Value, Ease and Efficiency

I needed a leaflet printed quickly for distribution so started on-line. Found 2 to 3 options but Solopress was easy to follow. However I had questions about artwork so called and spoke to sales. They listened, explained and made everything simple. Forwarded job request to account manager as advised, received email link to make payment and confirmation invoice followed. All done within the hour and the finished job was delivered by 12pm next day! The cost was a fraction of the competition and included delivery. Fantastic experience, great service and tremendous value for money. I sincerely recommend Solopress for print solutions.

Quick but not too accurate!

Service was good, quick and efficient. However, the paper weights quoted are completely inaccurate. In my view (and probably most other people) paper weights go as follows: 80g - normal use paper, 100g better quality paper, 120g thin card, 250g thickish card etc. However, I ordered 160g (which actually turned out to be 170g) and it's only marginally thicker than 100g paper. When I questionned this I was told that thin card is 350-400g. My husband, who worked for 30+ years in the packaging industry tells me this is more like thick board used for substantial boxes!

So, my suggestion would be to use the same paper weights that everyone knows!

I was understandably disappointed in the print run I had done and will think twice before using Solopress again - shame!

I am sorry to hear you were not happy with the quality of your order. We purchase our stocks from reliable paper mills, and print over 400 jobs daily to which we rarely receive any queries relating to the weight of the stock.

If you would like to return a few samples, I can arrange for them to be measured using a micrometer, and send you photographs of the outcome so you can see the thickness of the paper is as advertised and sold.

I will send you one of our sample packs, which has all the different stocks we hold. It would be great if you could take a look through the paper and consider using us again.

Excellent quality, and returned in 24 hours as advertised.

We started using solopress for those small jobs that are sometimes the most important. The quality of our matt laminate business cards is better than what we have previously had for a much bigger run on a Litho 4 colour press.
We are in the process of opening a credit account with solopress as we intend to use them again and again for these types of jobs.

Needed very careful proofing - but a nice product and good service

Good website that caught my eye and all was quite simple. They were comfortable to deal with and always responded quickly. However there were quite a few errors at the proofing stage that presented a serious risk of ordering 500 cards with spelling mistakes. The end product was very nice and I am very happy with the cards, the packaging and the speed of delivery. However I would advise to be very careful when reviewing your proofs and get a colleague to help spot errors as if you agree with proof it is your responsibility. I would return as hopefully this was an off day.

A few niggles but good value and excellent turnaround times

I used Solopress to print some leaflets for my business, they were very good value, and they came on the day they promised, very fast turnaround. The only problem I had was uploading the front and back on the website, only the front uploaded and the emails we then exchanged did delay the printing by two days, which was annoying. Not sure if it was my fault, not having used the website before, or theirs. I'd use them again, definitely.

Upon receipt of an order, we will check the right artwork has been uploaded for the number of sides requested, the size of the artwork corresponds with the ordered size and is of a high enough resolution to provide maximum print quality.

One of our sales representatives will check the artwork thoroughly for the above, if they feel or can see one of these components do not match or meet requirements they will inform the customer. We do this to ensure the customer receives exactly what they have ordered and expected.

In the case of your order, our sales representative noticed you had requested a 2 sided leaflet but only one side was received and the artwork was not at A5 size. He tried to reach you at the telephone but unfortunately was unsuccessful, he proceeded to send an email to advise you of his concerns.

We received your artwork the following day, which meant we were able to proceed with the printing and dispatch the goods for delivery with immediate effect.

Superb service at a great price!

I found my experience with Solopress to be brilliant in particular with designer Simon Penny who was a great help to me when trying to pick colours for my business cards. The guys were good at letting me know deadlines for printing spot UV as well. The only tiny niggle for me was that I kept getting sent payment requests (i think about 12) even though I had mentioned I would pay when picking up. Apart from that fantastic definitely be getting all printing done with Solopress in the future.

Decent product but getting there wasn't easy

Not sure you'll want this review - The business cards Solopress printed for me are fine, but overall there were some problems getting there. I followed the correct ordering process online and sent zipped ready-for-print artwork files but got an email saying although the order had been received the job could not be printed as the artwork had not been uploaded. I then received proofs which said the job was going to be printed on satin stock, but I had ordered it on pulp. Then when I checked my account details online my town was not included in the address section, just street name and county - began to worry the job wasn't going to get to me at all. Finally, I had made payment for this job online at the time of ordering but then got an email saying payment outstanding and the job wouldn't be released until paid for! So, mixed feelings. The folk at Solopress were helpful enough on the phone calls made, but what a palaver! I shouldn't have had to jump through so many hoops. I was relieved when the cards arrived (on the correct stock) but not sure if I would use the service again in spite of the finished job being done to a decent standard of finish.

Bad packaging

Strange open ended boxes/cartons were used so when the leaflets were delivered a few had been lost with a few still hanging out of one end! If these boxes are going to be used they should be packed into a bag to keep them together before being put in the carton. Apart from this the printing was good and you could not fault the speed of delivery. I would use them again if the packing issue was sorted out.

Top job for Top price!!

From the initial online service (live chat) through to the order process and then the delivery of the product, an absolute pleasure dealing with SoloPress!!

Over the top communication

The constant emails asking for feedback on quote/service is EXTREMELY annoying and unnecessary.
