Was a bit dubious about this transaction, firstly use of "Skrill" payment gateway I'd never heard of (checked it was legit before I used it though!), then the delay after submitting details. But actually after I'd found the confirmation request in my spam folder, confirmed my address and phone number (not sure why they need this?) the Xbox Live code was sent to my email within a few hours and worked fine.
Come across this site via Google offering cheap game codes which are emailed to you within 15 minutes.
I checked a few reviews before making any sort of purchase, however I'm starting to think these are fake reviews and are posted by the owner/s of this site just to entice customers to spend money.
I ordered a Xbox 12 month gold membership and went through the card payment process. The payment screen was a https domain.
I received an email acknowledging my payment. A minute later I received another email from electronic first saying they need to verify my phone number and address. I replied to this email with my details. 30 minutes later I received nothing. So I thought I'd email again in case the first one didn't go through for whatever reason... Another 30 minutes pass and still nothing.
Next I went onto their website and opened an online chat window with a support person called "Angie". I explained the situation and I got the following response
"Separate email was sent for verification, please reply. Thank you."
I'm unsure whether or not this an automated reply. I then replied saying I have replied to the email numerous times....This was the last I heard from Angie :(
Next I contacted them via the "contact" button and guess what happened?! Nothing.
I'm now going to try an get my money back from my card provider.
So a little bit of friendly advice.............don't do it!
I've used this site 3-4 times, it usually delivered the items (3 out of 4 at this moment as I'm writing I'm still waiting for one Xbox card code) but the problem comes with what they promise and they say on the website, and the sad reality that comes later.
Yes, you could save a bit of money, but don't trust on those messages on the site saying things like "instant email delivery" or even if it says they have items "in stock" just don't trust them. You may still receive your items, but if they don't have stock, you may have to wait a few days. (even they confirm you that you will receive your codes within 24 hours, it's just bad marketing, lies...)
So, it works? yes, but with some issues, if you want your codes quickly, just go to another place.
I guess cheap things cost more at the end with all this bad treatment.
Bought a PS+ subscription, system says I will get my code with 10 minutes, 2 hours later nothing (nope not in spam) Online chat "person" can't/won't help, they say they are checking "stock", which is odd for an online code?, they then fob me off with "code-related issues"?, Typical buzzwords from people not knowing anything or caring about their customers.
Awful first experience and most certainly my last!
I was a little wary of using this company as I found some negative reviews dating 2010, which to be fair seemed to have been resolved so I said what to heck, I'll try my luck! And I'm glad I did! I just published the Xbox 12 month subscription which I received quickly and I've activated it on my account too!
ElectronicFirst.com is absolutely legit. I ordered my xbox live code, paid with PayPal and received my code within a couple of hours. So refreshing to buy a code, have it delivered within their advertised timeframe and then for the codes to work as designed. I will definitely use them again. I was recently ripped off by a site called InstaGamePoints.com (AVOID) so had my reservations about this site. My fears were unfounded - I would recommend ElectronicFirst.com to anyone. Enjoy.
After reading some of the reviews i thought i would put my tupence worth i i've used this company 7 times my brother & one of our mates has used it maybe 12 times between them and we have never had a problem with them the longest i had to wait for a code was 1 day this was down to me buying on a Sunday so can';t say a bad word about them.
Having bought a Live code from ElectronicFirst/cheapxboxlivecodes.com before, I decided to use them again to buy another code. But the code never arrived, so I emailed the company. No response. I ended up having to open a PayPal dispute to get any sign of life out of the company, and even then they never actually contacted me directly. Never again - in future I'll be buying points directly from Microsoft or picking up points cards in-store.
I never do these reviews but I feel compelled to after my experience with EF tonight. I've been looking for a digital download copy of Guild Wars 2 for ages (ArenaNet have stopped selling them) and EF were the only site doing the game for a price even close to reasonable. Easily the cheapest online.
Ordered through Paypal (so no sign up nonsense) and after some emails to check on progress with 'Lou', the key came through within minutes. Lou was emailing back as quickly as if speaking on an Instant Messenger as well. First class.
Bought a Sniper Elite v2 code from them. First time buying with them. Had some trouble at first with verification (I think they verify all first time buyers, but no more after.), as they wanted a picture of me holding my license, but I told them I wasn't comfortable with that. So they instead gave me telephone verification. They promise to call within 1 hour and mention that it is usually just 10 mins, but for some reason, they didn't call for 6 hours and instead asked for my phone numbers again. I sent the details about 3 times until finally they just sent the code without calling.
A bit of a hassle with verification and whatnot, but they are a legit company. Code worked fine, albeit a tiny bit blurry.
In short...the first time buyer verification is a real hassle, but they do seem legit. 4/5
