I purchased laptop insurance from Protect My Bubble, and unfortunately my laptop was stolen. I reported the theft and provided all the documents and information they requested.

The main issue is proof of address. I explained from the beginning that I do not have a utility bill or council tax bill, and that I am currently unable to obtain a council electoral registration letter because of an issue with the council’s website preventing me from registering to vote at my address. I provided a rental agreement that is less than three months old as proof of address, but this has apparently not been accepted.although its mentioned in their list of accepted documents. Weird

What is extremely frustrating is that, after I explained I could not provide the council letter, they now seem to be dismissing the other documents I have provided and repeatedly insisting on the one document they already know I cannot obtain. It gives the impression that they are looking for a reason to avoid progressing the claim rather than genuinely assessing the evidence available.

It has now been a week since I started providing the requested documents, yet my claim is still not progressing.

I also had a particularly poor experience with one of their team members, Dave/David from CIT. His communication and approach were extremely unprofessional. The way the situation was handled showed very little understanding of customer service or how to deal with a frustrated customer appropriately.

Overall, this has been a very stressful and disappointing experience. I expected an insurance company to assess my claim fairly based on the evidence available, rather than repeatedly requesting one specific document that I have already explained I cannot provide.still waiting for my claim if not resolved i will be going to trading standard and Financial Ombudsman Service.

Protect My Bubble needs to seriously improve its claims handling and customer service. At this stage, I would not recommend them.

Update

Update following my original review: Unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved.

Despite providing a valid and recent tenancy agreement, Protect My Bubble has continued to reject it as proof of address without providing a clear or specific reason for doing so.

Their own final response lists a tenancy agreement as an acceptable form of proof of address, yet they have not identified any specific requirement in the policy terms regarding the format or type of tenancy agreement that must be provided.

There is no clear explanation of what requirement my tenancy agreement supposedly fails to meet. An agreement is an agreement, and if the insurer has additional requirements regarding its format or contents, those requirements should be clearly stated in the policy terms.

I have now decided to take the matter further and refer my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service for an independent assessment of whether the claim has been handled fairly and reasonably.just waiting for their response today.

I will provide a further update once the matter is concluded.

They have my claim this febuary 2026 when it was faild now they was to call me back because they have station recipt but they never called back last week to see if they can give because they anit call me in 3 and a half money now need to reply claim.
