Went though the whole process. Including verifying I owned the website, then they freeze my account and want all data like passport, drivers license , utility bills, and they want that by email sent to a foreign country! Its a waste of time . I would never use them.

I have been a loyal Sedo-customer for over 20 years and earned almost € 100000 through them. Now I wanted to close my account and get my last and final payment. They closed my account fast, but will not pay me what they owe me. So I have basically been screwed over by them after being a loyal customer for over 20 years... 👎😡😥 Stay away!

I had two interactions with Sedo, once about 5 years ago, and then just this week. Both times they overestimated the value of my single-word, highly brandable domain, and when asked to provide comparable sales or a basis for their valuation, they either fell silent or told me to take a hike. My reading is they will be dishonest to lock you into a six month contract. They get paid regardless of the price of the sale, and they don’t seem motivated to back up their wild claims. I went elsewhere.

Transfer is very smooth. The only annoyance is inviting the buyer to request an invoice. Is an invoice really needed?

I purchased a domain through sedo.com and found out the next day that they hadn't confirmed the seller still owned it before the sale went through. I think that's outrageous. I'm now left with a refund, which is fair, but no domain, which is pointless. Very disappointed in this experience.

The whole process was incredibly frustrating. I was forced to print off a PDF, attach photos of my credit card and passport, add a physical signature, and email it all back to them. After all that, the domain didn't even exist to be sold, and apparently I'm just meant to be happy with a refund.

The one thing Sedo could really improve is verifying whether a domain is still owned at the point of sale. They may well have verified ownership at some stage, but a one-off check isn't enough. They're clearly not re-checking at the moment a domain could actually be sold or transferred, which is when it counts. When I Googled this afterwards, the forum thread I found describing the exact same issue was dated 2008. It's 2026. How have they not improved their processes since then? This is basic domain stuff. When a domain changes hands, it's right there in the public records they could easily check, but they chose not to. They're disrespecting their customers' time by not making sure the things they list are actually available to buy.

I wholeheartedly would not recommend buying anything from this company. They claimed I could take legal action, but that was a single sentence tacked on at the end, with no support and no regard for what I actually wanted from this purchase.

I had a very bad experience with Sedo. They accepted my payment, but later deleted my user data and sent me an email saying they could not provide the service. They also stated that the service fee was non-refundable.

I tried contacting them through their support email and abuse email, but I received no response. It is very difficult to get in touch with anyone from their team.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend using Sedo.com. Be careful before making any payment, because you may not receive the service and you may not get your money back.
