Please avoid this garage at all costs - they are manipulative thieves

Please avoid this garage at all costs, I will be reporting them to trading standards today.

My mum is 74 years old and took her car in to be serviced this week. A straightforward procedure, her car maybe old but has done just 46k, she runs it to the shops and back pretty much as my Dad is old and very frail now.
She booked in for a full service, £145 approximately plus vat, not a problem. They then co-erced her into getting some additional work done that absolutely wasn't needed, she is old and got worried that the car would break down if not actioned so she agreed. Her bill had now gone from said price above to £519.37 - absolutely disgusting to do this to somebody of her age and disposition. The reviews look brilliant when you type in their name on Google but they are bogus to say the least, the real reviews are on here so please take heed of these and stay well away from these mercenaries.

THIEVES AND LIARS. STAY WELL AWAY

The 5 stars are for their natural ability at thieving, deception, and lies. If I could give 10 stars I would.
A lovely family or so I thought. When my car broke down they told me my engine had seized and it needed replacing. My engine had approx 38,000 on the clock.
Hussain who answered the phone said he'd found one on ebay but it had 60,000 on the clock. It had three months warranty and would cost me £2,400 including any extras like oil, oil filter etc. He said he would order the engine if I gave him £1100 deposit. I told him to go ahead and paid the deposit. When we spoke again he said they'd removed the engine and found wear on the flywheel and asked if I wanted them to fit a new clutch costing £530 ( saying they wouldn't charge for the labour) before they put the new engine in. I said no, as I didn't trust the new engine when it only had 3 months warranty, he then said it actually had 6 months warranty, he'd misread the small print. My husband who's disabled said I should have it done at the same time. I'm 76 and can hardly walk, that was how I started going to this garage in the first place, they collect your car and return it when finished. I googled to see if I needed to notify anybody about the change of engine and it said I should tell my insurers and DVLA. I had to do this by returning my registration document (V5) and sending paperwork e.g. receipts and new engine numbers etc from the garage. When I asked the garage about the paperwork I was told it would all be there on completion. When the car was returned to me the brother who delivered it told me the turbo had gone, and the oil was thrown everywhere. I said that I didn't believe the engine had been changed at all. They didn't give me anything to suggest that it had. I was told that when I start the car up it would still show 38,000 and that all engines had the same VIN number. All I received was a receipt for £2,930 and it said for the removal and replacement of engine ( my engine) removal and replacement of clutch and flywheel,
gearbox oil, oil and filter, coolant, brake fluid and power steering fluid.
So all told I'd been charged and paid nearly £3,000 for a labour free fitted clutch and full service. Because they aren't covered by the ombudsman, your money is not protected. I can't see how to get any money back but I can report them to trading standards and hopefully warn others.
Sadly I can guarantee that this review is based on my own genuine experience.
