Everything seems very good to me except that none of the 3 computer software protections offered with the Platinum package are compatible with Mac OS or Google Chrome, so I am unable to use them.
Seriously, I answered all of your security questions….and it still is not good enough?
I am hearing impaired and you want me to call? Disgusting….I will take my money elsewhere.
I called the customer service to see why there are several charges on my account. they couldn't help me at all. what kind of service is this if u cant help. told me that they need my spouse on the line to speak too b4 they can talk to me. my spouse cant speak to them due to work and their hours of operation is unreliable this sucks when u have one income. all they can tell me is unfortunately they cant help me they need to talk to my spouse still. so unhelpful...
After my purse was stolen on a Saturday, I called the 24/7 help line, and got a message to call back during business hours on Monday. I cancelled cards myself. On Monday, their agent did not know that it was NOT 24/7 help, left me on HOLD while they talked to web support team. This is at the least deceptive advertising. Finally they did give a credit for a few months & one free report (big deal). Today I get a notice that the credit card (that was stolen) is not accepting the monthly charge for IDG. I go online to change info to new number, and the site will not accept my update. This place is painfully inept. As soon as I get my credit- I am done!
BTW- website still says 24/7 HELP!

The alerts should be more specific. It only states 'public record' and the date of the alert. Under the public record information there are several things listed and it is difficult to figure out what has been updated or changed.
I find the quarterly update of credit scores from the three major credit report agencies to be a good value. What I treasure the most is the monitoring service Identity guard provides. In all instances of credit purchases I make I have received prompt notices concerning financial actions made against my SSN. After all the name of the company
is Identity Guard.
Credit score update only once a quarter ??? For the money I pay I should be able to get a current report/score every time I log in. Transunion.com offers a monthly subscription for $14.99. You can get a updated score each time you log in.. I should have stayed with them, but somehow this site had good reviews. Am I missing something??
We signed up, paid the fee, saw where fee was deducted, denied access until speaking with customer service, spoke with customer service for 20 minute interrogation, and still no information availability. What????
This was the first site I tried, then I quit service and went to other sites. No one else has such a broad spectrum of tools and information, which is something I was really looking for. Thanks Identity Guard!
Once I came to a position where I can work on improving my credit standing, Identity Guard provided me with what I needed to accomplish the task. Helpful information regarding filing disputes by Bureau. Real time alerts when any change, or inquiry hit my record. Watched my score change quarterly, would be nice to see it update every month but won’t kill me. Overall I’m satisfied with Identity Guard product.
I had some issues with customer service, I’m hoping it was only isolated to just the agent I spoke to and does not speak to overall level of customer service.
You get one 3 bureau credit report and anything else is extra over the monthly fee .You get a free report yearly so this is a big rip off
Identity Guard is the best online service against identity theft. In addition, it's credit component gives me everything needed to effect credit repair while improving scores at the three major credit reporting agancies. Throw in their email updates, credit and debit card protection, excellent customer service, and you have service at its best. IG has become a daily "must" in my life.
This is just not enough for what you pay. You can get your free score updated every week on that site everyone knows about..."CK". I do like some things about Identity Guard, but I am cancelling and will only return if they change the frequency at which they update.
Although the basic website and content is simple to use, with ease of site navigation, and detailed content, the real value to this service is the personal assistance provided when needed.
After being notified of a credit issue being caused by a fraudulent use of my name and contact information (classic ID theft), I was provided with counsel and advice as to steps that I could take to reverse an adverse affect on my credit scores. Within a very short time, not only were my scores returned to their plus 800 pre ID theft levels, I was able to "breathe a sigh of relief"... Value of service can be defined simply by asking the question; "What is the price of peace of mind?" Thank you Identity Guard, you have found a long term customer in this man.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I heard rave reviews from friends so I decided to sign up. The website is very user friendly and the Customer Service is outstanding, however, I am very disappointed that IDG doesn't offer members the ability to monitor credit reports on a monthly basis. I switched from CreditKeeper.com to IDG and I really miss the fact that I could see an updated credit report each month for $9.99 from all 3 bureaus and not just one. Right now I have to wait 3 months to see an updated credit report for $14.99. IDG provides alot of bells and whistles to help monitor your report but it would be nice if I could get see it each month for a reasonable price. By my calcuations, in order for me to do that now with IDG, I pay $14.99 a month for membership and I would have to pay another $20 a month to get updated monthly scores. $35.00 dollar a month seems excessive. CreditKeeper.com did it for $10 a month. Not quite sure why such a large discrepency in pricing. Maybe that's why CreditKeeper.com is no longer active...SMH. Either way, I still think IDG should offer a membership that includes monthly credit report updates for a decent price. Say $19 to $25 bucks monthly. Would definitely change my review from a 3 star to a 5 star! I worked really hard to get my score from a 500 to a 750+ and monthly monitoring helped get it there for me.

UPDATED REVIEW: Thanks to Andy from the IDG team. I read your feed back and immediately upgraded to the Platinum membership. $19/monthly is pretty good! Slightly disappointed that the monthly scores will be calculations based on algorithms used by IDG but I trust they will fall within an acceptable range. For that, I change my review to a 4 star! Thanks again Andy!
Identity Gaurd is the best at what they do. I would never trust another like them because their is no other system out their that can compete with Identity Gaurd. I will pay as much per month to maintain my service with them.
But cheaper than LifeLock. I've been using IDG for a while. I also monitor directly with the 3 major bureaus which I began several months after becoming an IDG member.
Had difficulty setting the account up. Okay it's Identity Guard, I get that.
Things I learned as a premium account holder:
IDG 3 bureau alerts lag behind bureaus by more than a day some time several days.
Support staff are merely script reading "Credit Education Specialists".
IDG rates a member significantly below the bureaus. I am rated with a score as "very good" by TransUnion and IDG score rates much lower and as "fair". Another bureau which reports as "good" IDG reports as "weak" again much lower score. I've yet to receive a favorable reply as to how that can be other than IDG uses different algorithms than the bureaus.
Why their own algorithms, what does that matter since IDG is not a Bureau?
Why should they report anything other than monitoring and delivering credit bureau data as it comes form the bureaus to IDG members?
Creditors use credit bureaus directly they do not use IDG. A good thing, as IDG provides bleaker information. There are numerous other examples I can offer.
IDG does offer a free monthly report. Any more frequency, each additional report is fee based.
With a bureau, a simple change can impact one's score on any given day. i.e., new account, CC, payoff, limit increase, inquiry etc etc. With IDG you receive an alert, however you will not know the impact there may be to your score without waiting for as much as a month or pay a fee to receive an updated report.
I'd recommend if you want an accurate view of your credit interact directly with the bureaus. I will cost a bit more than IDG but you be better for if. All so allied personal credit monitoring service use there own "algorithms" as well as do the bureaus, the bureaus more closely line up. One call also use the bureaus to monitor the others, which is handy for cross-reference. One can also get a credit report update at anytime w/o an additional fee.
In my experience & opinion, IDG offers a fair service for the newbie but weak compared to the bureaus direct. No I do not work for a bureau. I have had to work very hard to get bad and erroneous information removed my reports to get my scores at the appropriate levels.
The question is what value does IDG truly offer to the savvy? Happy monitoring!
Initially I was pleased with the report once it was received. It was a bit of a hurdle to get verification at first but that makes sense considering the company is supporting identity theft. The periodic credit alerts I've received have also been a good sign that the company is monitoring my credit and identity. The one complaint I do have is my actual credit score has not been updated in over 6 months. Not only that but when I go to credit tab on my account there’s a link to a paid site to get an updated score. This is a little aggravating that they would solicit a third party company for a service I believe should be provided. I'm not asking for a monthly update but a quarterly update would be nice. Considering shopping around to see what else is out there for the money I'm spending. Overall I'm going with middle of the road at 3 out of 5 stars because I have limited knowledge of other companies and what they provide. However, it would be 4 out of 5 if the periodicity of credit score updates was higher or at least quarterly.
Seduced by the advertised "FREE" credit report -- and with no intention of using Identity Guard's services beyond that -- I gave Identity Guard my info, including, as requested, my credit card number. When I phoned to cancel my membership two days after joining, I was informed by Identity Guard's customer service rep that the company would retain my credit card info INDEFINITELY. When asked why, she would only say that it was their "regulatory policy." This is not an acceptable answer. I'm now finding complaints on other consumer sites accusing Identity Guard of charging for services not rendered or requested. With that in mind, I've canceled my credit card. I wouldn't trust this company further than I could spit.
UPDATE in response to Identity Guard's comment:
Thank you, Andy, but that's an evasive response.
I made no purchases before canceling my membership, and merely SAYING that it's "good practice" to retain my credit card info doesn't make it so.
I can not comment on the service mainly because I still haven't received it. After many days now, when I log-in, all I see is "Pending". It did say free trial, so I don't understand what the problem is.
have had this service for about 2 or 3 year now and have always had the report of an activity the day it happened is a very very good service would recommend it to everyone
I chose Identity Guard because they are one of the top-rated identity theft protection companies - even better than that company that's always on TV! So far I am very pleased. I have told several people about this company.
I love this, not only is my credit score current, but im informed and advised of methods to assist with improving my score. This is essential as it has enabled me with the tools to increase my score by 200 points. I now believe a credit score of 750 or 800 is plausible.
If most of what you want to do is view your report, then this tool/service is EXACTLY what you want! Here are my concerns with this system:
1) the analysis functionality is very lacking. It doesn't really analyze or permit you to project how certain conditions/actions can positively or negatively impact your scores which is precisely why you would want to analyze. The application is very lacking & I believe it could & should be much better.
2) I did not realize the reports were updated quarterly (and not monthly). I'm feeling a little duped because I believe I was sold on a "monthly" plan when I signed up over a year ago--nevertheless I just upgraded so we'll see.
3). Users do not have the ability to submit or even prepare a dispute from this app which is insane to me. We should be able to, at a minimum, prepare a dispute letter for a single item addressed to the appropriate bureau.
Lacking these 3 key functions are the reason why I'm still searching for a better solution. Identity Guard guards (does not provide functionality to manage) your credit and that's about it. Excellent information is provided, but then "what next?"
I've been a member for a couple of weeks now. So far its been a positive experience.
My biggest complaint is the lack of being able to update the credit report on a more regular basis. My understanding is its a quarterly basis, where as I was under the impression it was done monthly. Having the ability to do a manual update, even if it was limited to a number of times per month/quarter would be huge. Another key feature that would be nice to have is the ability to have the analyzer remove and/or ignore items. (I.e... if this collection was removed, your credit score would go + x points). I am in the process of clearing off items from my reports, and having that guidance as far as what should take priority would help alot of people and put you above the competition.
Almost immediately, the information provided by Identity Guard is extensive which is wonderful but I can obtain that myself. I would like to have access to "knowledgeable" representatives that can provide me with instructions on how to ensure incorrect data is removed from all sources. I went through a divorce 7 years ago and I am shocked at how much inaccurate data is still associated with my name (no fault of identity guard whatsoever). I need assistance or guidance in order to properly remove all errors. Also, I registered a CC with Identity Guard and someone in another state began making fraudulent charges so I had to cancel CC and obtain a new one. Unfortunately, I have received zero alerts/notifications from Identity Guard re: the fraudulent charges or even cancellation.
OK, you know how it is when you don't want to hear bad news! i never responded to my first alert message..the second time, I figured I'd better follow up. The information provided was that my account at Care Credit was cancelled by the company because I didn't use it. I had previously been informed by Care Credit that this was the case. No harmful statements in the report, I was so surprised that Zone alarm knew about this and told me about it. Feels like Big Daddy is looking out for me. Thanks, Zone Alarm.
I'm generally satisfied with Identity Guard's protection and services except for one area. None of the computer protection services, ID Vault, Privacy Protect, and Zone Alarm work for me because I use Mac computers. The system requirements for these services list only Windows operating systems. Macs have been around for a long time and are used by probably millions of people. I'm paying for services I cannot access. Why doesn't Identity Guard support Apple Macintosh operating systems?
Overall, helpful to manage our credit score and credit report. I would like it if it updated more often than every 3 months.
Identity Guard® is NOT a comprehensive identity theft protection and credit monitoring service... After receiving a report my personal information compromised through computer theft... I did my own credit pulls and found Identity Guard® was missing 70% of items being reported to the credit reporting bureaus, including persons impersonating me and applying for credit... Additionally, the reported credit score they are reporting to you from their web site is grossly inaccurate as well as my FICA scores were on average 30 to 50 points lower then reported by Identity Guard®... Save yourself the money and keep shopping.
I have only been using this site for literally 24 hours but I can say that I am VERY impressed with the layout as well as information. I love that the moment I log in, I am able to see all three of my credit scores without having to click on several links to find them. I am currently using the free-trial, which I think it is absolutely amazing that I am given 30 days free to try out the site, but I do intend to keep my account after the 30 day free-trial expires. All in all, great site. And thanks for your help in maintaining my protection.
I've been using IdentityGuard it seems forever, originally signed up as part of a Wachovia account. I've got myself and both of my children enrolled, and it gives me a true sense of knowing what is going on with my credit situation. Instant alerts for every change in your credit file, from an inquiry to a new account. I was able to head off one of my dad's accounts appearing in my credit file which would have had a negative effect on my application for a car loan.
Great company, excellent service, would recommend to anyone.
