Since when it is acceptable to allow a review to stand for an order that is 4 years old because the ex client refused to pay for an additional service 4 years after the original order?
What kind of behavior is that TrustPilot?
I would say to companies looking to sign up to trustpilot to be very aware that disgruntled and bitter clients with an agenda can post anything they like for orders going back many years if you fail to service those clients for free now.
This is a ridiculous abuse TrustPilot. This malicious and vengeful review is to do with revenge for our refusing to supply additional service for free. For you to allow that to stand is a disgrace and it lowers the TRUST value of trustpilot.
Without TRUST...you have no Trust Pilot!

I am reserving my judgement on Trust Pilot until I get to know them a bit better but so far I would say I have had mixed experiences with them.
One question that does spring to mind is where does their revenue come from?
Most comparison sites get paid by the companies who are being reviewed so you can see that this is likely to mean the review is not unbiased which is why more and more companies are not wanting to have anything to do with these kind of sites.
I will edit this review accordingly.

Reviewed a company, had sent them my order information and order ID email, they still deleted my review.
What is the point of a review site that only allows through positive reviews?
REPLY:
I have sent you the information you requested already and yet still the review is unpublished.
ADDITIONAL:
It seems the company I negatively reviewed has made several other accounts and positively reviewed itself and then reported my review as being fake. I have already given the supporting information to show the legitimacy of my review and it has not changed, i don't see why new people can report it and get it taken to review again.

I hate being forced to use facebook as log in.
And trustpilot doesn't allow you to create an account without using your facebook.
Which forced me to create a fake profile, just to write a review. (Incl. this one)
Respect people's privacy, and make it an option to use your service without creating a fake facebook. Use some SMS confirmation if it's because you wanna validate people.

It's a good website to write reviews and read reviews to be informed of people's thoughts, opinions, and experiences from the overall websites.
TRUSTPILOT is fantastic! The idea is great and it is well implemented.
But more important than the idea itself is the people behind it. The customer service is great, so polite, prompt in their replies and so professional.
TRUSTPILOT is an example of a service that deserves 10 stars, not just 5!
I recently wrote a review for a site which I had a bad experience with, but a little while after publishing the review it was reported and removed from the site. I have read the guildlines and my review doesn't seem to violate them, which makes me think that the site I was reviewing may have reported it themselves. On Trustpilot there are also a lot of positive reviews for the site, while most other review sites show a lot of negative feedback. It is pretty clear that there are a lot of fake reviews for not just the site I was reviewing, but many others as well.
The idea of Trustpilot is good, but a lot more work needs to be done to prevent fake reviews and unfair reporting of reviews.

Today I found I was unable to login to Trustpilot. The reason maybe that I was trying to access the .com domain rather than the co.uk domain and having a UK IP address may have caused a security concern (IE: potential fake reviewer). For that I am unsure of and the customer support completely evaded my entire email when I contacted them.
But it brought up an interesting issue for me. The whole social media connection is a big turn off for some reviewers. I have no shame in admitting that I have bought from and therefore reviewed on Trust-pilot; online adult toy shops and that is the problem.
While I may not have an issue reviewing these stores, I of course do not want it linked to my social media accounts in anyway what so ever as I obviously connect with relatives which could lead to some awkward moments.
In that case, should I want to leave genuine feedback, I would be forced to create a fake facebook profile (which is just as easy as making a new email), which undermines the whole point of using facebook logins to avoid fake reviews.
Rather than use social media, perhaps a better solution would be to make trust-pilot require a mobile/cell device to activate your account here and that number can only be associated with one account at a time. Removal of a number would mean the profile becomes inactive until a new valid number is associated with it again.
This way privacy is kept for the customer reviewing a site and will also limit the number of fake reviews as most people do not carry multiple mobile phones. Just a thought.
While the concept of trust-pilot is a good one and has certainly helped me chose to shop at (or not) a specific store, there are far better ways to try and eliminate fake reviews than social media.
I was reviewing Infurn/Designfurn and saw a lot of very positive reviews all made within an hour, all in German and from people living in the US.
This is obviously fake (since all other reviews of Infurn/Designfurn is bad or really bad)
This makes Trustpilot not working.
It is too simple for companies to write their own reviews.
Fix the problem (check for the people on Facebook and see if they exists, check if reviews come from same IP or IP related to Infurn/Designfurn...)
And please put my review back since it is removed.

I can't believe that I get a response to my complaint and then and email from Trustpilot giving me the option to "If you would like to update or edit your review, just follow this link."
This is totally unethical to influence my rating and then talk to my about how transparent the company is!

I wanted to edit a review I had posted and could not get into my account or profile to do so. Tried and tried. Absolute rubbish, and of course no direct assistance available from Trustpilot, only an email address. Inevitably I have received no USEFUL help, only an automated reply that solves nothing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I use Trustpilot sometimes, however recently I got very disappointed. Apparently if a company does not like your review they will mark it as "Against rules of Trustpilot" or something similar.
Result? Review is not being shown anymore.
It seems that Trustpilot is getting money from those companies perhaps?
Anyways, fix that and I will change my review about Trustpilot.com / Trustpilot.nl.
However I seriously doubt this review will stay on here for very long and probably will also get marked as "Against rules of Trustpilot".
Two thumbs down for Trustpilot!!

When it goes wrong with these guys, you come up against a very tall, very wide brick wall.
We trialled their service for six months and decided it was not for us (we did not see any worthwhile benefit).
We stopped the trial (we payed up until March 2012) and all was good until September 2012 when several customers made contact with us asking why they couldn't leave feedback.
We made contact with Trust Pilot who confirmed that we had been re-activated (we had not signed or agreed to a new contract so why offer the service for no charge?) No one can tell me why and none of the guys at the top of the tree will return my call.
Avoid, your money will be better invested in a decent daily coffee and bagel!

I dont shop online anymore until i have read the trustpilot reviews of the company. Iam finding that problems i have had with companies others have had too and that i could save time and money if i just read the reviews on here before i order anything
It seems like there is plenty of companies writing reviews and pretending to be a consumer. But when you write over 200 reviews with slogan-like content someone should be suspicious.

This site is difficult to use and constantly crashes on me. The only company I was able to review is Trustpilot! Frustrating.
this site is not a fair or accurate representation of a business. period.
unless you pay them the only people who post reviews are people who wish to leave negative reviews.
I'n my situation I did not even know people had left poor reviews.. when i found out i logged in and atleast responded to the bogus reviews..(zero verification needed just an email address was needed to leave a review at this time) I then began sending customers to this site proactively only to hear back from my customers that the site would not let them leave a positive review. when i inquired i was told my "trial period" had expired. what trial period? then later on i received another poor review.. hmm strange.. I thought the trial period had expired? it seems that they will let in negative reviews to try and get you to pay for their service so you can bring your rating back up.. That is not a fair and accurate representation and its bordering on criminal.
another example of how this site is not accurate would be lets say you sell 90,000 items in a year and 7 people leave negative reviews.. that would be way less than half a percent of the customers yet would be a terrible rating on trustpilot because you have to pay in order to get new positive reviews... I would suggest very strongly that trust pilot level the playing field or they are going to end up with a class action law suit. perhaps there already is?

The reviews on Trustpilot have helped me in choosing the right company for a purchase many times.
When reviewing some sites, you can see obvious bogus ratings and ratings from other sites which aren't explained or anything. This gives a very unprofessional feeling about the site. Combining this with the lack of users that write more than 1 review, it doesn't make me feel like this is a site I'd recommend to other people. On the other hand, the site has a pretty good looking but simple layout.

I use iPhone for Internet.. It took me 30mins to leave a review for a company it only took me 5 mins to book return transfers from airport to hotel not happy.. Takes 5 sec delay for what you type to come up on screen.. Same del in tryin to navigate site :(
I always check some product's or company's rating on Trustpilot before I decide to buy. Very useful.

Many sites appear to have inflated ratings which makes any comparisons meaningless. Probably some selective editing, but I assume most companies simply ask only those that will give good reviews (e.g. FB followers and friends). I wish Yelp would venture more into online site reviews to avoid the conflict of interest that paid review sites pose.
Should put the names of the websites in alphabetical order!
I like to think there is a safe place on the Internet where I can read about other people’s experiences with different online purchases.
