Great Start but same old story regarding after-sales care

Purchased an all on one A1 refurbished HP system. Nice guy on phone, very knowledgeable, system arrived 18 hours later.

Took out of box, saved box, worked perfectly. :-) Seven days later it started crashing randomly. Blue screens, freezing, refusing to reboot.... I called them and they gave me the number of a tech company who remotely took control of my system and removed all of the drivers for the graphics card only to tell me that the graphics card was physically faulty and I would have to return it.

I called L.D. and was told to post it back to them at my own cost. I explained that it was faulty but was told return it and they will refund the costs. By this time I had thrown out the boxes as my flat is small and the system had worked flawlessly for the first 7 days. So I had to buy a huge box to put it in (my fault) and pay £32 to send it back via Royal Mail as they insisted on my purchasing insurance.

Two days later I got and email saying it was faulty but that they would refund as there was no others in stock. So the money appeared in my account minus £80 for the postage, extra warranty etc. which I had purchased with the system and no mention of my costs for posting it back to them. I called them and had a difficult conversation about how they were not obliged to refund me those costs until I quoted chapter and verse of the sale of goods act and the distance selling regulations. Finally they refunded my £80 but then I had to call again for the return postage, to which I was told that £32 was excessively expensive (it weighed 15kg and don't forget £400 of insurance) and that they would only refund me £18 which is what it costs them to ship to me (with their bulk usage discounts) I accepted that and gave up. At the end of the month I had £25 of charges on my phone bill for the calls I made to their premium rate number!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. IF YOU GET A GOOD SYSTEM YOU WILL BE OK, BUT ANY PROBLEMS WILL HIT A WALL OF DISINTEREST. :-(

Lovefilm

No problems so far

We have been renting from lovefilm for 5 months now and the experience has been very good. Films come, we watch them, send them back and within a couple of days new films are in the letterbox.

We can also stream movies too so there is never any excuse to say we have nothing to watch.

Rentalcars

Nice car and easy rental

We hired a car in Sao Paulo Brazil (Guarulhos airport) pick up was easy. The staff were all super friendly, but that might also have had something to do with my being english and speaking fluent portuguese.

We hired a Celta but when we arrived there was a VW GOL waiting for us which is a much nicer and more spacious car so we were happy about that. The drop off was very quick, I was a bit nervous that they just got me to sign the paperwork and dropped us as the airport without looking at the car, but as we were running really late I had no real choice. The car provider (Budget) were honest and we had no charges on the credit card when we got home. All in all a good experience.
