Viator booked my helicopter excursion from my hotel in Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. Satisfying me on one of the most extraordinary days of my life should have been easy for Viator, but we all know that things can go wrong. The trip went off without a hitch and with no suprises. Thank you to Viator for helping me to tic a couple of boxes on my bucket list!
My daughter was taking a trip to a resort in the Kissimmee area of Florida and need transportation from Orlando-Sanford Airport to Kissimmee. I used the Viator website and filled out the form on line with all of the required details on 12/23/13. The form listed the options which only said "Orlando area " resorts so I assumed that her resort in Kissimmee fell into that category( I even had to supply the resort address in Kissimmee). I submitted the application and used my Mastercard to pay. I quickly received an email with a link to print my PAID and CONFIRMED voucher,which I did. On 01/11/14 I called car service company directly (Carmel Limo) just to reconfirm that everything was O.K. and was told that there is going to be an additional $28.66USD for each way as Kissimmee is outside the "Orlando area", so I paid it using my Mastercard again. Then when my daughter called Carmel Limo from Bangor on 03/08/14 confirming that her car will be there the next day they informed her that she had to pay an additional $40.00USD or "she would not be allowed to get in the car". Leaving her no choice said paid the additional $40.00 using her Mastercard. I called Carmel limo to inquire way all of the extra charges and was told that the original price from the start was incorrect and should have been $103.64 just to the "Orlando area" resorts not $83.64 and the additional $40.00( $20.00 each way) was to cover the charge for being "outside the Orlando area". OVERALL I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT I WAS MISLEAD AND FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT USE VIATOR AGAIN.
I find Viator has great information on their website which allows visitors to make very good decision each excursion has information on what to expect and hints about local customs a good date and pricing section easy to follow and most important I found them very helpful if there were problems all of which were resolved quickly and without has sell. I like dealing Viator and am prepared for their low cost tour to provide what they claim.
I have used both the website and the app for the iPhone of Viator and found them both brilliant. Their incredibly easy to navigate, I especially like the calender function on the app where you can skip to the day you're going and see which yours are available since some only run on certain days. I have used Viator to book my tours around Rome including Pompeii and the Coloseum and I've found the tours are well explained prior to booking so you know exactly what will happen timing wise etc and that the actual booking phase is really simple. Overall I think the tours are well priced, having shopped around a bit before going back to Viator, the tours are varied and the app makes it as easy as possible to get exactly what you want from your trip
I was on the phone making changes to my reservation and even though it was inconvenient to the girl on the phone she was fine. In the background I could hear some guy chewing me out and swearing at me about the situation. I don't know if she thought I was on mute or not but I did nor appreciate being sworn at. With that incident I will not be using viator again.
The Borghese Gallery seemed a bit intimidating for a first visit so we decided to take a guided tour with Viator.Although a little expensive it did mean we were shown round by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to self guide around the exhibits in the 2hour time slot allocated.Lindy our guide obviously cares about the quality of her presentation and seemed able to spark everyone's attention once she started showing us the important pieces on display.Her additional hour around the gardens again gave possible future visits to other parts of Rome.We visited the church of Santa Maria del Popolo with 2 extra Caravaggio paintings because of her recommendation.Well done Lindy and well done Viator!
It is a very good tour company. They are very responsive to your questions and needs. The flight time and the hotel location offered in the package are very convenient and obviously have put a lot of thoughts in arranging the package. Hotel offered very good price for the money. Completely satisfied with the location, the service and amenity offered such as free WI-FI, free computer usage and printout. Rental cars could be dropped off at your hotel. I am first time customer andt I am impressed with their vacation package. Will do it through them again.
I have been on several different trips with Viator over the years - day trips, evenings out and meals in special places like Sydney Tower. All have been efficiently run, seamlessly organised and good value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend Viator tours.
