I ordered a DVD set that I could not get anywhere else, and 2.5 months later, it still has not arrived, YesAsia keeps on delaying and not fulfilling the order, and I am at my wits end. They customer service is complicated, impersonal, and each email seems to be responded to by a completely different rep who has no idea what was discussed prior. I'm torn about whether this company is a total scam operation, or whether they are simply grossly incompetent. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM - trust me, it's not worth the headache!!!!!
We ordered a a japanese book, after payment, the instock item changed to waiting for stock, we contact yesasia to cancel, they don't allow cancellation even when they haven't contact their supplier. after 10 days we asked again, they changed order to shipped. after more than 1 month waiting, item still not arrive, and they ask to keep waiting even though we usually receive items from hong kong within 1-2 weeks. and yesasia keep pushing excuses to customs which is unbelievable as this is just a common in stock japanese book. nothing special. If I had read more customer warnings before hand, we would never have ordered from yesasia. terrible service, and possibly fraud, as they did not send our item but took our money, refuse to refund.
I have so far only bought something from YesAsia once and as things are right now, that’s also going to be the last time.
Before I’ll start posting my story, let me just give those of you that don’t want to read all of it a quick summary of my most important points: Yesasia has a lot of rare items that you usually can’t find in many other shops, the prices are a little higher than usual, but the fact that you get free shipping for an order that costs like 45 dollars, that’s pretty nice. However if you want something quickly, if you want a competent service and most importantly if you want your item to really get to you securely, don’t ever use YesAsia.
Here’s my story: In the beginning of July I preordered an item I couldn’t find in any other shop. Needless to say, I was pretty happy to be able to even preorder it anywhere. So after 2 weeks, the item was released and I was expecting YesAsia to send the item on the day of the release or one day after, but nothing happened, not even 4 days after the release. Then on the 5th day, I got an email from them, telling me that my order couldn’t be sent out for at least another 2 weeks. That got me really angry. I mean why would I preorder something to get it as fast as possible, just to wait another 3 weeks after the release to have it shipped out to me?
So since I found the manga I wanted to buy on another shop as well, I contacted them, saying that I wanted my money back. And it shouldn’t be a problem since my item had not been sent out and wouldn’t for 2 more weeks, but of course things are not that easy and they didn’t let me cancel my order. I was really pissed at that moment and wrote them another mail telling them (politely) that a service like this was highly inconvenient and that I want my money back immediately. Surprisingly I got a very fast reply, saying that giving me my money back won’t be possible anymore since my order has already been shipped out.
In a former mail they told me it would take at least 2 more weeks and now they just shipped it out even though they didn’t have it in stock? Weird huh? I have a feeling they just changed my status, so I couldn’t demand my money back and this makes sense, since to that day, I still haven’t received my package.
Normal delivery takes around 7-14 days to Germany and now more than 4 weeks have already passed. During this time I wrote them twice, telling them that my order won’t show up, both times I received the same email, telling me to wait more, no one really took the time to reply to the questions I asked, they just copied a ready-made email and sent them to me twice. Nice service, really…
Yesterday, after I’ve waited 30 days for my item to arrive, I wrote them a mail that was not as polite as my prior ones, telling them that I want a reshipment immediately or that I want my money back. Of course they didn’t even reply to the latter and just told me that they would provide me with a prompt reshipment. The word “prompt” almost made me laugh, because I already know that won’t happen. I checked the shop and the item I ordered is not even listed there anymore, so maybe they didn’t even get it in the first place and thus didn’t even send out anything, I really don’t know. Either way, a prompt reshipment won’t be possible like this and I highly doubt that I really will get my money back anytime soon. Also I read that I will have to pay for the delivery of my reshipment, since they are going to sent it via EMS. I mean it’s nice that they decide to sent it with a faster and more secure mailing service this time, but I already paid the full price for my order, so after waiting so long and receiving nothing, I surely don’t want to pay even more for it.
So if you actually took the time to read all this, I hope you’ll think twice before buying something from their shop. The item won’t be cheap, the service is the worst I’ve ever experienced and chances are high that you won’t receive your order in time or that you will ever receive it.
I thought I'd write my opinion as the other reviews are quite old. I have nothing negative to note about YesAsia.com. They have a lot of different things on the website making it possible to find almost everything you long for in Asian music and electronics. They handled my order of two DVD's and two CD's fairly quickly and it was shipped about 3 days after I placed the order. To be honest, I did get a bit nervous when I didn't get the package after 2 weeks, but after waiting for 17 days it arrived with Air mail, carefully wrapped three times in bubble wrap, so all items were perfectly safe during the long trip. I got extremely happy, and I am very thankful to YesAsia.com. I'd definitly use this seller again. (:
I am very upset about how they treat their customers. Who do they think they are? I believe every website should be able to give you a full refund with out any problems. BUT not yesasia.com. They told me they can give me CREDIT only. Who would ever want to purchase anything off from this website after a bad experience??? C'mon I am very angry that I would NEVER refer this website to anyone!!!! SO WARNING TO ALL CUSTOMERS WHO ARE THINKING OF BUYING SOMETHING FROM THIS WEBSITE. THE CUSTOMER REPS NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE AND THEIR REFUNDS ARE NOT LEGIT!!
Got 96neko's memoReal album in 7 days shipped to Melbourne. No scratch on it, wrapped with double bubble wrap :D Just placed another 2 order. Hope these ones can have the same treatment! th eonly problem was that I had to go to the post office itself because the apartment doesn't take shipping but that's alright!
Don't trust their estimated shipping time. It turns out you will not be able to receive what you need within the time you have expected. Very unprofessional. Moreover, I called their hotline and their representative has no tact at all. BAD EXPERIENCE!
bought some books and it never turns up! waited for a mth after dispatch date.. complained and they said can reship but not able to guarantee they will appear in my postbox. since i m going to move, they r happy to refund. and then they did me a store credit refund not real refund!! who would want to spend with them again after one bad incident???? luckily or unluckily i paid with paypal and got buyer protection . opened a dispute and they said will do me paypal refund but they couldnt until i close my dispute. omg! if i closed my dispute i could have nothing back, as i no longer protect by paypal and cannot open dispute again! im not that stupid, and make it into a claim now! wait and see whats going to happen! so upset about yesasia!
two items ordered from this company. the main item, which was the only reason for placing this order, was cancelled. the other item took forever to come and it only arrived approx. two weeks after reminding them that this was on order with them. this is not a company i would want to deal with again.

It's impossible for me to find original kpop albums in my country and thanks to yesasia.com I can support my favorite kpop group by purchasing their albums! I don't only find kpop albums but also asian tv dramas, movies, anime, anime toys. You can be a 100% sure that yesasia.com never fails, excellent service!!
This is one of my absolute favourite online stores! I'm really into K-POP, but albums are extremely hard to get without paying inflated prices for shipping. I also enjoy Japanese merchandise, so when I found YesAsia, I was so excited. I quickly placed my order - it was a Japanese artbook that cannot be found in most stores anymore.
With the free shipping, I didn't expect it to be on schedule, but it came within the expected shipping date. It was excellently packaged - wrapped tightly with bubble wrap inside cardboard packaging. It was also completely new, with the instore packaging as well.
I have now ordered more merchandise from YesAsia. This time, it was like superspeed. I placed my review at 9pm one day, and a notice arrived that it had already been packaged and shipped the next morning. Amazing efficiency! ^ ^
I will definitely be shopping at YesAsia in the future. Excellent company, and a wide selection of merchandise. There are preorders as well, as don't worry about missing out on new merch.

It's one of my favorite sites to buy asian cds, dvds, etc. I've heard the complains about this site, but I must say that something like that never happened to me, so I'm not really sure how high this possibility is, but I think that something like that can happen by other sites too. [ The only thing that I wasn't happy about was the huge customs duty, because I've ordered too much at one time, but that's not the fault of the site ^.~ ]
