I got fed up with Zoverstocks some time ago because they cancelled so many orders supposedly due to quality control issues. This was unlikely to be true. Recently I gave in and ordered again, after one successful order the second was cancelled. They buy as Music Magpie and sell on a number of platforms. The reality is likely to be that they can't/don't control their stock records. I won't be ordering from them again because I have had too many disappointments and nothing appears to have changed having given them another chance. They tend to deliver on run of the mill stuff but anything out of the ordinary is completely hit and miss.
Ordered 2 CDs on 8th of Feb, by the estimated delivery date, they never came. Got an e-mail after I asked what happened that my order was cancelled when I done no such thing. Another E-mail 2 days later saying it was a system problem, another 2 days I got told I was getting replacements because the couriers lost my CDs. They then said I will be getting replacements, I have not received them since. Straight to the point Customer Service - Shocking, it should not take 3 days to a week to reply. Prices - prices are good, if you actually get the item. Organisation - They need to keep more track of their stuff, it's quite appalling.
I have been ordering music from Zoverstocks via Amazon for a long time now and have doubled my CD collection because of them. A vast amount of the CD's that I bought cost me between 1p and 10p and have always arrived within the stated dates. I do find that they never turn up very quickly but what's the rush ? There have been times when some CD's have skipped or not been in the condition that is stated and every time I send them a message about this they respond with a generic response and issue a refund. I really do not understand why people are bashing them so often as they have always responded in 24 hours and always issue a refund and do not ask for me to return the faulty items. This has also been the case when something has failed to arrive. I really cannot recommend them enough if you want to boost your music collection for pennies. I have also bought films and games from them and the same applies to these as well. They are reliable, have good customer service and sell things so cheap it is almost like a dream come true. Don't take my word for it though, order a CD for a penny and see for yourself.
I ordered CDs from this company which was fine and received them within a few days. However they decided to inform me that the same order was gonna be sent out again. I immediately informed them this this was a duplicate order which I hadn't placed and was their error. Despite numerous e mails back and forth to cancel this order they said there wasn't anything they could too and the CDs had been dispatched as it was too late to cancel, however they were informed as soon as I re curved the e mail about the duplicate order. I have asked for a returns envelope and asked to be refunded. I'm still waiting and in the mean while I have 2 of each cd that I ordered. Why??!!!! Why would anyone want the same cd twice. This companys customers service is deplorable when there is a problem and isn't a good endorsement for play.com who use this company.
Don't use this company. I just placed an order for a CD on Amazon's 'New and Used' list. Three days later Zoverstocks cancelled the order, which cost just over £6, without explanation. Assuming they had made a mistake and didn't actually have the CD in stock I rechecked seeking other vendors only to find Zoverstocks had relisted the item at over £10.
Look at the other reviews on this and other pages and you will see that you really are better off using anyone but Zoverstocks, you simply may not receive your order and they will not return any contact you attempt to make with them.
I ordered some items from them for Christmas, a selection of hard to get DVDs for my brother. They sent me the wrong item and instead of sending me a replacement, automatically refunded me and then insisted I reorder the item. The price of the item had increased. When I complained and asked why I should be charged extra for an item I would have received had it not been for their error, they gave me some crap about 'supply and demand' and also admitted the item had been out of stock. I asked for my email to be sent on to a manager, which they refused to do.
They also have a very loose definition of the term 'very good', where items are acceptable at best.
Seems to me like they have some questionable business practices - they offer items at a very low price to get the orders, which they then can't fulfill, refund the ones they can't and put the price up. The customer service is also abysmal - but their model is clearly based on cheapness rather than return visits. I shall certainly never use them or their equivalent on ebay (estocks) or sell anything to where they get their stock (Music Magpie).
I can honestly say Zoverstocks for me are fantastic! The amount of cd's and dvd's that I have purchased for the stupid price of 1p!! plus £1.26 p/p is incredible! They have all been perfect, some in the original cellophane. I tend to purchase back catalogued musicals mostly, as I belong to an operatic society and they are useful to performers who've not heard the music from the show that we are putting on that year. I can highly recommend this company, You must speak as you find. I really enjoy shopping with them.
I had a total computer crash a few months ago. It's taken a long time to recover, but one of the saddest things was losing over 40 hours' worth of music in my Windows Media Player. I know!!!.....What idiot failed to back up her music? Well, this idiot, obviously. In my defence, I had transferred 4GB of music to my I-player that was stolen days before the system crash. Disaster!! Worse, I had long ago given away much of my cd collection. Enter Zoverstocks.
I have spent the past four months rebuilding a collection of cd's. Everything from opera to 60s Beatles albums, and just about every genre in-between those extremes. Music is my passion. I simply cannot over-state the fantastic resource I have found Zoverstocks to be. Countless orders placed with them (via Amazon), and not one failed or disappointing delivery!! I occasionally buy new cd's from them, but sometimes I've found treasured classical work at just 1p. Yes, you read right - 1p!!! How good is that? PLUS, whether I'm paying a few pounds or a few pence, the service is unfailingly good. The few times I've e-mailed them, I've received a response with hours, AND they have shipped to me on Sundays more than once.Everything arrives well-packed, typically in 4-5 days from ordering. Last but not least, even the cheapest cd's the company describe as in 'good' condition have been like new!! I simply CANNOT fault Zoverstocks. Although, I haven't finished replacing everything, I'm sure I haven't spent more than £100 yet, on a music library that I would have expected to cost closer to £1,000. I don't know if Zoverstocks ever read these reviews, probably not, but in the hope that they just may, I want to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt 'Thank You' for a brilliant service, and prompt attention to my questions. :-)
ordered a gift on 13/12/13 which they said would be dispatched between 1-3 days. it is now 23/12/13 and it still has not been dispatched and no email to let me know or apologise. DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL SERVICE!!!!
Never order from these, ordered my so s Christmas presents here, 4 weeks later they still hadn't arrived so I swiftly contacted them to absolutely no reply now my child will not receive his gifts for Christmas. Unacceptable customer service, did not even acknowledge my email very disappointed
Bought from this company a few years. Had a query about an item which they didn't respond to so I decided not to buy from them again. Fast forward a few years. I bought a couple of second hand DVDs. The first one that arrived was rattling around the case and the disc is not readable. I have contacted them but do not expect an answer. For £1,60 I don't really mind. It's worth it to leave them a crap review !
Sure, pretty good prices but the day you have an issue with your order, you might as well forget about your money. Customer service is inexistent, they don't care for their customers. My advice, spend an extra couple of quids and buy from Amazon, at least the customer service answers your emails.
I have used this company to order hundreds of DVD's over the past year. They are super fast at dispatching items, delivery normally takes 4-7 days, which isn't bad considering how cheap it is. I've had a few problems with broken cases but they have refunded me within 24 hours of emailing them. I recommend this company as they're always efficient :)
