Ordered 6 games (2 of which were pre-orders) + ps vita more than two weeks ago. Everything was shown "in stock" or "pre-order" and guaranteed shipping within a week. A week after the pre-orders release date the status was still shown "preparing order." Asked them a few times and very vague responses on what happened. Then I went ahead and just told them to cancel whatever did not arrive yet and send out the rest. Then I found that over $220 was refunded, and it turned out that 5 out of the 6 games that were supposed to be "in stock" were not! They somehow couldn't get their hands on recently released ps vita games after 2 weeks, and they still claimed they were in-stock and can be shipped within 24 hours for some of them. Do NOT buy from playasia unless you do not care when you'll ever get your items. This is the 2nd time it happened too, last time it took them way too long and I had to cancel because they never got the items in the order. I now have found alternatives such as Nin Nin Games and Ami Ami Hobby Shops.
I placed an order over a week ago for an in stock item that the website claims ships within 24 hours. I paid through PayPal and two days later I received an email from Play-Asia asking me to send the a copy of the front and back of the credit card I used and my drivers license for verification... But I paid with PayPal NOT a credit card. I replied to the email and reminded them of this. Two days later I received a phone call from Play-Asia asking to verify that I placed the order, which I did. Fast forward a week and my order still has not shipped! They have my money, verifications, and will not reply to my emails! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
I already paid, and the status of the order is saying: Paid by Paypal.
So, the product is paid, but no code was sent.
The product is digital, so no excuses for a large delay. It should be instantly or, at least, in a few minutes.
An email was waiting for a reply from the customer support, but.. by the reviews here, I dont expect to receive any.
The price for their digital products drops, but they cant deliver.
I've never had any issues with this company, I've ordered around 6 items. 4 of them took a little longer than I expected, but nothing too ridiculous. They might not have the best customer service and they might be a little slow, but their selection is top notch and I've never regretted a purchase from them.
I live in Afghanistan, usually online stores don't ship items to Afghanistan for stupid reasons, I found Play-Asia have free worldwide shipping service so I ordered a Memory Card and received it with a $5 coupon code for my next order.
I ordered quite a lot from Play Asia over the years, in total there are quite slow ( even it says available in 5 days it takes longer until they finally ship out )
Another problem is I paid a few times customfees even it was just a small order of 60$ ( even we have a quite high limited of 200$ value in my country ) - dont know what they do or write down on their invoices, but it was just the first bad experiences I had with them.
Later packages dissappeared ( had to file a claim a paypal ) or they refunded me due their " so cheap weekly specials" wherent suddenly available anymore.
Well - not so great, I buy somewhere else now.
I've been a customer of Play-Asia for many years now, and until recently would have had nothing but good things to say about them. My last two orders though, have experienced problems, and I am getting very tired of dealing with their customer support.
Recently I bought some PSN prepaid network codes from them. In the past the digital items have always been supplied with seconds of the order being completed, but not anymore. On two separate occasions now, the digital items were said to have been in stock, but having completed the order no codes were issued. When asked about the issue, customer service told me the items were not in stock and the codes would be issued in 5-15 days. If I had wanted to wait that long, I would not have bought the digital items and would have instead had them send a card to me via the mail. Furthermore, I probably would have purchased them elsewhere.
To add insult to injury, they still have not changed the product status of said items, and while they continue to insist they are not in stock, their website lists them as 24 hours availability. I doubt I will be buying much from them again in the future. Their customer service while prompt, has been mostly cold and unable to grasp the frustrations I currently have with their company.
A very disappointing end to a very long relationship.

Lately things ordered from playasia tend to "disappear" in the mail. Strangely , it often happens with unregistered packages; the ones the PO cannot track and are uninsured by the PO. However other unregistered parcels put into circulation by companies seem to have no problem showing up at your doorstep. Which leads me to believe that these parcels are never sent out in the first place. Their customer service reps seem to recycle the same excuses over and over again like a broken record. In fact I've had the exact same responses given to me that are found in previous complaints posted on this site. So I can verify with 100% that the customers whom have had complaints about this company have provided reliable testimony regarding the matter. I believe their may have been a change in management/employees sometime in early 2013/2012. This is probably the root of the decline in reliable customer service.

I paid for the item on 3rd July via Paypal. Around late July I began to worry about not having received my item. Since then I have e-mailed there customers services 7 times between 29/07/13 - 10/8/13. In my first e-mail I was politely asked to wait another week, however still no games. I feel that Play-asia plan to be as useless as possible until I go away. On a couple of occasions my frantic e-mails were flat out ignored. The representatives are very patronizing and lazy, despite telling them that I have already checked my Post office they have ask me to do this in a few different e-mails. They then asked for my address even though it was the same as my billing - more time wasting, only to tell my 2 days later to wait a further two weeks. After pleading for my refund in multiple e-mails I decided to do it the ugly way - The Resolution Centre/ Buyer Protection. I fear that my item was either lost in post, or never even dispatched, regardless, I am fed up waiting and worrying and want my refund.

Prices are good enough, plus the free shipping above 25$ is a nice plus. It takes time for the product to arrive, but except for that - a reliable site.
Bought 2 games from Play Asia, so far it's been 3.5 weeks since the order was placed and it's yet to be despatched to Australia. NO idea if it will actually turn up. Customer service do NOT respond to emails. Very poor service, better off going elsewhere (and yes this is a genuine review not a competitor bagging them). Plenty of better gaming shops online who will respond and actually send the item. Won't be buying from them again.
I will never buy from this shop again. I actually had no better option at the moment, and now I really regret it. Ordered a digital psn card which is overpriced by 11$ (which is twice as much as it is usually), got confirmation and all fast enough, but that's all. No code. Still delivering. It's already past their 24 hours delivery promise, and it is a DIGITAL delivery. How long does it take to send an email with a code? Or update it right in my account? In other places it is a matter of minutes. In play-asia, well... I have yet to see if I'll ever get it...
"Play asia was a decent store and reliable in 2008, but now am very disappointed with their offer of service, in one month i got two packages returned in a row without them notifying me that it was returned. And the reason was because "my address is not complete" i have been ordering with this address for the last 5 years and just when i chose the cheaper shipment my address becomes invisible. Their solution was to upgrade to a more expensive shipping company if i want the item or refund me. Plus the time wasted, i waited 1 months for 2 packages. Am never going to buy from them again."
Play-Asia is a decent enough service when your orders arrive and you don't need to use their customer service system, if you're unfortunate enough to have an order or 2 lost in the post, your experience will turn from satisfactory to just plain dreadful.
Sure enough, I had 2 orders over a period of time that either weren't sent or were lost in the post. After getting the run around in regards to refunding I decided to open a dispute and got my money back via Paypal for the lost orders in question and continued to use the website as usual chalking it up as a bad experience.
One day, I received a notice from the customer service years later telling me I had a dispute open which was completely untrue and that they would no longer serve me, I explained my situation and needless to say the level of customer service received border lined on dreadful.
We all have had items lost in the post in our lifetime, especially if we're buying from abroad and I think everyone here could understand that, needless to say one day I placed an order and not long afterwards it said 'refund pending'. Not only was this company refusing business because they refused to accept something was lost in the post, they made me go through the effort of having to use Paypal to refund after making a dispute.
Never have I seen a level of customer service so dire, I quite literally shake my head at the awfulness of the service provided, for them to turn away a long time customer who has had 2 items lost in the post is just plain ridiculous and disgusting.
Play-Asia need to get better customer service reps and understand that Items do get lost in the post. The postal system isn't perfect, blaming your customers and refusing to serve them just shows how poor of a company this is. I rate this company 2 out of 10.
I would like to conclude that treating your customers better, and with respect will earn you a better name for yourself, blaming your customers for your company's own short comings will accomplish nothing.
I've been buying from Play-asia for years, not once have I had a problem with this site. I've had more orders than I can count and not one of them has been less than satisfying. Never had an unpleasant response e-mail as others on this site have suggested.. even after asking them a few times about the status of a back order they have been prompt and polite. I usually get the best shipping method with insurance when ordering packages and if there's a problem after that it's because of customs, not the company.
I should have learned the first time buying from these guys. Everything is fine except for the shipping. They shipped it the next day of my order and responded to my email quick as well but the shipping itself is just unacceptable. It takes 3+ weeks and thats just ridiculous. I would pay a little more if another site offers the same game. Avoid these guys at all costs.
I recently made a purchase with play-asia.com and I have nothing but good things to say. I started out with some questions on a product I wanted to buy and I received a response as soon as their shop opened.
I then proceeded to place an order however my bank was giving me some issues so I had to place it again the next day. Play-asia noticed that I had two pending orders and promptly asked me if one was a duplicate before making any assumptions. I of course let them know that one was a duplicate and it was resolved immediately.
The item I bought Final Fantasy XIII-2 Asia came with free shipping but I opted for FedEx which costed me about $15. I felt the speed increase and peace of mind was worth the extra money. My item was shipped within 24 hours of placing my order and had I not placed the order right before the weekend I probably would have had it in two days, though it arrived bright and early on Monday just before my shift at work started.
Their packaging was good, double bubble wrapped and the order even included a $5 coupon for my next play-asia purchase. The game worked as advertised and I couldn't be happier. For all of your import gaming needs I would say go with play-asia. To me customer service goes a long way in who I do business with. They have proven themselves to me which means I will be placing many more orders in the future.
i ordered, a Nintendo DS Lite, Japanese version. Much better quality, then the U.S. Version. There games, are great, the candy is awesome, and, they have cool stuff, like, hot water bottles, inside of stuffed animals. Super cool, site. Be, polite, cause, you can't get that stuff, anywhere else.
The site provide a verity of games and I have made several purchases from it. I received them all and I was happy with the service. You have to be careful to select the correct game for your system so that you don't be ending with an NTSC game and your system is PAL. Or the language is not supported.
I waited over 2 months for 2 of my jap ps3 games from playasia.com. they don't respond to your emails at all unless you dispute them. very unfriendly and bad email tone that they told me to wait for the back-ordered games. After I open a dispute for a 2 months wait with no games, they all the sudden send me a very nasty email cursing me. They are totally horrible and I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy here. stay away from fraud.
Play-Asia - lot of interesting and rare Asian stuff. On the other side, I've found slight plain finding around the site, they could improve here. Prices would say wasn't particular cheap, neither I could say about the shipment costs. Whatever you choose, it's about twice or more than other places. Unsatisfying and totally rip-off.
The money was however well spend, thanks to quick dispatching and FedEx, my stuff arrived Europe impressively fast and secure.
An issue however arrived on one of my items, but that lead me to try their RMA. Play-Asia responded well and fast to my questions with only few misses. They doing great.
Overall pretty good. I wish they refund in cash and not in store credit, appears they don't. The biggest down was actually FedEx. They wanted to charge me three times afterward in taxes, yes three times. This might not have much relation to the store. I would still advice Danish costumers to take attention when choosing FedEx. The local office surly don't know what they doing.
Play-Asia is a great website as it stocks a lot of difficult to get items in Europe, the prices are a little steep but I suppose if you are looking for hard to get items then you have to expect a price hike. The shipping is where I would say this company loses out on getting the other two stars, it takes a long, long time to get to it's destination and I felt that once you order from them and they have your money they are not very forthcoming with their communication.
This company is a great company to buy from I have gotten every item I have bought from this company on time they offer fed ex and ups shipping to get your items on time air mail is currently not reliable as it takes too long to get your items their customer service is excellent they always get your answer within 24 hrs they have great prices you will not be disapointed with this company
