Worst online non-shopping experience, avoid these scammers

They seem legitimate don't they, they even half look like they are based in Berkshire - the credit card sale on my statement says so. But no, they take your money, say they will ship in 2-4 business days but of course nothing arrives. Can't get through on the phone, emails are answered by a different 'person' each time, they use language like 'we have contacted the relevant department and they are experiencing a dispatch backlog. Your order is expected to be dispatched in 7 days/ 10 days whatever.'. How busy can a dispatch department be??!! It is such a blatant scam operation, so one month into this I am turning my claim over to my credit card company! Please don't make the same mistake as me, and avoid dealing with these scammers.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

If a price is too good to be true it is because it usually isn't true. Pay the extra and get a guaranteed service. It will put your mind at rest and stop the grey hairs appearing from worry.

Ordered a 5D MKIII that was listed as 'In Stock' with delivery times of 2-4 days. The money was taken from my account immediately so I requested a Tracking Number for the item. Told 'heavy demand for this item, so delays in shipping, will be a few more days'.

Requested and update after 2 days and told 'being shipped tomorrow'. Nothing arrived.

Requested an update 3 days later and told 'could be another week - problems with our shipping dept'. Nothing came.

Ended up requesting refund - guess what - no refund after 3 weeks. Repeatedly told that refund was 'being processed', then 'delay due to current processes we have in place'. I ended up handing the matter over to my credit card company who refunded the money after 10 days.

Customer care line says it is 24 hours. It is not. It is only open 9-5 Mon-Fri and usually takes 45+ mins to get through. Never spoke to the same person twice. They are nice as pie until you start questioning them, then they start to get short with you and start reeling off company policy.

Emails are only replied to with generic responses once a day and always from a different person telling you how the problem is sorted. Different excuse each time.

Refunds are non-existent and they give you the same list of excuses when you try to get your money back.

Company is registered in Kowloon, not UK.

If this does not put you off I would recommend only purchasing from these people using a credit card.

The worst service ever encountered

I returned goods and after a long 3 week wait was advised that they would make a refund within 2 weeks. 10 weeks later and I am still waiting for my refund. There is no point trying to contact Simply Electronics as they only provide a regurgitated standard reply.

They offer a very poor service so don't be fooled by their low prices. They are slow to deliver merchandise and provide no after service.
Keep away and shop elsewhere

Order not shipped and payment not refunded

I placed an order for an Olympus XZ-1 White camera, which was announded "In stock usually ship in 2-4 Business Days" . My Visa Gold credit card was debited on March 14 for 309.95€.
Simply Electronics did not deliver. When I asked why, they pretended on March 22, that upon shipment they had discovered that the "camera was damaged and had to be returned" They also pretended that "the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time". They proposed that I selected a different camera, which I refused.
I checked the next day on their website, they indicated "3 units in stock" and the price was 10€ higher (319.95€)!
Simply Electronics cancelled my order March 30, and wrote "It can take up to 2 weeks on occasion for the refund to be initiated".
5 weeks late I have not received any refund, despite several email.
Either they are totaly disorganised or they are dishonest.

Appalling company, abysmal customer service

Ordered two items that were both in stock, order processed and an acknowledgement followed. Several days later thought I would check when I could expect the goods, logged into the site and on the order a message stated I needed to contact customer services, no email, no call from them to say there was any sort of problem
So I call the 24hr number - Office closed?? called again later selected customer service option, automated message said there was a 1hour 51 minute wait!!!! but I could hang up and call back after that and keep my place in the que, so I did just that, rang back 2 hours later the message said the wait would be 42 minutes??? I called back much later same thing happened - enormous wait times every time...I started to get worried then. Tried the sales line, which surprise surprise answered within a few minutes, an Indian sounding guy told be he would have to put me through customer services, you guessed it back to the ever growing que. I've emailed them many times and despite a reply email reassuring you will get a response in a couple of working days, I'm still waiting. I've emailed them again to cancel the order, and have since found they have taken the money from my account. My advise, avoid at all cost, pay a few more pounds to a company who has a good reputation for customer service from previous users, had I read the reviews about this company before I ordered, I would never have used them....

I ordered my canon 7d with the web page staiting 2 to 4 days despatch
4 weeks and 12 phone calls and many many emails it arived with the battery missing 5 weeks later and many phone calls and emails later still waiting for it to arrive i have had to buy myself another one from jessops
everytime i call day or night im waiting 40mins + i now never get answers from my emails everytime i call i end up speaking to people in hong kong who dont care at all

Order didnt arrive

This is my first time I have ordered from this Company. NEVER AGAIN!
I placed my order (which was to be a gift) because the listing said 2-4 working days dispatch.
I received my email confirming my order and they took £99.95 from my account.
On the 5th day after placing the order I had not received conformation that my order had been dispatched so I contacted them.
I was unable to reach them by phone as they have a premium rate number and both times i tried to call them I was placed in a queue with a waiting time of 30 mins.
It takes them 2-3 working days for them to reply to emails and their excuse for not dispatching my order was that they have problems getting orders out and have held back on my item to try to catch up on getting orders out. I inquired if they actually had the item in stock? Their reply to this was yes but they still could not tell me when my order would be dispatched. I find this totally unacceptable and I have emailed them 3 days in a row telling them I am cancelling my order but I have not heard anything from them. They have now had my money for 9 days. I will be contacting my Credit card today regarding this matter.

AWFUL

Have to agree with all other poor reviews. Ordered an Ipad 2 on Feb 20th, next day had email requesting I upload confirmation of my identitiy as security check. As I was not prepared to do this and it would delay the order I cancelled the order. Payment taken from my credit card anyway on Feb 20 (even without supplying secuity check info, so what's the point!). Phoned up to request refund which was duly promised. April 11th receive letter from credit card company charging me £12 for going over credit limit, after contacting them learn still no refund from Simply Electronics! Spent all day trying to get in touch with customer services. Finally managed to get through following day, guy very helpful and has promised refund........will wait and see!
Nothing simple about this company and would not use it ever in the future or recommend it!. I have given it 1 star because system will not allow me to give zero!

Worst company ever-fraud-avoid avoid avoid

Ordered an iPad on 16th march. Rang company on the 19th to cancel my order as it had not even been processed at that point only to be sent an email 2days later saying it had been dispatched. I was told by their customer services not to sign for the item so it would get sent back to them and I would receive a refund. (NOT). I have a date and signature off city link of when and who signed for the item (they received the item back on march 23rd). I have sent several emails and made several telephone calls regarding this refund and I am still waiting for my money, after being told by their customer services that they have received the item. I have since contacted my credit card company about this and they can only claim the money back if simply electronics send me an email agreeing to refund my card (credit card number has to be in the email). So I will never ever purchase off the Internet again. I have no idea what to do next to get my money back.

Watch dog should stop them from trading

Beware!!! UK phone numbers - but really based in Hong Kong. They are a disgraceful company - that dont honour refunds and rarely answer phones to clients. DO NOT USE this company! Disgraceful! I have complete documentation of why i'm writing this, if trust pilot want to see this i can provide it! So i challenge you simply 'dodgy' electronics!!! Try and remove this feedback!!! You are horrible people. I hope you stop trading!

Excellent service

Ordered an ipad2 on thursday evening and was delivered the following thursday. Company e mailed to let me know they were prepaing for despatch and again to give me courier details so I could track package. This company performs better than Amazon and I saved around £30. I was a bit concerned when I read feedback but cannot fault them in the slightest. I recommend SImply ELectronics to all so much I have ordered another ipad2. Well done SImply Electronics

Where did all the rave revies come from ?

This firm is an absolute shambles, and is a scam. They will not refund my money nor do they contact after my daily e-mails. Believe me there are plenty of superb internet retailers out there. LEAVE THIS FIRM WELL ALONE.
All of a sudden a pile of rave reviews have hit this site...........comedy absolute comedy.
My bank now has all their details also Watchdog and various fraud investigators.

New camera purchase

I purchased a Panasonic GF3 twin lens kit from Simply Electronics as it was the cheapest price I could find on the net. When ordered (Saturday afternoon) it said the item was in stock and normally shipped in 2 to 4 business days but it took over a week to arrive. In this day and age this is rather slow especially given I ordered a new camera case from another well known online retailer on the Wednesday and it arrived on the Friday! After sales service is good. Despite the slow delivery time I would consider purchasing from them in the future

Good price, poor service

I purchased a 4th generation IPOD at the best price that was "in stock" with Simply Electronics. It was not delivered by the date advised and no-one answered the Customer Services phone, although you are advised you are in a queue and someone would ring you back. The Sales line was answered, but no-one would answer my query or tell me how to proceed. I rang my Credit Card company who said they would deal with the matter if I did not receive my goods. I tried one last time and sent an email requesting delivery or a refund, but miraculously I received my IPOD in a few days. I was worried it was not genuine, but I registered it with Apple, with no problems. I am very pleased with it, especially the battery power, which was a nuisance with the first generation. I would probably give this company another chance and buy again from them, but I would send an email without delay and I would always pay by Credit Card so that they could resolve the matter if there was a problem.

Don't do it!

Just don't do it. Ordered over two weeks ago and still waiting. Don't believe the good reviews on here with the dodgy English. They don't answer the phone or emails. This company should be banned from selling to the UK. Terrible.

Don't deal with them.

My husband ordered a lens for me from them and cancelled on the same day as I found it cheaper. They still took his money. They also still delivered a week later. They wouldn't pay the full postage to have it sent back. We only got our money back when we complained to Paypal. In all it took us 37 e.mails and wasted hours. Their system is totally crooked and geared to making them as much money out of you as they can. The few pounds you might save are not worth the anger and frustration when it goes wrong.

good price but slow delivery

I purchased a Panasonic projector on 11th October, it was the cheapest price that I could find online. I opted for free delivery and was warned that the delivery time was 3-8 days. My credit card was debited on the 13th October but the projector was not dispatched until the 18th. I contacted Simply on the 15th querying the delivery date and received a reply on the 17th. I received an email on the 19th to let me know that it had been dispatched and it arrived the same day. It was very well packaged and undamaged. Although the item was received within the specified time it seemed a bit "mean" to make me wait the full eight days. I would do business with them again but might be inclined to pay for delivery.

Those who did not purchase yet BEWARE DO NOTTT BUY I had the most traumatic shopping experience

I never had such a traumatic experience whilst shopping! this company is depressing.. shamefull & unbelievable :S

When I first purchased my item they spent ten days asking me for copy of identity card and utility bills for some stupid address verification.. I was horrified cause i dont think this is fair! I mean take your money.. give me my item and thats it! (thats how it is with efficient companies anyway). But because i got blinded by the cheap price I sent the personal stuff anyway..

After many emails to the stupid staff at simply electronics they said that they were done with verification and would put my order in queue!! another 5 depressing days passed... i got all stressed up since they took my money and I needed the camera for my holiday and couldnt afford to buy another one.. so i have no pictures of my holiday!!!!!

I asked for a refund and because these stupid people want to be so nerve wrecking they told me to wait for 5 working days to get MY money back!! they took the money after one day so I pretend getting them back in one day too!! Not to mention that I should also ask for compensation for the hassle and stress caused and the ruined holiday!

I have to take legal proceedings against this company and I won't quit until they get what they deserve. People like these shouldn't be on the market they are STEALING people's money!!!

DELIVERY

When you look at someones website and you find what you want and it says IN STOCK usually dispatched in 1-2 days you think all is well when you need it in 8 days. But when you click buy you are told it will take 2-7 days once you've shown some commitment to buy, but thats ok i need it it 8 days. This IN STOCK item took 10 days to arrive. CRAP
