Avoid this company.Would not connect. Web has numerous comments aiong same line on this company's SIM card. When contacted they gave the same excuse as others have received when complained...i.e there is the occasional faulty one, and they offer to replace. The one that did arrive, took for ever, and I was due to depart on my trip, a replacement was of no use. The fact that they are still selling this faulty product despite all the complaints over a number of years suggests a less than reputable business. Demanded refund... they then offered more excuses. Luckily I had paid via Paypal. I lodged a claim through Paypal and was successful receiving a full refund.
I purchased an International Prepaid Data Sim card. I am not able to get a connection. Initially I got a response from their support department claiming I was at fault and not setting up the card correctly. They then proceeded to ignore me other than sending me automated failed connection emails. I have asked for a refund and raised a dispute with Paypal but they are refusing the refund. I am clearly not the only person who has been conned by this company
I joined Mobility to use their SIM card. I paid for everything, but did not have a good feeling about it. I searched the internet and found negative reviews. I immediately wrote to Mobility requesting a full refund. I was informed that it takes 30 days to receive a refund. Well over 30 days has gone by and I have yet to hear anything. Luckily, I placed the charge on my credit card and it is being disputed. I do not recommend this company for the way they deal with their customers. Empty promises.
Horror began with purchase and shipping. After purchase, company missed a Friday afternoon UPS shipping deadline and equipment arrived within 24 hours of my departure. Everything was working nicely on the first few connections in Germany. However, when I tried to connect from my hotel in Prague, I was unable to do so. I thought it was a bad connection, so I tried searching for other providers. Access was denied and I was forced to purchase internet service through the hotel. I was unable to connect for the remainder of my trip. After arriving home, I got phone and email messages telling me I had massive usage and I needed to replenish my account to the tune of almost $300. I contested the amount, but was told that, after they checked with T-Mobile in the Czech Republic, the usage had been verified. Hotel and T-Mobile verified my version when I made inquiries. I was lucky as I had used PayPal and they couldn't get to my money without authorization. So, stay away from Mobility Pass. If you do business with them, use paypal so they can't just deduct money from an account or charge you for services they don't render.
Mr. Hinton is exactly right, money (in crazy increments, by the way, min $50) is gone after some time. Congrats, MobilityPass, doing good !
I tried the MobilityPass broadband modem in the Summer of 2009 while on vacation in Europe. I was able to get only two Internet connections and afterwards my connection requests were denied. Several weeks later I found that $424 had been withdrawn by MobilityPass from my bank account, without my permission and without even an online invoice. $50 of this was applied to my account deposit, even though my deposit was still above the minimum.
When attempting to close my account with MobilityPass they said that they do not refund the deposits, in fact after one year they just pocket the money left unused by the customer.
I was forced to find other ways to get online while on vacation and found that 50% of the hotels I stayed in had free wifi. There were also commercial hotspots everywhere that charged 8 Euro for 50 minutes. That works out to 1/50th of what MobilityPass charged me per minute. A person can make nearly free phone calls using VOIP on his laptop, or else buy a
prepaid sim card. You can even buy a good basic mobile phone for less than 15 Euro.
So I don't recommend using MobilityPass, they are much, much too expensive.
I recently found this description of a Mobiltypass customer's woes.
It describes much better than I can of all the things that don't work. Please take a look at:http://journal.goingslowly.com/2010/08/mobilitypass-global-internet-cellular-service.html
