Ordered a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses with custom prescription lenses, when they arrive, the right lens was sitting right back towards my eye causing distortion and it also made the frame to uncomfortable to wear.
I sent the item back and was told that I'd get the frame refunded but not the lenses (fair enough really, it is stated on the website). As this was a lot of money to lose out on I asked for the lenses to be put in to a different frame (same model) as I believed there was something wrong with the frame. They told me they'd send it to their opticians and do it.
I got a call afterwards, their opticians had told them it would make no difference and I was told by the Shade Station rep that it must be the frame's style to blame - not a fault with the frame. I couldn't accept that answer as I'd never had similar trouble in the past. I wanted them to change the lenses anyway and send them out because I couldn't believe that it was the frame's style. The rep would not do this and tried to end the call by saying he would refund me for the frames - obviously trying to tie this whole thing up and get me off the phone. I was told as it wouldn't make a difference - they wouldn't do it.
I asked to speak to a manager who told me she'd refund the frames but not the lenses. As they weren't willing to send out a new replacement, I asked for a full refund including the custom frames as I felt Shade Station weren't even trying to help me out here. After kicking up a bit of a fuss, the manager told me that they weren't refusing to send a replacement (even thought that's exactly what I was told before) and they'd send one out. She also tried to tell me that she was doing me a favour by even offering to refund the frames - even though their policy covers that. Not a big deal but felt that was a little 'creative' with the truth.
The replacement has arrived and fits fine but I doubt I'll be using Shade Station again.
On the plus side, delivery is fairly quick. When I ordered my frames, the site told me it would take something like 3 days (which I thought was optimistic considering the custom lenses). I was contacted informing me of a delay. As I expected this, it was at least good that they gave me a heads up. The replacement frames also arrived quickly.
Overall, if you don't have any problems with your order - the prices are good and delivery is decent but if anything goes wrong - don't expect good customer support.
Ordered a pair of sunglasses on a Sunday that were showing as In stock. On the Friday I queried the order as they had not been received, only to be told that they weren't In stock and that they weren't expecting any in until the following Wednesday at the earliest! There was no apology whatsoever - they had the balls to question my attitude and things rapidly went down hill from there! Order cancelled and will not be using themagain.
I found a pair of ray bans cheaper on another site, however when I asked shadestation to price match they reviewed, and made excuses of why they couldn't. They even said the other company didn't have them in stock. So I contacted them and they advised me they did have them in stock.
I wouldn't trust this company.
My girlfriend bought a pair of glasses online and they were dispatched, scheduled to be delivered on a Tuesday. My girlfriend waited in and low and behold, Interlink said it wouldn't be Tuesday, it would now be Wednesday. My girlfriend waited in on Wednesday as long as she could until she had to go out to work. We returned to our house, expecting a missed parcel notice - but no - SOMEONE had signed for our parcel AS MY GIRLFRIEND. (Can only have been the interlink delivery driver)
I called Interlink because something was very, very wrong. I explained to them that nobody was in the house, so it was impossible for someone to have signed for them. Interlink told me that they have refunded the shop we purchased from and they would be able to refund us.
So, I call ShadeStation. ShadeStation say that this is NOT TRUE and they want to raise a complaint about Interlink. So I call Interlink and asked for his name. The Interlink guy also tells me that the delivery guy who "delivered" my parcel worked for an agency, but he doesn't work for them anymore. (What, in the space of 1 week?)
Mark from Interlink then tells me that I need to call a company called Eccles? to ask for a digital signature. (ShadeStation send me the signature approx 2 hours later - which ISN'T my girlfriends, hence the delivery driver signing it himself)
So I then tell ShadeStation to call and speak to the Interlink guy and discuss it between them. ShadeStation then call me and say that Mark/Jack from Interlink told ShadeStation that I called Interlink CLAIMING TO BE FROM SHADE STATION !!!! The ShadeStation guy then tells me, case closed and I've lost my money!
Bottom line - Disappointing customer service. Why ShadeStation doesn't use UPS or a more reputable company I will never know. But to be honest, both companies were as useless as each other. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
If you read this ShadeStation - I still demand a THOROUGH investigation. I want you to investigate the sub-contracting agency worker that Interlink told me about. And I want a refund - because despite a (fraudulent) signature, that parcel NEVER EVER made it to me or my girlfriend. If it did reach us, I wouldn't bother writing this review.
Placed gorder 21st December....arrived 24th. Can't beat that. Quick efficient delivery even over the Christmas period. Item arrived in perfect condition and as described. I spoke to representatives via telephone and live chat and both were very helpful. Great company...will buy again from shade station.

I recently bought an Oakley sunglasses refresher pack from Shadestation. The price was unbeatable. The product wasn't in stock (I knew this before ordering). I received a pleasant call advising me that the stock may be delayed, but the product would be dispatched as soon as it was in stock. I received my goods today, more than two weeks early - all nicely wrapped, and even included a some sweets - nice touch. It's nice to deal with a company that really gets it right. Definitely recommend, definitely use again.
I sent in a price match request and they responded with a code in minutes. online chat had a quick response as well, very friendly and helpful.

I bought a pair of Ray Ban Aviators just yesterday from ShadeStation - now they are sat next to me ready for me to wear them when I go out!
I'm always skeptical about buying sunglasses online as there are WAY more fakes than authentic ones. However, after reading some reviews, I decided that ShadeStation was my best bet.
Their site was easy to navigate and functional, rather than "in your face" and difficult to use. I especially liked that they displayed all of the product info including the full model numbers so you can know for sure exactly the model you are buying.
The best thing however was the level of service and delivery. Included is free next-day delivery. Throughout my order, I was kept up-to-date via email on the stages of my order. Once the item had been handed to the courier, I received an email with tracking code so I could keep an eye on where my item was in the delivery process. I also received a text alert to tell me the date I would receive the package, as well as another email and text alert at 7am of the day of delivery to tell me the name of my delivery driver, as well as an hour slot that he would arrive. The delivery time was stated 10:43am - 11:43am and the package arrived at 10:48am.
The package itself was in an outside plastic envelope, with an inner cardboard box - there was NO signs of damage on the packaging so it was obviously handled with care and not thrown around. Inside the cardboard box was my sunglasses box (inside that was the sunglasses and case) which was very neatly wrapped in black tissue paper and looked very professional. There were also 2 boiled sweets which was a very nice touch and gave it that personal feel.
Altogether I couldn't fault the level of service and the product. I think you can tell by the length of this review and the amount of praise/detail I have given that I am very pleased. By far the best online retailer I have ordered from - and likely to remain the best!

I ordered a pair of special edition sunglasses at a very good price. Free delivery was due next day. At 8 in the morning I received a text message telling me delivery would be between 11:30 and 12:30 - the only time that day that wasn't convenient! I text back 1 (as per directions) and delivery was changed to the next day. I can't think of how it could have been easier for me.
I will be using Shadestation again, and the courier they use are fantastic too.

As holidays approaching I decided to treat myself a pair of raybans. Most retailers on the high street sell the basic colours, styles, so I was very pleased to see them online at shadestation.co.uk, and ordered happily enough, very competative price, and great website to use with excellent functionality, and free next day delivery!
I contacted customer service regarding my order, who answered my queries very well, and were very helpful. I would definitely reccommend shadestation, and will certainly order from them again in the near future.

I cannot believe how efficient this company was. I rang at 4.30pm in a panic needing spares for my Oakleys as I was leaving for holiday after the Bank Holiday weekend and sure enough the spares were delivered to me at 9.30am the next day. The guy who answered the phone was so pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable and this transaction was superb. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
I was really impressed with Shadestation's service, after having a tough time finding the sunglasses I saw in a shop again but online.
Firstly, they offered a price matching service from another online retailer and a quote was matched very quickly. I then ordered the product, with free next day courier delivery, and was kept fully up to date on its progress. I actually thought something was going to go wrong-the glasses I wanted were difficult to find elsewhere online and I had to trawl through many dodgy sites, would they really dispatch this quickly etc.
Lo and behold an email arrives last night confirming the dispatch and they duly arrived today. I was at work but a neighbour signed, I was even more impressed to see the courier had an hourly timeslot for my planned delivery, which would be great if I was lucky enough to be at home.
