After reading all these harrowing reviews I was skeptical of Zavvi. Their prices are among the cheapest among UK online game retailers and shipping was only one quid. So I took the chance and ordered "L.A Noire: Complete Edition" for the PS3. It was dispatched the next day without a hitch, no awaiting stock issues or anything. I've received it in 4 days, the packaging was secure: a cardboard box shops like HMV use, nothing was damaged and the game was new and shining. It was a pleasant experience without any difficulties.
Now, unto these really bad reviews. You need to understand that for someone to write a review, especially for something as little as a video game or a DVD there has to be some sort of motivation, emotional or otherwise. You don't go and write a review when everything is alright, because it's alright, it's according to plan, it's usual to receive your order on time and as described. So, when everything goes south, which happens to every business out there, you have a strong motivation to manifest your negative emotions and to warn other people of impending disaster: this is why these review websites mostly contain horror stories and complaints, because most people write reviews when something goes wrong. I agree that maybe Zavvi had some issues in the past, after it was bought by the hut group and moved to Chanel Islands, but now, coming from my experience it's a great shop, as good as your GAME or HMV, I advise you to try it out.
