Only thing that I can complain about is that I extended my stay and accidentally put in a day that I had already paid for, so I ended up paying twice for one night and nobody seemed to want to help me take care of that. I was rather disappointed at that. I stayed in the hotel 8 nights and thought maybe someone would help me.
The greatt deals obtained through Priceline are literally what have kept me from absolute homelessness. I lost my job in October 2012 and am able to survive this way as rents any other way are too high.
Booked a hotel stay for one night in New Orleans two rooms reasonable rate for the French Quarter. There was a box in red on the top right of the hotel info. that stated they only had three rooms left. I booked as fast as possible because we were staying there the next day. After booking I read reviews of the hotel and the complaints of the hidden fees such as the 40.00/night for parking in the hotel's parking garage and a 9.95/room fee for phone service even if we don't use the phone. I called Priceline immediately and tried to cancel and was told I would have to go through the hotel. Called the hotel & was told to call back in the morning when a manager would be working. Called in the a.m. & manager said I would have to go through PL to cancel. Called PL and was told I would still be charged 145.79 for BOTH rooms because I did not cancel by 3/4. I booked the rooms on the night of 3/6 needing to stay on 3/7. What crock of SH** are they dishing out to customers?? Asked to speak to a manager at PL and was given to a customer DIService rep and she read a script repeatedly, talked over me, cut me off, and would not negotiate at all telling me we would be charged in full for the first night 311.58 (we were only staying one night!) and that I already knew all of these details when I agreed to the reservation. I told her that I was previously told it would only be 145.79 for both rooms and she said that it was 145.79 per room even if I was quoted wrong with the first rep. Asked to speak to a manager and she said they do not have managers. Now we have to stay and pay 311.58 plus the extra fees of 80.00 to park and 19.95 to NOT use the phone. I would give negative stars if possible. Priceline SUCKS!!
I have used Priceline for almost all of my hotel reservations for several years, because I know that when they rate a hotel/motel, I can count on the rating to be accurate. I have had only one experience where there was an issue, and Priceline not only fixed the issue, but made sure we were upgraded to a better room in the process--with no extra cost to us. I have had bad experiences with other sites, so I don't understand why anyone would use any site besides Priceline! The site is easy to use, has several booking options, and gives the best value for the dollar available.
I was nervous about using Priceline, although I had heard good things about them in the past. However, I was unsure what to expect. Thank goodness I had an idea about where I needed to stay in the city, so that helped narrow my search. But when I saw which hotel I had "bid on" I was amazed! There was NO way I could have afforded the hotel we stayed in on any other travel website...NO KIDDING (I looked)! The hotel was even better in person than it appeared on the internet, and that usually doesn't happen. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer, but it was seriously tempting!
We booked a car rental through Priceline for a 4 -day trip to Florida. Pickup was in Ft. Lauderdale and drop off in West Palm Beach. Our initial offer was refused, and we were not offered a car until we agreed to their lowest price of $30/day plus tax, which brought our total to $180. Shortly after booking a non-refundable car rental through Budget, we saw advertised on Priceline's site, a rental base price of $22/day through Alamo, the company we wanted in the first place. We called Priceline and spoke to a staff member and a supervisor, who basically told us "too bad" and would not change the booking or adjust the price. The Ft. Lauderdale Budget car rental desk was total chaos, a long line with almost an hour's wait to get the car. The desk was understaffed , with 6 of their 13 computer stations not occupied. We were told by an employee that "it had been like that all week", so this was not a fluke. Under no circumstances should you rent from Budget in Ft. Lauderdale! We were also told that they had the cheapest prices, hence the crowds, but this was not so as described above. The car itself was fine, once we got it.
We looked for pet friendly hotels with good ratings for cleanliness and Priceline was able to narrow the field quickly to just what we wanted. It made it easy to select the area with the maps shown, also. I wasted about an hour before I used Priceline. Wish I had used Priceline first!
Booked a flight to California, from LA to San Fran. Then needed somewhere to stay. Priceline name your own bid got us great hotels for unbelievable prices. Booked almost our entire trip through Priceline, and I would do it all again
Priceline over booked the hotel. We had to stay at two hotels. Luckily it was just for one night. And the hotel was next door. The hotel said this happens a lot. I might think twice the next time I travel using this service.
