i will never shop at game again after i was lied to buy phone staff over an order of a game that i'd pre ordered and which they had taken the money for.they claimed that they'd sent it 3 times by next day delivery.each day it never came.turned out they never sent it at all.i buy all my games from amazon now.never had a problem since.bye bye game.was a loyal customer since the electronic boutique days
I order their hitman bundle (download) on the weekend special as it was a good deal. I didn't receive the item at all and I was unable to contact their customer support as they don't do weekends at all.
Once I Finally got through to an adviser today, I was told quite simply, there was nothing they can do and refunded me.
I would not recommend buying their weekend deals if they are downloads, as if you have a problem you wont be able to fix it.
Call of Duty Black Ops did not arrive on the release date yesterday. Their customer service is no longer available by telephone, only web chat. Web chat was not available last night. I have just got through to them on web chat this morning and whilst disagreeing with the person on web chat, it appears he cut me off. Very disappointing, will not be using Game again.
I preordered halo 4 £64.99. Game.co.uk took the money early so it would arrive for the release date 6th Nov. today is the 9th and no game.
Lots of others are the same and they say the Royal Mail have lost them all, it was said to be posted on 1st November
ordered the instant gamer points twice. The first time everything was ok then the two times after they messed up. One order took almost two days for the instant download and in the other they sent me a blank email "with the code". emailing their customer support gives you an auto response message of " its going to take 2-4 days to response " although I never even got a reply. Had to spend over an hour in live webchat being constantly disconnected and fobbed off.
Mainly annoyed because there are plenty of places I could have bought this cheaper and it would have actually been instant. I though it would be easier as I have a game account. Needless to say I will never ever use these again and cant believe just how bad their customer service is.

I placed an order on July 31st for a new nintendo 3ds, some games and a mario hard case for my sons birthday. The hard case was pre order due for release on August 1st, so only the next day.
I received most of my order on August 2nd but no hard case. I checked online tracking and the hard case was showing as not shipped. I waited patiently but still no hard case.
Game are now showing the item as in stock and available for immediate dispatch but I still dont have mine?!?!
Emailed on August 24th to find out what was going on only to get a bog standard autoresponse telling my order would be shipped soon. Emailed again on 4th September to get the same auto response and finally for an email back from Game yesterday saying my order was dispatched on August 2nd and that I had taken delivery. WTF?!?! There own website says the item was not dispatched, I have emailed AGAIN only to get the same autoresponse and still nothing. Seriously how hard can it be... I have paid for my item yet a month after release still dont have it. Games tracking service says its not been dispatched but Game are trying to say it has? Someone is seriously having a laugh and Im not happy. No way to contact Game other than what I have tried and sick of the bog standard autoresponse and inept staff that cant look at there own system to see they still havent dispatched my full order
Second time I have used games website to preorder titles to get them on release date. What a con!! Parcels didn't turn up for a week. Tried twittering them all they did was blame the post office for holding up parcels? Phoned 3 times, cost me a bomb to ring them may I add, and just got passed from pillar to post. The staff on the phone were ignorant, arrogant and damn right rude! Some 12 year old pube tried telling me he was head honcho of the call centre? Hmmm lies again!
So I'm still waiting on my one game as they said wait 15 days then report it lost! What? all my mates will be off playing something else by then. Asked for a refund and was just snorted at by this snotty child. So now I'm out of pocket without game and oh yea I lost a days pay too cos I had to take the day off. Word of advice to anyone thinking of shopping at Game or Game.co.uk steer well clear my friends and nip to tesco or sainsburys if you are in town or go to amazon.co.uk or play.com online. As bad as it sounds but I really wish they went down the tubes the other month cos they are nothIng but a bunch of scammers...
GAME used to be great but started awful in 2009 but I manage with them until last year I decided gave up with them because staffs is slow, price is too high for pre-owned (weird price almost like to new copy or even preorder price!!) and again price is way too high and higher. I had problem with their order website because parcel lost and didn't posted me and returned to GAME from Royal Mail and I didn't received 2 preordered games before or on day of released so arrived week later. Parcel lost and games not arrived home week after released that big problems last year this why I decided use shopto.net and amazon.co.uk after all!!! I never and never touch GAME ever again but just trade in games for money that all I care for GAME. :)
Shame GAME used to be great before again.

GAME used to be my refuge when shopping with my girlfriend - In fact she used to call it the crèche - but i can't see how it can survive in the modern world against the onslaught of Amazon etc. The staff are great, the products as good as anywhere, but highstreets/shopping centres are very expensive!
Glasgow st Enoch store
I took in a ps3 slim plus ps3 games and accessories and also 3ds games to sell I got a price for all the games and accessories then he took the ps3 into the back to test after 20 mins he came back out and said he can't buy the ps3 the games and accessories because they smelled of smoke he also claimed there was smoke coming from the ps3 complete lies I tested the ps3 before taking it down to the store.
However he badly wanted the 3ds games because they were sealed I had pleasure saying no if you you don't buy the ps3 then ur not getting the 3ds games he was gutted when I refused him the 3ds games he even asked again to which I said no way
I firmly believe they have damaged my ps3 as it was perfect before I left I am contacting my lawyer to what action I can take
They have lost a very good customer I have warned all friends and family to avoid game I will never step footin any of there shops again.
I've only ever used Game twice and that was once too many. The first experience was fine but I was only buying one product. As for the second experience, I bought a game from a different outlet, got it home and it wouldn't work. I took it back and that's when the unpleasantness started. I was advised that the first problem was that I'd removed the wrapping from the box. I pointed out that it was difficult to play the game with the disc still in the box. Then I was told that I should have read about the game's compatibility with my system. I argued that I had gone through all these matters with the sales assistant who sold me the game, and he said that it was OK. Anyway, after a short while the assistant manager puffed herself up with self importance and said that I could have a refund. I won't be visiting Game again.
I don't want to spend any more time on this, but will give a short explanation as to why I hate GAME with such a passion.
I just purchased a game from them which was priced £5.00 more expensive in their shop than it was on their website. As anyone else with half a braincell would do - I asked for a price match at the counter. The response I got was almost bullying... I had the one guy on the till telling me how he couldn't do that and then he was joined by his boss who went on to patronise me with a handful of lies about how the website and the stores were in no way linked, and then went on to lecture me on how there are no companies out there that price match their own websites. Sure enough, your average Joe may believe this, however I'm an online sales manager and can tell you that is absolute rubbish... It is very good practise for a business that has both branches and a website to treat it's customers fairly. If a customer asks for a discount from a store price as a website price is less, then it should in no way be refused... That would otherwise be classed as bad customer service.
But this was just the start...
I then went to raise the issue with their customer service team via email. I was designated Georgina C. as my customer service member. I explained the situation and received an email back that greatly insulted me. She told me how they aren't able to price match their website as the store members had also said, and went on like the others, lecturing me on online sales.
I responded to this in a slightly 'angrier' state as she had genuinely insulted me. I had two emails follow the first, and each time the same things were said - We can't offer any help and we don't price match.
Then, this afternoon I got another email. This time she told me it was written in their terms and conditions that they do price match, not only with their own website, but also HMV.
Ok... So in a nutshell, I was lied to by 3 members of the GAME company, told their was no way a price match could be offered which is why I went ahead and paid £5.00 more than I should have done, only to be told about 2 weeks later that a price match could have occurred, but as I had already gone ahead and bought the game from them, there was nothing they could do.
I mean really?! Not even a £5.00 voucher as compensation for the abysmal customer service I received? I shouldn't have even paid the £5.00 in the first place...
Let this be a lesson to anyone wanting to buy from GAME. They rip you off in store, lie to your face, con people into believing they are getting a bargain, and when **** does hit the fan, they blame you.
I will never be using GAME again, and I wouldn't advise anyone else to either. If you want to purchase games online cheaply and quickly, go to Play.com.
You guys should be ashamed.
*I would also like to add that they told me over and over again in their emails ; and I quote - 'At GAME we pride ourselves on our professionalism and service and we constantly strive to improve the levels of service we provide to our customers.'
Tell me how that statement is in any way true in this situation? It's a complete mockery. Furthermore, every single email I got back from them took over 1 week to receive. How is that a good level of service, especially when your automated email response to customer services says that we should hear back within 24 hours...
I think like most people i stopped buying games at Game ages ago. Their used games are more expensive then new ones from most other shops, and their new games are often already opened, so how do you know if these are not returns? Stick to other reputable sites that offer games, that are gaurenteed brand new. Game needs to be allowed to die a quick death.

We recently purchased a few computer games at one of their shops (The Mall, Cribbs Causeway). These shops were always so busy so I'm surprised that they are having financial trouble! The main reason for this particular review was that I was particularly impressed with the young man who served us who was able to give us a detailed explanation about the game ratings (turns out there is some confusing duel ratings for some games). His knowledge on the subject surprised me! It turned out that the game we bought for our son's friend (Assassins Creed Revelations, Xbox) was rated as a 15 by one agency and 18 by another (which was absolutely not obvious to us as parents). I would say that in many other shops, they wouldn't have known the difference but clearly this assistant had done his homework! I hope Game stays around - they were always my go-to for my son's computer games :)
I always used to love going into Game. They always had what I wanted and the staff knew their stuff. Of late, however, they've been slipping badly, with poor availability and damaged stock. This was best highlighted when the cancelled ALL Mass Effect pre-orders shortly before release. Even worse, they deposit was refunded only as store credit.
Let me down big time before Christmas when you ring them your put on hold at 10p a minute call rate which is a rip of scam and added £11.00 to my telephone bill. Complained to supposed CEO who did not even bother tp reply personally or from his office instead it was some asst.manager who lied in her reply. NEVER AGAIN will I order anything on line from them as they are just one big scam company
Since the website "update" the site has been plagued with issues. Preorders appearing, then disappearing, orders appearing that you have not placed etc. Most of the time items are out of stock on the website.
Trade in prices and second hand game prices are really disgusting, I would go elsewhere to trade your games in.
I have had a few preorders with GAME not turn up by release day either, very disappointing to say the least. There are many better online retailers available that are more reliable and competitively priced.
there not to bad on the site but in store its just awful there trade in prices are disgusting and barely offer any deals but they rarely even give returns.
if they disc it preownd and opened they wont refund even if scratched an non working order yet when you trade in you games they knock money off as they please with barely a look to see if its just abit of dust.
the cash for game system is so unjust it makes alot of my family angry to go near the stores
