact the people at Ecrater they don't reply back and there is no customer service, no phone number. I don't do business with companies who hide. Something must be wrong when companies hide from the public and I found out why. I read the other bad reviews, they are there for a reason...to warn you to stay away. They make their money off of Google pop-ups, but they tell you it is a free selling tool. NOT FREE. You are working using your time and energy to get their Google Pop-ups and ad revenue income to work, and sellers don't sell much. Not worth the time for them to profit off of your hard work and expended time. They have lots of fraudulent sellers as they just want the ad-revenue, they don't care about the public the buyer and sellers. This is such a big scan.

Tried to threaten me through texts!!!!!!!!!

I made a purchase online through this company after over a week my purchase did not arrive so I contacted them to find out where my order was. The email was in broken English and they apologized and said they had been having issues with products not arriving. They said they would send out a new one. After a few days the product arrived just fine. About a week later the first package arrived with no contents inside and appeared to have been cut open. Now they are texting me that I have to pay for item or return it when there was nothing in the envelope. The email was threatening me that the authorities were going to get me and telling me that I was lying! I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in my life! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! It may have been less expensive but completely NOT worth it. HORRIBLE!

I ordered an item from a person who failed to send the item. At first kept in touch with, 'reasons' why it hadn't arrive. Now it's past the 45 days for Paypal dispute he's not answering mail anymore.

As for the company? They do not respond to messages you send them via their web-form.

I will NEVER USE ECRATER AGAIN!
