Excellent world-wide hostels web site!
I have used Hostelworld to find a accommodation at least five years ago. It's ranking system of individual hostel is always equivalent to the quality of the hostel! Most staffs I met in hostels are always friendly and helpful. It's always a joyful experience to use the Hostelworld web site.

Honest reviews from real travellers
This is the best site for booking hostels because you get real reviews from real travellers. Hostelworld requires you actually stay at the lodging you are reviewing. This is different than sites like Trip Advisor where anyone can place a reveiw of any site. I have used these reviews and have never been disappointed by this site. It is a model other sites should follow but as far as I know none have. My hats off to hostelworld.

Always a different travel experience
Hostels on Hostelworld are never the same. There are excellent ones and bad ones. Booking on Hostelworld is pretty easy. So is changing of bookings.
Mostly the reviews of a hostel are correct. When there are only a few reviews then they can differ from your own experience.
But you can't make hostelworld responsible for the quality of a hostel. When you pick the cheapest one then it just is not the one with the highest quality.
I myself was always satisfied with hostelworld.

A nice source for choosing and booking accommodation and to get a rich picture of particular hostel/hotel etc. Works really good.

I trust HostelWorld.com
Since past many years of travelling over 30+ countries, I've used the HostelWorld.com site to book hostels which always met my expectations. The bad reviews of a hostel are not deleted so you have a fair chance of picking the right place for you after reading user reviews. Can't go wrong.
I thank HostelWorld team for keeping their site and service transparent.

Quick and easy finding and booking
Easy to find hostels and to sort them on different criterias and see them all on a map. I like it that you only pay 10% immediatlely and the rest when checking in at the hostel.

All I need right in one place
My mum showed me hostel world a couple of years ago. She used to take bookings for a hostel she helped run.
Now that I'm old enough to go travelling I always use hostel world to book my hostels. I trust the reviews and I think it's much more user friendly than hostel bookers /booking or agoda.
I also like that you can make a personalized account and you can show others where you have traveled! :) It makes it feel more special!

You can always get what you expect if booking via Hostelworld.com.
I always check it if visiting the city or town for the first time. You can find a lot of affordable places to stay with comments from tourists all over the world. Sometimes the selection is not big enough for some cities, but they getting more and more places onboard.

decent and quick view of de vacant hostels and hotels
to make bookings i used booking.com and hostelword.com. the different between botth is that hostelworld is more effective in finding hostels. its easy in use and has a great amount of extra information about the facilities.

Useful and clear service.
But I had a (minor) during my last booking: I booked an hostel in China, and I did not recieve the address in Chinese, although I did recieve the address in Chinese for my previous bookings. Maybe the hostel did not communicate its address in Chinese…
During the booking process, we have to fill in our nationality and cell phone number. The website could use the information we gave when we signed up. This would save some time.

I simply think that there is no better way to find a place to stay wherever! It's easy, reliable and practical. You have everything you need on one place and not just info about accommodation buy also about the city you will stay in.

A view from China
Hostelworld is very good per se although once I received a confirmed booking and the hostel itself phoned me to tell me that there had been a mistake - not theirs - and that I could not have my deposit refunded because Hostelworld had already kept it. I had not taken out insurance against cancelling that booking - I had to as I had to find another hostel in the same town for those dates. The Chinese guy at the hostel offered to refund me the money from his own pocket so of course I didn't bother to take him up on that. His kind offer made up for the Hostelworld mistake. And maybe it was the hostel's mistake, anyway. I have made tons of bookings in China through Hostelworld.com and Hostelbookers.com and this is the only time anything has gone wrong - that had anything to do with Hostelworld, that is. Usually the hostels are exactly what they say on the tin. Whether the hostel is good or not usually depends on the other hostellers, who can be noisy, and most hostels in China have paper thin walls. The service in China can also vary, depending on whether or not they have more than one person working in the kitchen/cafe. I have had to wait half an hour for a banana while someone's eggs and bacon was being cooked!!!

Fantastic, easy and reliable
Hostelworld are awesome and and easy to use, so much so that most hostels use them specifically for online bookings, they are reliable, and although there is a $1 fee, this can be avoided if you become a member,
their database of hostels is second to none, and the user reviews are generally fairly reliable on their site.

I had bad experience with 10% deposit - i didnt see, that deposit is non-refundable before I had paid. So when I made a cancellation this sum of money wasn't back.

Hotel was very close to termini station so was easily accessible . It was worth The money spent. The atmosphere was nice,Room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly especially KHAN , who is at front desk. He was friendly and soft spoken .He guided me with the locations in Rome that was very helpful in saving time and money. Would Definitely recommend to my friends . THANKS TO HOSTEL BEAUTY, especially KHAN!!!

Best hostel so far that I've stayed in... The staff was very friendly, especially KHAN. He was very helpful and friendly during the entire stay, and made me feel like home.He guided me with the locations in Rome that was very helpful in saving time and money. Great stay, great hostel, great staff
I had a very good stay at Milingona and the staff is helpfull and feels like family. Loved the breakfast as the room wich is very big and beatiful. I would recommand this place to my friends and thats why I hope you will experince that too. Thank you to all of you at the hostel.

First choice for booking hostel style accommodation throughout China.
Hostelworld have been our lifeline whilst traveling around China during the past 4 years. We have used them to book accommodation from the east coast of China to the very west of the country in Kashgar. We have never had a problem with the booking and have always turned up to our hostels and been expected by the staff. I would definitely recommend Hostelworld to friends and family,

Good service, but they don't solve guest's reservation problems
