iPhone 4

I sent my IPhone4 to these people having put it through the washing machine by accident. It was returned a week later saying it was un repairable.

A friend of mine took it to a local phone repair specialist who looked at and found the motherboard was missing and there was no evidence of water damage. Conclusion, was this even my phone and where is the motherboard and what personal information is recoverable from the motherboard.
