The Watch Hut

Professional and honest

On-line order for watch was despatched the next day (no delivery charge for orders over a certain value). When contacted by telephone they use a normal geographical number and answer in seconds. Recommended.

charly found this review useful

Worldstores

Prone to send out spammy E-mails

I received one: the links go to http://cts.vresp.com/c/?iWorld.co.uk (snip) content= your e-mail address!!! In other words, if you click through to their web-site from the E-mail, they know you've responded to their speculative mail-shot, and they now have confirmation of your E-mail address.

Oyyy

Recommended without reservation

An honest company: real people answer the phone, real stock levels are shown, delivery is as promised etc. I've used them twice with excellent customer service both times.

7dayshop

Reliable and honest company

I've used them for years, and all items have been delivered with no problems. I've also returned an expensive Compact Flash card which failed prematurely: this was replaced at no cost to myself.

Delivery times are perhaps not quite as snappy as some other Internet retailers: that would be my only criticism.

Paypal

Sharp practice, not on customers side

PayPal have a reputation for, how shall we put it, "forcing themselves" into being used. I've recently been on the receiving end (both as seller & buyer) of a trick they've pulled whereby they decide that a payment is to be made by "eCheque". the rationale for this is non-existent: you have a bank account (AND credit card) registered with them, they can take money from said account by a process akin to a direct debit. However, when they decide that your payment is to be classified as an "eCheque", you'll have to wait 10 working days from the time it leaves your account before they credit it to to seller's account. What's more, when trading on E-bay, they will imply that it is folly to send good to the purchaser until they've credited you as the seller, thereby introducing a 2 week delay into the sale. I used PayPal to buy a low-cost license for some software (license key for programme already loaded): the seller would not release the key until my "Cheque" had "cleared". My bank account was debited on the day I made the purchase.
