Pool was cold noise kept me awake both nights heater did not work the first night also had a garanteed rate and was charged a 140 extra what a rip off stay away
Dirty towels, dusty rooms, horrible beds, woken up several nights in a row by the fire alarms and the stench of cannabis in the hallway. But worst of all was the awful customer service who take several days to respond via email (there is no phone number). An absolute waste of space, will never be staying in one again, the holiday and premier inn are slightly more expensive but from now on I will never stay in another travelodge.
The first room we checked into had stains on the walls and lampshades. After going back to reception and explaining the problem, the staff were very aplogetic and extremely helpful in finding us a different room. Very pleased with the service, would use again :)
Easy to make bookings. They are always my first choice. Never had any serious problems and have stayed at several all over the UK. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner are of good value.
After attending a wedding we arrived to check in to our room at Birmingham Moor Street Travelodge with our three year old son (which we had booked and paid for two months earlier) to discover they had already given it to someone else, they hadn't bothered to ring to tell us or make any alternative arrangements. We stood in their reception as the receptionist rang around at 10pm on a Saturday night to find us alternative accommodation. When accommodation was found the receptionist lied to me about how far away it was which meant that I took his word it would be a 'short' journey and didn't get the car seat for our toddler from our car - the 'short' journey turned out to be 25mins in a mini-cab taxi on duel carriageways with my child unrestrained!! I am so upset by this I struggle to put it into words.
When we finally arrived at the new hotel close to midnight they had been told that we needed two double rooms - this wasn't suitable for a three year old so we said we'd take just one room. They managed to muster up a mattress to put on the floor for him and a duvet and pillow with no cover or pillowcases. The room was serviceable at best, the bathroom was mouldy and fairly minging.
The next morning my partner tried to take our son to the male toilets by the reception area to find them smeared all over with excrement. Added to all the upheaval of the previous night I don't think my son will ever want to stay in a hotel again! When my partner told a member of staff about the toilet she essentially shrugged and said she hadn't had time to clean the mens toilets yet . . this was past 11am!!
When we tried to get a taxi back to the town we should have been staying in (for we were now at a travelodge some 8 miles away) it took nearly an hour to arrange and when it did arrive it again had no child car seat suitable for my son. All this faff meant we missed the planned meal we were due to be having and our nice relaxing Sunday spent exploring a city we'd never been to ended up hellish in a horrible travelodge and just trying to get back to where we started from.
I complained to travelodge about the shoddy experience we had received and they didn't even bother to reply, I just got an email offering me £36 in evouchers to use at their hotels. They have to be kidding, we won't ever be staying in their hotel again and I expect a proper refund.
This trip was supposed to be a big adventure for my son, his first night in a hotel . . . travelodge left him scared that we wouldn't have anywhere to stay late at night and then upset that he was traveling in a vehicle with no car seat. They have ruined what should have been special and they can't even be bothered to say sorry.
I have stayed in three Travelodges - one in Aberdeen, one in Edinburgh and one in Swansea. All three times the staff are disinterested, rude and clearly couldn't give a flying shed about customer service. I appreciate it's cheap, but so is another large chain and the rooms are incomparable. In Aberdeen the radiator was hanging off the wall, the shower head was filthy, there was hair in the plug hole and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. In Edinburgh the room was freezing and i was very paranoid about the cleanliness of the bed and I don't normally have any reservations about this in hotels. In Swansea the room wasn't too bad but it was very sparse and unwelcoming and there were no towels.
I will never use Travelodge again. It isn't worth it.
The model for each Hotel is the same wherever you stay. A low cost Hotel with many features that more expensive Hotels provide. You know what you're getting, no frills just a comfortable bed and en-suite facility for a good price.
Contacted customer service about this Travelodge however I am sorry I can't give this Travelodge a high score. I was told by customer service that they have very high standards however in the case of the new Travelodge in Kidderminster, sorry to say this is not the case. With being 5 mins in the room we was shocked that the shower head was very dirty, behind the room door it had never been hoovered, window ledge with black dust and the carpet had not been hoovered for our stay, I do have photo's of this and I did pass them onto customer service for them to rectify, as this is a new build there is no excuse for this. Also all the doors slam very hard and woke us up in the early hours, as they are fire doors they do need to be adjusted. After this experience sorry to say we will no longer use any Travelodge or recommend we will be using another large chain stay in the future. Customer service sent me another email to say they take it seriously and passed the complaint on to the management in Kidderminster but no explanation or to say sorry and explain the reasons however I do have to say that other Travelodge in the UK we have used has been fine and we have enjoyed a many of a stay however at this time we just feel so let down by customer service and Kidderminster Travelodge.
Travelodge are changing from the old motorway stop over. They have some great locations such as Canterbury, Eastbourne, Paignton and Clacton. Rediculously cheap if you take advantage of their their offers. Always clean, helpfull and reliable.
I used to use the St Nichollas at Scarborough and pay a fortune to stay there. As a Travelodge it is a small fraction of the old prices

Travelodge is cheap and for that (assuming I book early) I can't fault them. They aren't the nicest hotel, they aren't the biggest, they aren't in the best locations, but they are very cheap. To my mind they are the work horses of the UK hotel industry. Not the sort of place you'd take a girlfriend for a fancy weekend, but better than slumming it when you're away on work.
Not only unwelcoming but took ages to book me in against a pre-booked reservation. And then the whole room corridor smelt damp. Glad I woke early the next morning and made a rapid exit.
Used these so many times for cheap weekend breaks and staying overnight after a concert. When I go away for a weekend the hotel for me is a place to sleep, eat and have a late night bevvy after being out for the day/night. Ive always found the website easy to use and have used there regular £10ish room offers for very cheap weekends. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with them
I stay in plenty of hotels due to work and these are always clean and tidy where ever I stay in the country, I just wish it wasn't quite so expensive to take my little dog, as sometimes I pay more for her. The buffet breakfast is good value too.
I use Travelodge whenever I stay anywhere, they understand my needs and the service is impeccable, they also allow me to take my dogs with me where ever I stay. they are also very reasonably priced and are usually in the centre of any town or city
I highly recommend using them to anyone who want a short or even long break, that has disabilities or animals.
Don't get upset when it's a bit tatty, it's not absolutely spotless, the views are of a motorway or the bins, Travelodge is not about luxury.
Travelodge is about cheap hotels in convenient locations and they do that very well.
Book very (but not too) early to get the best deals (you'll pay through the nose for lastminute trips), but if you follow that simple rule TL can be one of the cheapest ways of getting a reasonable night sleep in the UK.
I use and have used TL quite a lot. Accomodation room size good - furniture a bit sparce but more than adaquate for use. Beds comfortable. However the baths are only for child sized people! Very small - can't stretch out. Downsize also is the web site if you want to ask a question - almost impossible to get an answer on the FAQs if yours is not there. Can't ring TL direct unless you have their number having visited before and asked for it. Have to go through a central exchange. Those TLs with restaurants are excellent value for money,
found that their services are good and you can save your pounds here as well as enjoy your stay.
They are a lifesaver for businesses like ours, with staff who travel throughout the UK. Very good quality accommodation, at great value.
I love how easy it is to search and book a room, literally got what I wanted within a matter of minutes and felt I was in safe hands, would reccomend to anyone
I booked our stay this summer via Travelodge and it was a very good experience. Reliable and good choice.

I love all the supersaver deals at Travelodge. I enjoy the various locations across the Uk
Old burned fat is not a smell I could recommend - several Little Chefs we've visited have smelled, so we don't tend to use Travelodge any more
Not a holiday hotel, but really good value for a day or two. Good online bargains can be made in advance through other websites.
Great hotels for short stays prior/after holidays and also for short stays whilst travelling in the UK
The web page is a bit difficult to use. Difficult to locate special deals and very few rooms seem to be available at discount rates.
Awful. Rooms and communal areas all look very much worse for wear, chipped, battered, scuffed and barely clean. Staff reflect their surroundings and dont care either. Ordered breakfast which was a joke, one day no bacon, one day no sausage or eggs. Pay more elsewher and enjoy the experience.
If booked early enough the prices are great, room are clean, nothing fancy but good enough for me.

I was returning from holiday and my flight landed too late for me to get back home. I booked a double room for my partner and I in the travelodge near the airport. On arriving I discovered it was a twin room that was absolutely FREEZING and had no towels. When I returned home I tried to contact travelodge and their is no way of calling them. I emailed them and complained about the circumstances and got a very pompous reply telling me I was mistaked, and that I booked a twin room and if I wanted a towel I should have walked to reception to ask. My partner did get a towel from reception as I had already jumped in the shower before I realised there was none. Even so I don't feel I should have had to do this in the first place. They did not mention the temperature of the room. As I still had my booking confirmation which showed I booked a double room, I sent them a copy to which I had no reply. I had to resort to sending them a letter which I got a reply and said pretty much the same thing. They obviously know people are not going to the effort of taking them to court for the sake of 25 pounds so just pawn you off until you stop contacting them. Will never stay in travelodge again and will tell others to do the same

WITH THE CURRENT PRICE OF FUEL YOUR RECEPTIONIST WASNT WILLING TO SAVE ME A FEW POUNDS BY ALLOWING ME OVER YOUR BRIDGE IN READING RATHER THAN ME DRIVING A 12 MILE ROUND TRIP FROM EAST TO WEST
TOTALLY UNHELPFUL AND YOUR TOILET WOULDNT FLUSH!!
REPORT SHOULD READ MUST DO BETTER!!!
OK if you want to stay in little boxes, no real complaints though - probably good value for overnight stays
I complained to them about quality of the room, dirty, stained carpet, curtains hanging down etc and their reply was "what do you expect at this price?"
Every time they advertise their cheap £19 a night room, it is NEVER available, nor is it the right day to book it on! Pffff!

15 years ago travelodge were guarentee of an acceptable standard of accomodation at attractive prices. Now however apart from special deals they can be uncompetetive and attention to detail in the rooms is lacking in some establishments
You know what to expect when you turn up at a Travelodge, rooms are all standard as are the beds, worth bringing your own pillow if you have neck problems. The rooms are always warm and you have your own heating control.
Great for a quick stopover on a budget.
