MACY'S CREDIT CARD LIMITS-THEIR REDUCTIONS IN CARD LIMITS IS RIDICULOUS!

On 4/18/14 I went to Macy's to purchase a blazer, shirt, tie, and slacks. My Macy's card was rejected so I called the Macy's customer service number. I found out that Macy's had REDUCED my credit limit to only $100.00. The purchase total was $103.00. I told Macy's customer service online that a $100 limit was absurd and they transferred me to someone to raise my credit limit. I explained that I have a $20,000.00 credit limit on other cards and they are punishing me for NOT using Macy's cards--yet Macy's keeps mailing me coupons to use with their Macy's card! I only gave the man my financial Information (not my spouse's) he said they were going to cancel my Macy's card. I have had cards for 25 years--since it was Foleys. I have a credit score of over 800! I am insulted that they are canceling a card with a limit of only $100.00. The way they award card use vs purchases is a disgrace.

DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM THESE CROOKS.....

Purchasing on macys.com simply no words.. I ordered a dress and sweater on the 27th of Feb. Sweater received the following week. No dress. I waited for a few weeks, in case it was on a separate order. On the 14th of March and they couldn't find my order when they did they argued that the dress was delivered. Finally after much arguing they saw that it wasn't and of course was now out of stock, so 'why didn't you advise me' my question, I guess it is not their policy to inform their customers if products are out of stock or simply forgotten. I asked for a refund, I was told the refund would take 10 - 15 business days. Lets think about this people, I have to wait another 2 weeks for their mistake? Today the 11th of April still no refund. After being bounced around from one person to the next, after 45 minutes spoke with a supervisor and:
1) The refund was requested but not sent
2) I have to wait another 10 to 15 business days to get my refund back
3) Am I due anything else for the shipping that I didn't use - She doesn't know
3) Am I due anything for the duties & taxes that were calculated on that item - She doesn't know
Is the economy that bad that Macy's is hard up for $20 bucks?

Take your business elsewhere

I will not be shopping at Macy's again. I shop at the Willow Grove Mall in Willow Grove PA and I have had better service at the local fast food chain. They should be embarassed as should the store manager who said he would correct the problem and the very next day a similar experience happened. He never followed through on what he said he was going to do and then he did not return my call after I made the effort to go face to face to see him. I was treated like royalty at Nordstroms so they received my business instead.

Can not place the order

I called 4 times. Operator can not place an order. This is worst service in my life. I spent 2 hours on my phone with them and still did not place the order!

Poor manufacturing and customer service

I have been a loyal customer of Macy's until a recent disaster with a furniture purchase. We ordered a three piece sectional on November 3rd and chose a stock color so we would have it by thanksgiving. We were not notified until after we purchased the sofa that it was on back order until January. We had to cancel our thanksgiving dinner and Christmas party since we had no couch. When the pieces were finally delivered in January, 2 out of the 3 were damaged. Macy's offered us an even exchange but explained it wouldn't be in until March. They left the damaged sofa at our home. The replacement pieces arrived but they were even more damaged than the first set. They took the original damaged pieces back and left the new damaged pieces with us. One is still wrapped in packaging sitting in our garage. I have spent numerous hours on the phone with customer service and visited the store but they have offered us nothing! We were told to wait until April when they could do another exchange. I demanded a full refund and asked them to come pick up the items but the earliest they can come is two weeks. I have to wait an additional week after that before my refund will be processed. In the meantime I have been over 4 months with no sofa and I can't even get a replacement until they take the broken one and give me my money back. Macy's has shown they do not care about their customers and have no issue selling damaged pieces. I'm extremely disappointed and intend on closing my macys card once my refund is processed. I will not do business with a company that does not stand behind their customers.

Great customer service at Macys!

I was looking for a certain Michael Kors purse at the Macys at the Ridgedale mall in Minnetonka. I showed the sales associate a picture of the purse I was looking for. She then found out that her store didn't have it, but called another store for me and found the purse! She was very helpful and kind :)

MACY'S SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF ITSELF

TO MACY'S

We filed this complaint any organization and bureau possible:

"We purchased a winter coat at the end of December 2011, after Christmas, in their Christmas Sale, from Macys. original price for around/over $2000, and we purchased it for $700. Winter was almost 2-3 months after that, January, February and some of March. in 2012 Winter was very mild. however, after the 2 month, the coat got worn off, the sleeves and the button loops got old and worn off within those 2-3 months. Then because the one we bought was the last in that size, we thought it was better to wait till next year for the new ones come out. We also had to leave the country at that time, couldn't deal with it. And when we came back in October we went to Macys. Talked to the manager in that section where they sell the coats. He told us they don't have the same coats, but he can get our coat tailored FREE of charge. However, we were still hopeful that we could contact the manufacturer company (the tag had the name "Kathy Irland" on the coat) directly and have our coat replaced, because there is no way for a coat which worts $2000, even though we bought it for $700 which is still a lot of money, to be worn off within 3 months to the point that we couldn't wear it at all after that, because the button loops were completely ripped off and the sleeves looked so ugly. if we had it tailored at that moment, then the manufacturer wouldn't exchange it. And Macys said that they cannot exchange it, but have their tailor repair it (which would also not be a good option, because the sleeves would be left too short after that). We went home and googled Kathy Ireland, tried to email them. No one got back to us till December. Then After the company received our email, Macy's called (most likely company contacted Macys and asked them to solve our problem) and asked us to come down to MAcys and bring our coat. they said they will help us with our problem. We went to the section called TheFurVault, the manager was expecting us. He had us choose a coat we liked, because they didn't have the identical model, and we did find one coat we liked, but then they didn't have the size, he said he needs to order it. Then a month later (which is now 2013) we went back after the right size arrived, but then the manager said that he cannot exchange this coat with the one we already have, he has to charge for this new coat. Of course, we didn't accept that, we were expecting either the manufacturer company or MAcy's to take responsibility and have this coat replaced with the identical one or maybe another with the same value and same quality. Unfortunately, we had to refuse this manager's offer after he wasted our time with this nonsense and false information. Now it was 2013 and we decided contact Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. We did. We had correspondences for next few months back and forth. Then as the result of this, the manufacturer company told them they are willing to replace our coat with a new one but they need to know the color and the size. Then we emailed BBB the size and the color of our coat along the actual photos. Then the company never got back to us, but BBB also closed the case stating that there was nothing else they could do after that point but only put a red flag on the public report for this manufacturer. Since then we have been trying to reach out to the manufacturer company directly, emailed BBB few more times, but never got a response after we sent them the photos, color and size information. All this time, they wasted our time, we couldn't use the coat at all, had to purchase another coat from somewhere else for that winter (2012-2013). And finally last week, we decided to go back to Macy's and seek for their help. But the manager at The FurVault didn't seem helpful. She said that she doesn't know she the original story started really, what if we wore this coat all this time since December 2011, now it is 2014, she cannot contact the manufacturer directly, she cannot give us any other contact info for us to contact the manufacturer, she can only have our coat tailored but she will have to charge for it, etc. Basically she said Macy's won't take any responsibility or any action regarding this matter.
Now, we are still seeking for our issue to be resolved. It is not a $50 coat. Right now Macy's actually still have the same line in their store, the actual ones, same color, same model, and they have the price tags on them for almost $3,000. With the sale going on at the store, they still come down to $600-$700 which is still a lot of money for us to tolerate what has been going on and not to be able to wear the coat more than first 3 months of 2012.
The only detail we realized is that this time these coats do not have the name tag of the manufacturer. Even though they didn't seem like willing to expose the truth, it seemed like these coats might actually be MAcy's own product. I asked the manager directly if these coats actually being manufactured by Macy's itself, and she (with attitude of hiding something) said "Maybe, it is possible", as if she had no idea about who is the actual manufacturer for the products she said she has been selling for years in their store, and this woman is one of the managers in that fur department.
Now we don't know what to do and we are seeking for some professional help.

Please, if you can help with anyways, we will really appreciate it, but even if you cannot, please at least suggest us what to do, or if there is any other department we should be talking to, please let us know instead of not responding at all. We just don't want either the actual manufacturer (whoever it is) or Macy's get away with this fraud. Macy's has a lot of bad reputation, and now that there is a solid reason for them to have all those negative bad public reputation, and i believe they have to pay for this. So maybe if enough people have this company pay for their irresponsibility and arrogance, MAcy's might realize that there must be some changes to be made.

Great store, horrible website.

I love going to the actual Macy's store, I always find good deals. That being said, I think Macy's has one of the worst websites out there. They show products that are out of stock, the site is overpriced and the shipping costs are ridiculous. Macy's will only get my B&M business and will never receive my online business.

I was really surprised to see all of these terrible reviews for Macy's! Sure, they're not the most efficient company to order from, but the product range is great and worth the wait, I think.

Worst Delivery Svc EVER & Don't care about customers

Macy's delivery service is the worst ever, and they do not care about their customers at ALL. I needed a new bed to recover from major surgery and made the mistake of buying it from Macy's instead of an "impersonal" online competitor because I had more confidence in the delivery-service part of the deal. Huge mistake! They say they "offer" a 2-hr delivery window but instead what they require is for the customer to be available all day long, to wait for 2-hr time window to be dictated to them via automated message 3 days in-advance (and if the customer happens to have a scheduling conflict with that time-window, the only option is to go back into the queue waiting for that process to repeat itself). There is NO attempt to actually find out from the customer when is the most convenient timeframe for them to receive delivery (not even am vs. pm). When my delivery (that I had already had to wait 11 days for, in order to meet THEIR delivery terms) was understandably delayed due to a winter storm, the rep I initially spoke to couldn't care less that I needed this item within the next 6 days (either after 4pm or anytime on Sat) for serious medical reasons, all she could do was read her script and tell me the "next available" delivery date. Then when I emailed and said I was going to cancel my order if it wasn't delivered when I needed it to be, I received an email response saying it would be delivered 2 days before my surgery after 4pm, and it didn't show up, but the customer service number was "closed." When I emailed them saying please please please get it there the next day, I seriously NEED it, they sent one of their "canned" responses saying I had been re-scheduled for a new delivery date 5 days out (days after I was due to be home from surgery with no BED). I realized I would have been much better off ordering a bed from Overstocked.com or any number of other "impersonal" online competitors (with better prices). I cancelled my order with Macy's and wound up getting a better bed for a better price from a local franchise store (Sleepy's) who delivered it to me the same day (the night before my surgery) and it came with a free mattress pad and pillows. I am planning to buy a new King size bed and bedroom set in the near future, and I can assure you I will be buying it from Karen at Sleepy's in Gaithersburg, MD and NOT from Macy's. How many items do you think they sell/deliver at Macy's that are actually needed by the customer for serious medical reasons? And after they couldn't find a way to get it to me for 3 weeks according to their "system," and then had to delay the order for understandable reasons, they couldn't make ANY exception or special accommodation for a customer in serious NEED of the delivery, for health reasons? SERIOUSLY, Macy's? Shame on you. I will never shop at Macy's again or watch your stupid Thanksgiving parade on TV ever again. I hope Macy's goes out-of-business along with all the other department stores who got so big for their britches that they can't keep up with either their online OR local smaller competitors, and they have forgotten that their business revolves around the customer and not the other way around, and no longer "care" about their customers. I will never forget the unnecessary additional stress and worry over a stupid furniture delivery that Macy's caused me the day before major surgery, and how it made me feel that they just really blatantly didn't care if I didn't have a bed to lay down in afterwards. I am so glad I cancelled the order, and found Sleepy's instead. Macy's doesn't deserve my business.

Macy's Lies!

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE! THEY LIE TO YOU, TAKE YOUR MONEY, AND A WEEK LATER YOU GET A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THAT THEY NO LONGER HAVE YOUR ITEM THAT YOU ALREADY PURCHASED! I exchanged a pair of Michael Kors boots, I RECEIVED AS A PRESENT FROM MY BOYFRIEND, for the same exact pair i already had, to get the wide calf version (my other pair fit me, i just preferred the wider calf) and i now lost them forever. IF IT STATES THAT THEY HAVE THEM AVAILABLE THEY DONT SO SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND DONT EVEN BOTHER ORDERING THEM ONLINE. THEY WILL SAY THEY HAVE IT IN STOCK, TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN SEND YOU AN "IM SORRY" LETTER A WEEK LATER! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN MACYS ONLINE SERVICES AND AM REPORTING THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUERO IMMEDIATELY! when i called Macys all they said was "sorry.. theres nothing we can do..." they were nice but if they had to send those letters to people they should be ordering more from the manufacturer because IT WAS AN ERROR THAT WAS THEIR FAULT! SO THEY NEED TO MAKE GOOD FOR THEIR MISTAKES EVEN IF IT MEANS ORDERING ANOTHER SHIPMENT FROM THE COMPANY!

Macy’s Furniture customer service is terrible

There is nice furniture in Macy’s Furniture, however the quality not that good. But delivery is complete disaster. The first time they didn't come up on delivery day at all and we have to reschedule and wait more. Then they come they made the huge mess with dirty overshoes, then they dropped our new dinning table and moreover tried to hide the crack was made. Now have to wait 2 more months for replacement.

Can't manage their stock effectively

I ordered twice from macys.com and both times my orders were canceled by macys as they didn't have the products in stock. I completely dissatisfied with their service. Why do you want to advertise and sell products that you don't have? I am planning to visit my relatives in europe and wanted to buy some gifts for them before the trip, and now i am on short run.

I'M A GREAT SHOPPER AND THIS IS A GREAT STORE !!!

I often tell people that shopping is a competitive sport in my family That's why we LOVE MACY'S. And we have for generations. I get wonderful stuff - exactly what I want at the price I want to get it at. The discounts are fantastic !!! With the coupons I get on top of the sales prices, sometimes even I am amazed. I wanted something in blue to wear on a New Year's Eve and I found the perfect top for a long skirt which was embellished with just the right touch of black sequins, very tasteful, for about $25 - with all the reductions, and I looked great !! I could go on - but follow in my footsteps - go for the sales and use the coupons. You can't go wrong. And I love that they're so shopper friendly and returns as so easy, even if you lose the receipt. Especially if you have a Macy's card. Go for it !! Brooklyn Gal

What is happening at Macys????

I have been frustrated with Macy's for the past couple of years as they offer so many sales but not on the products I want to buy. And now it just got worse. I was in Lenox and they said that the Extra 15% of clearance is not only good for Macy's private brands and no longer on Tommy or Ralph. Why the change? I might as well just shop the outlet malls now!!!!

It was actually good!

I live in Denmark, Aarhus and thought this company was very bad as I've read. But I tried it out and i figured out it was pretty well. Except the prices are high, but you can trust the company. It took 10 days plus/minus.... They said i should que that time. It was alright - since I just knew I would get my order.

I recommend this to another time! I don't know how it works in other countries but in Denmark it worked fine. I didn't had to pay any taxes. Since it's border free you only have to pay at the end. about 20€ for sending and about 40€ for the taxes. They promised there would not be added any taxes. I didn't trust them in the start, sorry, but now I can trust the company! So don't feel uncomfortable about this company - my opinion..
