jAlbum

It's good but it could be GREAT !

While I REALLY like what Jalbum has to offer, I think with the disappearance of Apple's "MobleMe" that Jalbum having the ability to reach into iPhoto and now Aperture's library (since they are now the same library) would be a GREAT feature. Along those line, the thing that made MobileMe's technology so appealing, in my opinion, was it's ability to publish site after site after site and have them all linked, Jalbum is getting there with the shared drive that Jalbum can publish to and that here is a "common" landing space but it would be great if that common page could be customized and not ave to show all the user's stats and "stuff".
I think Jalbum is close but with just a few more integration's with iPhoto / Aperture and a web site space it could be as easy as MobleMe was and attract a LOT of people.

Jalbum Mod: Please read my "Comment" to this review, it tries to clarify your reply. (I didn't know how else to reply to your reply)
What I really want is Jalbum to have the ability to read Aperture's and iPhoto's now common library and have the ability to grab images or already completed "Albums" directly from the library. I probably confused everyone by using the "MobileMe" term, that cloud is gone, but what I really hate, is having to go into Aperture and export all the photos I want to use, save them on my disk, when something like iWeb or , hopefully, Jalbum could read the library directly and pull the photos out and use them as the "originals" or"copies" depending on how you have Jalbum set up. That would PHENOMENAL !!!

Thank you for your comments. Try creating a new album project (named "iPhoto" in my case), then open album settings and set "Image directory to point to the "Modified" folder of your iPhoto library. In my computer the path is /Users/david/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Modified. Now jAlbum will automatically reflect the images and folder structure you have in your iPhoto library. You probably don't want jAlbum's album folder to suddenly appear inside iPhoto so ensure that jAlbum puts the final album elsewhere by setting the "Output directory" under album setting to a folder which is outside of the iPhoto library folder, for instance to /Users/david/My Albums/iPhoto/album. I can't guarantee that the extra files jAlbum creates inside the iPhoto directory doesn't upset iPhoto, but I don't think they should, and if they do, just delete them again. This approach has the potential to keep your iPhoto library and its resulting web album in sync all the time, all it takes is a "Make album" operation to update it.
