Misleading expectations and disappointing professional performance

Do not rely on ChatGPT recommendations claiming that AIVA is the best tool for film scoring — at least in my experience, this was not the case.

I chose the platform after seeing strong recommendations and needed a fast, professional-quality result for a client project. While the interface is manageable, it is far from intuitive if you are working under real production deadlines. Nevertheless, I purchased the highest-tier subscription (€49), expecting a level of output suitable for professional use.

Within about 30 minutes, it became clear that the platform could not deliver what the project required. Even when providing a reference performed by a live musician, AIVA failed to recognize or develop the main musical theme and instead generated compositions that were significantly detached from the intended direction. Rather than adapting to the brief, the system appeared to produce its own interpretation with limited practical control.

To rule out user error, I tested another well-known platform. In under five minutes — even in trial mode — I received exactly what I needed. I subscribed immediately, completed the project, and both my client and I were fully satisfied, at a lower cost.

I then contacted AIVA support to request a refund, as I had no intention of using a service that did not meet professional requirements. After several emails and days of waiting, the refund was never issued. Instead, support continued offering assistance in learning the platform, despite the fact that my production need had already passed.

This experience leaves the impression that retaining €49 was more important than customer trust and long-term reputation.

Final verdict: a disappointing experience from a professional standpoint. I cannot recommend this service for serious production work.
