Half the price and delivered in 3 days. Perfect.

Was a little unsure about ordering from Honk Kong so confirmed frames were in stock first before ordering. I got positive confirmation on an email within 48hrs and ordered (via the supplied link from the reply - nice touch) straight away. I was sent a trackable delivery number within a few hours and saw they left the country that night. Arrived 48hrs later in perfect condition. Saved myself around £80 which was the same amount as the frames cost. I would use them again for frames without hesitation. Excellent service. One last word - the postage value is quoted as very low to avoid customs checks which although commonplace is not 100% upfront so I'd hope that the company would compensate if there were any issues.

Arrived before I knew it!

Ordered Rayban's for my daughter's birthday present. Arrived by courier within 2 or 3 days all packaged up in a box which I haven't opened. My only disppointment was that they had come from Hong Kong and not the UK. If I'd known this when I placed the order, I would have reqested delivery be made direct to my daughter in Australia...

Item that was out-of-stock delievered in the end

I placed an order for a item that was subsequently discovered to be out of stock. The staff (Kally & Jason) was very patient with my queries and helped me check on the supplier.

They subsequently found the stock and gave me a discount of my purchase as a gesture of goodwill.

Although I received my item late, I did not mind the wait because I really wanted that particular pair of glasses and the staff helped to get it for me. Thanks guys!

Top Products, Keen Price, Swift Service.

Managed to leave my old Polaroids somewhere never to be seen again. Thus needed a replacement pronto. Found SmartBuyGlasses and was amazed by the choice and excellent prices. Choosing was the main challenge from such a huge selection. Plumped for a lovely pair of Carreras which arrived within the week even though I ordered just before the weekend. I nearly bought a similar unused vintage pair from a retro site but they were far more expensive so I saved a few quid as well.

great glasses, poor service.

Hi all. I ordered some glasses from this company from their website and realised it could take sometime but watched my order status online and was worried how it was changing from one statement back to the first which was 'processing', so I emailed the customer services. Heres where the fun begins . Although the website address says UK, they are diffo NOT in the UK, thats why they take so long to email you back, which I complained to them about and they did improve. Anyways turns out that my glasses were discontinued with the manufacturers and they were trying different soures to obtain them which they couldnt in the end, hence why the status kept changing. They said its because they offer such a huge range that they cant keep the website upto date. I have to say most companies I have dealt with have a stock control system in place, which is an easy computer program to have. If I hadn't have contacted them it would have taken longer to find out info. I left for a few days to see if anything would change but it didn't and what Kally (customer services)had replied to me about was correct. They offered me a few options, one to have a refund, one to have a discount off a pair of glasses in stock and one to have a lesser discount on a pair of glasses not in stock. I tried to negotiate a higher discount but they were having none of it. So i plumped for some glasses in stock. It seemed to be going on for ages but once I agreed to have the glasses in stock things seemed to go quicker. The glasses were dispatched and arrived quite quickly given they were sent from, surprise surprise HONG KONG. I think they are geniune and have no reason to question this and they were probably the cheapest price around.
So in conclusion if you want a pair of glasses from this company or one of its many websites(it trades under different names) you will have to allow a long time to get them, I would order them at least 4 weeks before you need them. Order the ones that say 'quick delivery' as they have them 'in stock' and you will have a good pair of sunglasses for a good price. Dont think you will get them quickly because you wont, unless your a very lucky person. Good luck.
ps, i have ordered another pair of sunglasses from another website and they took 1 week to come from italy. No problems what so ever, so it can be done.

Desperate Service!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED YOUR SUNGLASSES THIS YEAR!!!

I ordered a pair of prescription Ray Ban RB2132 Wayfarers Polarized (size 52) from SBG on 2 April. It took them 11 days to tell me that the frame was not in stock and would take between 1 - 4 weeks (but maybe longer) before they available. Great!

They offered me alternative frames ('Click here for our huge range of In Stock items') and a 15% discount. I made an alternative choice the same day. Three days later, they told me my alternative choice wasn't available, but was available in a different size. Unfortunately, the size they told me didn't exist (they said a size 55 was available, but the website showed size 54). I said I'd be happy with a size 54 frame and, lo and behold, two days later they have asked me - 'to avoid mistake and confusion' - whether I want to go back to my original order or choose another completely different frame in a different size!!! AARRGGHH!!!

Basically, SBG don't have a clue what their distributor has in stock or when it will be available. Their phone is never answered and it takes days to get even a simple response (although not a particularly helpful one).

UPDATE 29 April 2012 - Two days ago, they offered an alternative that I accepted (same frame, different lense colour). I told them this and they cancelled my original order and, without telling me, placed a new order for a totally different frame that was not acceptable!! Unbelievable incompetence - it is now nearly a month since I placed my order and they have no idea what is even available to deliver!

I'd give SmartBuyGlasses zero stars but I'm not allowed. A truly, truly desperate service!

Glasses not of great quality.

I ordered some sunglasses for 44 pounds, having really no idea what the quality would be. Went to the manufacturor's website. Wasn't too happy in the end with the quality of the glasses, they were probably worth much less.

A nightmare - NOT RECOMMENDED online glasses shop

the order has been placed last week. Money debited from the account 3 days later. The order status still saying I need to be verified.

After numerous attempts to contact customer service and understand what is happening and what they need (as they will not contact you in the first place.... you have to do it yourself) - email finally received.

So.... AFTER the money deduction from the bank account email received from customer service - they need to VERIFY my identity. They ask some proof to be sent by email.
Copy of ID and copy of bank statement sent by email.

And they still insist that I should now pay with Paypal not credit card!!!!!!!! `the money is already debited!!!!!!!

The worst customer experience shopping online ever. Nightmare!!!!!

Very high percentage of cases we pick up are high risk cases and we are extremely careful and take this very seriously (it can indeed happen when there are differences between the website country and the shipping country); that’s why we sometimes ask for ID proof. This process is for the protection of customer's credit card details and the safety of online purchasing. 

I am truly sorry that there was some confusion with the communication. In this case our customers usually have 3 options:
1. provide necessary information to verify shipping address / billing address
2. cancel original transaction and repay via paypal
3. cancel the order and get full refund.

Best prices I found on the net.Communication was very good,but be prepared to wait a week or so for delivery-your patience will pay off. I saved app £200.00 on 2 pais of sunglasses when compared to the prices in Selfridges!

Paid for undeliverable glasses

This is very annoying. Another of these companies where you place an order, the money is withdrawn from your account and you wonder where your product is. I ordered a pair of glasses, my account was debited and only because I randomly checked the order status, I saw that the glasses I ordered are not in stock and that it can take an indefinite time 'more than a month' to get them delivered. I find this quite impertinent as this company didn't even bother to notify me that the glasses are undeliverable! I want my money back or a confirmation of an exact delivery date. As I need these glasses urgently, I would actually expect some kind of indemnification as I have to place an order somewhere else to get glasses and who knows when I'll get anything from this company.

As stated on our website, the average processing time is 5 to 12 working days as we have to order directly from our suppliers in Italy. However we also have a wide range of sunglasses and glasses in stock available for immediate dispatch.

I can see that you ordered on March 19th, so once you placed your order, we automatically placed the order with our Italian suppliers. We then received information that the model ordered was back-ordered by official manufacturer, which means that it is still in production but that i might take 2 to 3 weeks to process the order.
While keeping you informed of your order status by email notifications, we provided several solutions to resolve this issue caused by the manufacturer: Wait for the original order, change for another model or get a full refund.
Since you decided to get a refund, we cancelled your order and processed the refund back to the same account you used to place the order. Also be aware that it can take 3 to 5 days for the bank to valid the refund process.

Follow up to my earlier post - 3 weeks after returning defective item i'm still awaiting a refund

3 weeks after returning the defective glasses i'm still awaiting my refund. They have stopped responding to my e-mails. Im considering taking them to the small claims court.

Well, i finally received my order... several weeks after placing it.
Upon opening the package to my horror one of the arms to the frame is missing. I could not believe it. my heart sank.
I have emailed them, but so far have had no response.
I'm utterly disappointed. I cannot use this frame because it's not fit for purpose.
I have asked for a refund so i may go and buy from a UK based retailer. So far i have no reply to my request.
Please smartbuyglasses can you kindly issue a refund so this nightmare can end and i can finally buy my glasses elsewhere.
I would appreciate your co-operation.

SCAM SCAM SCAM BEWARE

Bewarr everybody. This company has taken payment from my account and the goods have not been delivered. It has been over two weeks since they took payment, and they haven't replied to emails or telephone call EVER. Have alerted American Express fraud department and they are following it up, and said that necessary compensation will be sought.

Just wish I had read some of the reviews on here before purchasing.

Really disappointing!

I've been calling, leaving messages and emailing the company and no one bothers to reply!
It has also been more than 10 days and I still haven't received my glasses!

We usually reply to all emails within 24 hours and since you couldn't reach us by phone you could have requested by email to call you back providing your phone number and hours of availability. 

As requested, your order was already cancelled and refund was processed back to the account you used to place the order. Please note that it can take 2 or 3 days for your bank to approve the refund.

Waste of time...

This company advertises items that are not even in stock. I only found out that they did not have the item I paid for because I contacted them as my order was taking a long time to be processed. No one bothered to contact me and no one bothers to answer the phone....EVER!!
If you want good customer service- don't use this company.

14 days delivery!??????

The transaction date was on 24th of February. I sent several mails to the customer service as they are promising maximum 14 days delivery.
I haven t received any answer yet. I am very disappointed!!!

Faulty payment system. Worried!!

After choosing the sunglasses I wanted, I entered my credit card details, only to be met with an error mesage. After waiting 10 minutes or more for a confirmation email, I was reassured the transaction had failed and tried again, this time with success, and the confirmation email appeared almost immediately.

A week later, having heard nothing about delivery, I checked my credit card statement and to my horror the payment went through twice!

I have sent an email to customer services with no response, and it seems the telephone helpline is simply a voicemail: I tried all day but no one would answer my call.

Very concerned about what has happened and unsure what to do!

Very good service.

After reading some of the review I was a little apprehensive about ordering from Smart buy glasses, so I sent the customer services an e-mail asking for a delivery estimate, they replied along with a discount code so I pleased the order and the sun glasses arrived within their timing they had given, what more can you ask for.
